  • Flexibility and options were are the forefront of the decision to go to this style suspension. But more honestly I had some parts laying around already 🦾. I have to say it was a good decision and feel I’ll be able to dial it all in a bit further in the next few weeks. I want to share a lot more on the driving experience with this suspension set up so please stay tuned. Much more than a few laps around the block! 🤙
    SN95 mustang suspension uses the McPherson strut style system. The particular configuration I’m using allows for a lot of adjustments and dials. This is a street car and to be drive. Looking back on the decision I wouldn’t change the route I took here.
    Typically builder remove the shock towers for the mustang II set up. This set up has been proven and there are amazing rides on the road that use it. However, the McPherson system has also been proven on many of famous street cars around the block. While this set up in the video focuses on 67 through 68 Mustangs it also applies to many other generations of Mustangs as well. I look forward to the comments and discussion about the claim of being the BEST mod. This is a personal experience and definitely not the only experience to come. Please stay tuned for more!

      Let’s do this! I have one in the works. That’s for this idea.

    I’ve done the exact Aje mod. Need to do the export brace and power steering! The original aje kit made a clunky noise. Switched to the same caster camber kit and strange shocks.

    Really enjoyed the video! And yes I'm one of those guys thinking about going to a Mustang II setup on a 1966 Mustang. It's been a couple years since you installed AJE system, how's it holding up?

      Yeah!! Thanks - K member welds looked good...no issue there. I believe that issue with AJE has been solved.

    I'm running a 351c, does this setup need a rear sump pan?

    • @FollowTheBuilds
      @FollowTheBuilds  20 днів тому

      It does. A fox body style oil pan was what it was designed around.

    Couple questions. What size coil springs did you end up using? What size sway bar did you use?

    • @FollowTheBuilds
      @FollowTheBuilds  2 роки тому +2

      Hey there…12” coil springs 175#. 1.125” sway bar.

    Hi how low does the K frame cross member hang below the chassis rails ? It looks pretty low and is there any adjustment for lower control arms... tganjs

    • @FollowTheBuilds
      @FollowTheBuilds  Рік тому +1

      No lower than the stock engine frame mounts. There still is some wiggle to customize the height of the engine to your needs (before you have to cut the tunnel).
      On these lower control arms yes there is plenty adjustment on the Racecraft 11.5” arms. One caution here is they work well with my wheel choice of zero offset. Turning radius could be limited with other wheel choices. I’m working on a mod that would allow more wheel options.
