    I met Paul randomly in Harlem when he was walking the street I called out to him and he gave me a hug he was a real sweetheart and I'd say one of the greatest comedians of all time I can watch his stand up today and laugh so hard my stomach hurts he's a legend

    As a kid watching Homey The Clown, I had no idea there was a political angle. I just remember it being funny.

      I always knew but I also grew up in the hood so yeah. LOL This was for us but introduced people more to the hood bringing it more mainstream to go with the hip hop.

      Yea when you black in the hood you will see the political angle actually when I was a small small child all the kids will talk about and living color everyday the first thing we do when we got to school was say did you see a living color and we were small small kids but we all understood who we are and what the show meant

    This made my day as a kid! Watching homie break down his morals and standards code! As a kid I knew the language he was talking because growing up around the end of the black panther and the beginning of the crack era you heard alot adult speak like homie around my way. That's before things got watered down.

    Some would say that back then it was a tie between Homey the Clown or Handi Man that was Damon's funniest sketch 🤣🤣🤣
    Whenever I see In Living Color follow up shows they never mention Handi Man but it's one of those You Had to Be There or See it for yourself moments in sketch comedy history 💪🏾💯👑🏆👍🏾

      The cultures not the same anymore. New jack swing music, the dances, the fashion, the clothes and the movies. I am happy that I grew up during those times and had to experience that era. Todays culture wouldn’t appreciate it.

    I grew up socially conscious so even at age 10 I knew what homie was on lol Loved his character. I used to knock my white friends upside the head with socks. They'd just laugh and say "he's just acting like Homey"
    That's right guys.... that's right 😆 I miss the 90s. Everyone is too sensitive now lol

    While we're on the subject of Paul Mooney, Does anyone remember in 2005 I believe, he was on the BET comedy awards and he gave awards to everyone who thought they WEREN'T a nigga... Oprah Winfrey and Diana Ross was amongst the recipients! Anyone know where I can find that clip? Its been wiped CLEAN from the internet!
    I was told Steve Harvey had to apologize to the audience and Tracy Elis Ross (who was in the audience upset) because of what Paul said 😂😂😂😂

      If I'm not mistaken, that's why Earthquake held a grudge against Paul Mooney. He was Tracy Elis Ross' date that night, and Paul ruined his chances of having a pleasurable night with her afterwards because she was so upset by the jokes.

    Early when I came to LA I got hired to shoot an interview w Paul Mooney for a doc about Lenny Bruce. He was very friendly and I got a lot of insight into the mind of comics.

    I watched In Living Color when I was in grade school. For a week there was a rumor that a guy dressed as Homie the Clown was kidnapping kids. I dunno if the adults were alarmed or even aware of this. But I remember us kids being terrified.

    Very interesting and informative.
    When I watch reruns of In Living Color and more specifically Homie the Clown I will listen in a new way.
    Also wow to grow up thinking the world as a whole is against you?
    I can see that having different affects on people. From lightning a fire under their butt to succeed (like the Wayans or sorta like Michael Jordan) to blaming others for their shortcomings and everything in between.
    Crazy how the world works or seems to work differently for everyone depending on who you are.
