It's ironic that they cited an article from the US regarding overdoses of ivermectin …. That has been completely debunked! There have been no rash of overdoses here here in the US!
As someone in the medical field myself, it's truly baffling how journalists these days speak with such certainty about things they know so little about.

I saved my father, who had laid in hospital for a month on 60 liters of oxygen. They were talking about putting him into ICU and even kicking around he may need intubation. That alone made me get a nearly $1,000 round trip ticket on the next plane, where I flew across country and right away was sneaking him ivermectin, NAC and Zinc... In a couple days I had his oxygen heading south and in 5 to 6 days they were baffled and talking about releasing him. Say what you want, but he is now home safe well.
Good for you, good for your Dad. I don't know what information you used to base your decision on. The fact is any test they put out. Is going to be flawed. Because they are putting Ivermectin against COVID. When what Ivermectin is doing, dealing with the missing link. That lies between the two.
Correction: _"The BBC _*_used to have_*_ a really good reputation"_ Sadly, after seeing their hyperbole and disinformation in regards to material that falls within my scope of expertise I believe they are no longer a credible source of objective reporting.
Indeed. That is usually the big giveaway .....when they 'report' something on a subject in which one has a substantial body of knowledge and it is complete nonsense and, as you say, disinformation. It is then that you realise that similar disinformation MUST be happening in other subject areas too. The BBC used to be the equivalent of a broadsheet. Now it is a rather downmarket tabloid. All MSM in the western world are littered with communists, trying to brainwash everyone into their garbage politics, basicly a communist coup going on.
Not just BBC. Virtually every "Mainstream Media" (MSM) outlet, anything that gets paid by interested parties (usually in the form of ads and shady deals) who basically dictates what should or won't be said. For instance, think that US MSM gets paid hundreds of millions from China: no wonder they can't criticize any of it and must comply to blatantly reproduce and validate Chinese state media propaganda. We are all so different. We all deserve access to informed consent around our bodies in a way that makes us feel safe and comfortable. Hope everyone’s doing well.

Professor Campbell (to me), I appreciate your informal but timely and critical education on how the world is dealing with COVID, or not. I must say the restraint you show in your treatment of scientific misuse and abuse by some portions of the media is laudable. I see your restraint speaking volumes which hopefully isn't lost on the rest of your viewers.
I see this type of "journalism" in Canada as well. And they keep referencing "Horse Medications" instead of recognizing the human Ivermectin has been around for a while and has won a Nobel Prize.
Ivermectin is excellent at treating parasitic infections for humans as well as animals. Whether it is any use for treating Covid is questionable according to some of the latest studies (the Together trial for example).
Exactly! Just like the American media. However, to be fair-there is a variation/dosage that is for horses. Anyone who has known about this early on should have informed themselves better-a dosage of it designed for humans is what is needed. There are a number that did not follow that important step. Now whether it is effective or not-well that is another matter
Yes it did win a nobel prize, yes it is safe for human use. But your forgetting something, it didn't win the nobel prize for use against viruses and it doesn't have any solid evidence for efficacy against Covid-19.

@redwarfa , unlike others Dr Campbell is being productive and very helpful so he definitely deserves to be paid for it. He donates the money to various African organizations that help children in need
A UA-cam video published on 6 March 2021 featured physician Tess Lawrie, who claimed that ivermectin reduces the risk of death from COVID-19. This claim was based on a meta-analysis and review that Lawrie conducted using 27 scientific studies summarized in a review by an organization called the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC). The video received over 140,000 views on UA-cam as of writing this article. Contrary to the video’s claim, a double-blind, placebo-controlled study by López-Medina et al. showed that ivermectin is unlikely to be effective in patients with mild COVID-19[7]. This study was well-designed and doesn’t possess many of the limitations present in the clinical trials cited in Lawrie’s meta-analysis. Since this study was double-blinded, neither the trial participants nor the researchers knew if they had received or administered the placebo or the drug being tested. This design helps to eliminate bias. That being said, the authors concluded that larger trials need to be conducted to better understand the effect of ivermectin on COVID-19. The video also misleads viewers by suggesting that safety data regarding a drug’s use for one purpose applies to different uses. Although scientists have known about ivermectin for more than forty years and it has been used to treat parasitic infections, this isn’t relevant to the safety of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients. Simply because a drug is safe to use for one disease doesn’t mean that it’s safe to use for another disease. Physiological changes produced by one disease doesn’t translate to the same changes in the case of another disease. The differences in physiological states can mean that the drug is safe to use for certain diseases, but not others. Indeed, many drugs have contraindications, or conditions in which the drug shouldn’t be used because it can harm the patient. In short, while ivermectin is safe to use for treating parasitic infections, this doesn’t automatically mean it will be safe for COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, we also don’t know how ivermectin may interact with other drugs given as standard treatment against COVID-19 and the risks associated with these potential interactions. Therefore, it is misleading to claim that ivermectin is safe for COVID-19 patients on the basis of its safety for treating parasitic infections. Overall, given the lack of evidence supporting ivermectin’s efficacy and safety, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t recommend the use of ivermectin for COVID-19. The Infectious Diseases Society of America also doesn’t recommend the use of ivermectin against COVID-19.

I'm going to post this above, but here's my advice after worrying about where to go if I need a doctor: find a family clinic and just ask them what their standard of care is. If it's normal and actually based in science, come up with a planned response for when you feel like it might be COVID coming on. Stay away from the big drug stores and find a local pharmacist. Now, I'm in the least vexed county in my state, so it might have been easier for me to do this (people with cattle know that a herd is meant to be milked or killed, so they're not into it). But a good local pharmacist might help anyone. They might be a little cagey at first, but I just asked "Do you know what the standard of care for COVID treatment is at the hospital here? I want a plan for the winter and don't want to get suffocated to death like a New Yorker." That's how I found a family clinic. From a local family owned pharmacist. This could be easy if we just all walk away from the big boxes and chains.
We the "unvaccinated" are the new Jews. The following is an article of what the Nazis did to the Jews in Germany. What I've done is changed every mention of the word Jew to "unvaccinated". See if you can see the comparison in relation to today's events: When Hitler became reich chancellor on the 30th of January 1933, he wasted no time on beginning the Nazi plan of targeting the "unvaccinated". This begin with a campaign of boycotts of "unvaccinated" owned buisnesses facilitated by the muscle of the SA storm troopers. The German Parliament passed a series of anti-"unvaccinated" laws, starting with the law of restoration of the professional civil service on the 7th of April 1933 which took employment rights from the "unvaccinated" public servants and reserved state employment for the "vaccinated". What followed was a systematic evil assult on human rights including forbidding the "unvaccinated" from sitting University exams and prohibiting the owing of anything such a bicycles to pets to precious metals. 1935's Nurembergs laws defined who was "unvaccinated" and who was "vaccinated". They stripped the "unvaccinated" of citizenship. All n all the Nazi regime enacted some 2000 anti-"unvaccinated" decrees, effectively prohibiting all of the "unvaccinated" from taking part in of all facets of public and private life, from work to entertainment to education. The "unvaccinated" were vandalised and burned and killed in the violence and 30,000 were arrested and subsequently sent to newly built concentration camps.

Ok, but remember not collecting the data doesnt prove the drug works. No one is studying whether drinking 20 glasses of water a day will cure covid. That doesn't prove water works to cure covid. And just because water is cheap and safe again doesn't mean water has efficacy againt covid. These two views seem to make up most of the pro ivermectin views
@@nosuchthing8 Except water isn't being used to treat covid patients across the globe for over a year now. Water doesn't have the weight of data to suggest efficacy, ivermectin has. Water isn't an irritant to pharmaceutical companies who stand little to gain from it's deployment and government actors who associate it with the counter vaccine movement. When public policy is shaped by corporate lobbyists, you can be damn sure that any potential treatment that doesn't stand to make a sizeable profit for someone, is pretty much dead in the water, regardless of it's efficacy.
They want to create and sell a new drug that does the same job as Ivermectin. So they have a fresh patent for their new drug and if it becomes a huge hit in the markets they will profit pretty well, which would be impossible with Ivermectin which is an old drug and its patent expired decades ago. If they did clinical trials and tested the efficacy of Ivermectin against Covid-19, and if that research showed that indeed Ivermectin is an effective drug against Covid-19, that would be bad for the sales of their new drug. You don't have to be a scientist to guess what they do.

The attention to detail and boundaries is spectacular, I can't stop admiring the sharpness of his mind.
@don s You’re right that a shoddy article does not give anyone a green light to take ivm. A *prescribing physician may give the green light* if he or she judges it to be medically appropriate for a patient. That’s Dr John’s point: who is more qualified to review the medical literature and make a judgment call for a patient? He repeats that he wants *both* vaccination and ivm. Remember that sometimes even vaccinated people get extremely sick. And yes, many of us are looking forward to the ACTIV-6 results and the Oxford PRINCIPLE results. If ivm was so easy to dismiss as “no indication that it works at all for covid” these studies wouldn’t even be happening.

This video is SO important. Thank you. It's terrifying how this kind of poor journalism is allowed on the BBC. Plus, I think your "cynical" take on why Merck declined to conduct a clinical trial is likely bang on.
This BBC article is the worst “scientific” review article I've ever read. Not a single direct reference link. The one link offered went to a 404 error page. So poorly written at first I thought this was a fake BBC site! Laughable really. Cherry-picking of the evidence at it's best. John is at moments “snarky” in this video for good reason.
have you not read the daily mail? the BBC is not written in harvard style. you are just riding on John's coat tails. Have an original opinion for once.
Which is why I got rid of BBC decades ago, I know for a fact they are completely wrong because I caught it and got back to normal after having all the symptoms of the bug after taking only a small dose of the stuff, worked within minutes and back to normal within a day. Lets all listen to the BBC and risk having to be on oxygen or a ventilator taking up limited beds the NHS want back asap, treating you like cattle and shoving you in a corner, forgetting you are there and feeding you cr@p. Its fine for the BBC executives with their premium BUPA memberships but I'd rather take my chances with a simple remedy that worked fine for me. Not medical advice, do your own research and question everything the msm tell you, including the BBC.
Yes, I just hope the public remembers all this after the pandemic is over, the news organisations, governments and individuals that collaboratored with big pharma to surpress Ivermectin, costing millions of lives. This should never be forgotten.
@@twmd You are aware of how successful Ivermectin has been in India aren't you? Oh, wait, no the media refuse to do much coverage on that. Hmmm, wonder why...
I very much doubt it is misinformation. There have been complaints throughout that the favorable studies had problems. Now India has dropped it from their treatment recommendations because it has shown no improvement in patient outcome. We hear about the successes but the failures are swept under the rug. I am disappointed to see the doctor make those same mistakes.
John Campbell is not stating that ivermectin helps or doesn’t help Covid treatment. He’s merely saying that the BBC article was unsubstantiated by clinical evidence either way. This video is a review of journalistic practices, not of the medical efficacy of ivermectin.
Perfect! Finally someone that clear as daylight on a Midsummers evening, says that there is so much interest in putting down any treatment that might actually help patients. and that being backed up by socalled scientists, who did their work in a very unprofessional maner, to say the least. Thank you John, for exposing this in a very neutral and professional manner. Kind regards.
In the US there is a reason why there is interest by the media and government to put down any treatments. If a treatment comes up, then they could not have used the Emergency Use Authorization for the vaccines. Once you understand that, its very simple to understand why so much pressure was put on to put down anything which might show itself to be an effective treatment of covid. It makes me wonder how many lost their lives due to this obsession over the vaccine.
I have been a horse owner, trainer and exhibitor my entire life, many are the times when a vet has prescribed medicines taken by humans for my horses as they are for interspecies use.
In fact, many drugs are effectively identical, especially generic ones. And the whole reason they're attacking Ivermectin is that it's no longer covered by patent, so the drug corporations don't make the huge profits they do for the less effective, more harmful alternatives they have under patent and can charge out the nose for.
Maybe it's been written a thousand times as a commentary. They wouldn't but socialized healthcare systems in the UK and other countries prefer cheap drugs wherever possible. And they're not recommending Ivermectin at present. Wasn't the article that claimed "people took Ivermectin for animals in high dosis, and landed in the ER" itself debunked? If I remember correctly, the source was one guy, and the hospital he claimed to have the issue, denied that any such cases appeared.
the US ran with something very similar claiming hospitals were "overrun" bc of ivermectin overdoses - no such thing actually occurred but it was widely reported
That article probably still has some value though. It mentions overdose cases in several hospitals in one US state . Then "some guy" on twitter got feedback from one doctor in one of the hospitals stating they had no such cases. The twitter guy then proudly declared the article debunked. So in any case, considering there have been people out there taking the non-human versions of ivermectin it's not unlikely that across an entire state there were at least some people getting ill and checked into the hospital. In conclusion, this is one of the many cases where both the source and the debunkers are kind of problematic because the original article really doesn't properly quote sources allthough their claim may still be true.
The original man who mentioned the stress on Oklahoma hospitals - Dr. Jason McElyea - later said he didn't connect Ivermectin and hospital workload in his interview, and said he was misquoted by the reporter, Katelyn Ogle, who seems to be the source of the claim that Ivermectin overdoses were crowding ERs and preventing gunshot victims from being treated. Two Oklahoma hospitals then issued statements saying that no, they were fine, no ivermectin cases, and gunshot victims weren't going untreated. Then the director of the Oklahoma Poison and Drug Center, Scott Schaefer, said he had 13 cases on record that month in the state, but only 3 of them went to hospital. The other 10 were treated at home. There might have been other cases, but he wasn't aware of them. It all does seem to have been a storm in a teacup, if not a fabrication. In any case, the moral of the story (aside from journalists being dubious) seems to be 'don't exceed dosages', not 'don't take it'.
@@AlAtar360 I partially agree. The articla that I spea of had exactly one source and that was a random doctor, claiming on twitter that the ER of his hospital was overwhelmed by "horse paste overdoses" and people with gun shot wounds had to wait because of it. That claim was checked, and was completely made up. If there are cases where people overdosed with ivermectin, then we need sources, that can be verified and are shown to be true. And hey, the wold has plenty of idiots so the number will likely not be zero. But when it comes to this topic, we have seen the media lie to our faces to often, so I go with "pics or it didn't happen". Just think about how many outlets claimed that "Joe Rogan took horse paste".

Unfortunately, Dr. John Campbell appears highly sellective in which _truth_ his chooses to _get out,_ even when it's scientific peer-reviewed research by those more qualified than himself. I have posted links to government-hosted publications, VAERS results and research by a virology professor specialising in vaccines, and Dr. John Campbell just deleted them. @Noel S, Thank You, for saying this. My husband has been a college professor, for over 15 years now, but taught middle and high schools before that. He's been teaching 40 years now. I help him grade papers from his classes, and we are both astounded with the low level of ability now. MANY students can't write a single paragraph, and, if they do, there are many spelling mistakes, poor grammar, no punctuation, and a total inability to "look up" information that's needed. I asked him just this morning, "DO these students even know HOW to find out information, and cross reference anything"? He said, "I don't believe so, because that's what's showing up". They spend as little time as possible doing any assignment, and almost never finish them. Then they demand a good grade, and even will challenge their failing grade, when they've done very poor work. Lately, one student went to the Dean, complaining about his grade. It was a 33% average out of 100%. He failed himself, and wouldn't accept that. Sad state of affairs. Our 5th grade granddaughter writes better, and can also write cursive, when many of these students can't. Writing cursive was done away with, so they just do printing, which is also poorly done. HOW DID THEY MAKE IT TO COLLEGE? Being good at writing and expressing one's self is the CORE of education, and has BEEN that way for centuries, until now. My 9th grade Biology term paper in high school, was 25 pages long, and had to be typed and spaced "correctly" (or we had points taken off) and put in book format, with a title page contents, biography, and sources, with NO plagerism. (That is UNHEARD OF TODAY.) When students can't write a single paragraph, and make it LEGIBLE, SOMETHING IS DRASTICALLY WRONG WITH EDUCATION...and with the past PARENTING. The parents have been too busy working to help their children learn, and there are also other factors. Schools have turned "learning", into multiple choice questions, then teach "How to take a multiple choice test and pass". But, ACTUAL SUBJECT LEARNING hasn't been taking place, because teachers haven't been allowed to teach REAL CIRRICULUM. It's a watered down, bastardized, FAKE curriculum, where they're NOT teaching what students NEED FOR ADULTHOOD. Then, the students are ANGRY when they "graduate", and find out they can't DO ANYTHING that's really NEEDED from them, and they BLAME the job, or boss, or whoever. It's now at critical levels. This can NOT continue, and I'm glad parents are now involved in the education process. (A good thing to come out of the covid thing) This is a PLANNED GOVERNMENT "Dumbing down" of students, especially American students. Putting in "gender studies" social studies, and sex classes Does not prepare students for adulthood. Students NEED THE BASICS, and they need to know them WELL. So, many good things have been REMOVED from education and replaced with indoctrination instead of ACTUAL....EDUCATION. It's really sad, and very, very disturbing for EVERYONE. I feel bad for the children. Parents HAVE TO DEMAND CHANGE.

Bravo bravo. At least some people aren’t afraid to call out bullshit.
The bullshit comes from this channel. Wake up.

I'm actually really disappointed with this video. Dr Campbell relies almost entirely on snark and doesn't seem to do any genuine inquiry. For example, Gideon-Katz has published meta analyses of the trials and Dr Andrew Hill has famously departed from the BIRD group as data emerged about faulty, fraudulent and underwhelming results.
Dr Campbell's disposition is affected by his initial support for ivermectin and therefore he's keen to 'debunk the debunkers' without testing the claims in good faith.

In the US there is a reason why there is interest by the media and government to put down any treatments.

If there are cases where people overdosed with ivermectin, then we need sources, that can be verified and are shown to be true. And hey, the wold has plenty of idiots so the number will likely not be zero.

Yes, this tells us much more about the BBC than it does about Ivermectin.
All I can say is that I’m grateful for the time you’ve spent to get the truth out. Thank you so much for continually doing this.
Of course, it is his channel to do with as he pleases and perhaps he is just acquiescing to UA-cam censorship, However, to continue presenting himself as a sober, apolitical resource for verifiable COVID facts, I think, is pretty disengenuous.
Dr John doesn't say Ivermectin is a good (or bad) treatment. He's just pointing out how low quality the BBC article is. The truth is simply that its a poor article, not that its deliberately hiding anything.
Thank you Dr. John. What is terrifying, is that people will believe the BBC with no discussion. Also that the BBC seems to be supporting the UK government and its wild fire crack down on the unvaccinated. No, I am not anti-VAX at all, but I am pro science, and extremely grateful for the reports that are presented here by Dr. John Campbell.
The mRNA injections are not vaccines. Even Murderna admitted that in their annual shareholder filings. They called it gene therapy
For the truth, not either lies or misinterpretation of data see UA-cam videos:1) Absolute nonsense from Josh Campbell about MS, vaccination and the WHO
2) Ivermectin saved Japan from Covid 19 was always bunk
3) 15 million excess deaths (2020 - 2021) estimated by WHO
4) What do excess deaths tell us about true human cost
5) Dr John Campbell Pfizer antiviral/Ivermectin misinformation
6) Freedom of misinformation: Dr John Campbell misuse and manipulation of Covid 19 deaths
And many many more.
Love it !! Our MSM in Australia has done much the same. In society there is a simple truth that everyone needs to have tattooed on their head: The role of the main stream media is, contrary to popular belief, not to inform but to control and manipulate public opinion. Realising this simple truth helps one to understand the nature of society with much greater clarity.

@Chicken gang for life - agreed. And add ivermectin's anti-inflammatory properties as well. Dr. Campbell is a nurse in the UK, as well as a Ph.D. Professor of Pharmacology. He is outstanding! Dr. Roger Seheult, MD in the USA is a contemporary of Dr. Campbell. Dr. Seheult has numerous vlogs on UA-cam and he is the co-founder of MedCram-- a excellent medical teaching platform on UA-cam-- for educating medical and nursing students; as well as the lay public.

Just like the Lancet, and the New York Times used to be respected. The phrase "the BBC can reveal" reminds me of the "Thought Crime" song by the Eurorytmics "1984" album.

Why would Merck do clinical trials on ivermectin when it has a new replacement that costs 100 times more?
In finance we call this a “perverse incentive”. A financial incentive where profit is not aligned with the public interest.
They probably just reworked the formula for Vitamin I by adding a little HCQ.

You mean Merck, the company that just applied for EUA for their less effective drug that competes with ivermectin didn't want to forego Billions in profits?

Is that the truth?
@@angelavolkov1126 Agreed. But they have a new competing drug, Molnupiravir, that's going to make them billions at $700 per covid case. That's the REAL conflict of interest. It's not about on vs off patent.

Thank you for the lesson in reading critically. Many people don’t know how to read critically, looking for references, links to studies, background info on the authors, context for information given, etc. This video could be used in a class or seminar.

(A good thing to come out of the covid thing)
This is a PLANNED GOVERNMENT "Dumbing down" of students, especially American students.
YES THANKS
I'd argue that most people, almost everyone, *can* do it. But can they put in the effort to actually commit?
i cant believe people believe anything they see on bbc

Ivermectin in small doses must be incredibly effective for such a desperate hit piece to be released at this time.
I bet it's what doctors and nurses have taken for it - since so many of them are evidently "anti-Covid-vax".
If it's in the way of a $700 pill then yes. Obviously.
It is incredibly cheap, so no profits for big pharma. The bigger problem is that the mere existence of an effective therapeutic drug completely demolishes the narrative supporting COVID Passports and the legal frameworks for approving the vaccines.
It saved a friend of mine from covie last december in Texas. Recovered in 8 days. So I do not care at all what the BBC says about it.
Yes. I managed to import some from India to UK. As an additional harmless prohpylactic, I took 2 tabs a month ago and will take one monthly through winter. I will go to fortnightly if covid goes rampant this winter. I have some spare.
