It may be that I’m biased, but this guy makes sense to me. At 54 I was about to become a father for the first time. I thought it would be prudent to get like insurance. The insurer required a physical including blood tests, before approval. (I was in excellent physical condition, running three miles a day, working out two times a week…) Well, everything was fine except my PSA came back .05 above “normal.” (I think normal is a number like 4.5 or so….) So they denied me. I found a doctor (I had never had a regular doctor before…) and had a check up. He ordered another complete blood panel and in this one my PSA was even higher. Like “six.” He had done a digital but he wanted to send me to a “specialist” i.e. a urologist. So this urologist (who was a big guy with fingers the size of bananas) does a digital and orders another blood test. It comes back 7.5. So he says let’s do a biopsy. So here we are, relying solely on the PSA ti do this invasive procedure. On the day of, they gave me Valium and used a local on the prostate itself. The administration of the local hurt like HELL. It wasn’t enough…the whole process was VERY painful. And it seemed weird that the urologist was just randomly selecting EIGHT places in my prostate to sample. Then for almost two weeks after, ruination was difficult and I was required to whack off at least once a day and I was ejaculating blood for the first three days. This was the worst experience of my life and that’s what I told my doctor. The biopsy (which I refer to as a “poke and hope”) came back negative. We did another PSA and it came back at like, 14. The urologist said we would look at scheduling another biopsy. WTF. I said to my doctor, “Don’t you think my high PSA might have something to do with my prostate being violently assaulted?” He paused and said he would try treating me for prostatitis and put me on antibiotics. Next test my PSA dropped to FIVE. Never went back to that urologist. Fast forward 8-9 years. New doctor, new testing. He says maybe you should see a urologist…you know just to have a look. So I found one and the first thing I did was relate my horrible experience and told him up front, not doing that again. Well, he does digital exams, blood tests, pee tests, blah blah. Tells me my prostate is slightly enlarged (no shit? I’m over 60!) and he feel’s something weird and wants to do a biopsy. I said no. Not unless he know specifically where he’s poking. Well, he couldn’t say. I said I just read in a medical journal of a new MRI procedure that cans identify irregularities in the prostate to provide a more accurate result. (Why hadn’t HE learned if this?) So he says okay…so I go to get this approved by Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they deny…because their physician leading the decision making doesn’t find it acceptable yet…. Urologist says he won’t see me again unless I agree to a biopsy. Fuck them all. I stopped seeing “urologists” and stick with my annual physical. I’m over 70 and FINALLY, am getting back to being able to pee (and ejaculate) normally. Yes, that initial biopsy debilitated my functions down there for this long… So yeah…I’m biased.
Trauma to the prostate will raise a PSA. I get mine checked every 8 months but always wait at least three days after sex or any unusual injury in that region.
They do not mention the potential serious side effects of the biopsy itself. About 10 years ago I had the PSA test through my family my doctor. It came back at 5. He referred me to a urologist who did a biopsy. Less than 2 days later my family had to rush me to the emergency room. Right after I got there I could no longer stand. A UTI had progressed through sepsis to septic shock. I was on the ICU for 3 days before the antibiotics worked and I was discharged. After the antibiotics that I took home finished the UTI came back. After more antibiotics finished the infection spread to my testicles. It was 8 months before the last ultrasound showed the infection had cleared. After almost dying I am not going to any more urologists. I will take my chances. My PSA is still 5.

Their incompetent and corrupt COVID response exposed them. My blood pressure (BP) is average for someone my age But they changed BP ranges (e.g., high, low, etc), so I'm now considered "at risk", but wasn't before the change. I suspect the change in ranges was done to sell BP drugs. Similarly, they classify me as "obese", but I am fit and a little chubby-- no where close to the normal meaning of "obese". Again, I suspect the classification is made to sell drugs.
I was 7.8 psa 15 years ago. Refused a biopsy and refused the psa after being hounded by my doc to see a urologist. 15 years later, I am still here. Peeing is now more frequent, but what can you expect in my high 70's. Still no psa test either. God has my time down.
I’m in that situation now. I’m 57 and my PSA is 7.7. I’ve seen three Urologists and each want me to get a biopsy. One highly recommended getting my prostate removed IF they find cancer. WTF this is the only answer the medical industry has come up with for diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer? If this is how breast cancer was treated women would marching in the streets for justice.

At my age I have BPH (enlarged) prostate as harder to pee unless I drink a lot of water, and I have tried the saw palmetto route etc to no avail with other naturals. Other than that, I am fine. That biopsy screening, is horrible I hear, and personally I think it is an opening for surgery for $$$$$$ if a person did have a cancer biopsy, all the needles they would poke one with in the biopsy would certainly be a problem, not to mention infections. Simply put, it’s not for me and God has protected me from those butchers. And yes, they get angry when you refuse. Big deal. It’s all money today. Every horrible Covid shot they gave , gave them doctors 100.00 plus/ patient. Nope they lost my trust . I wish you the best. I can only tell you what I did. Educate yourself on UA-cam . I am glad I took my route. I take essiac tea the last ten years. That is the BEST to prevent or fight ANY CANCER. I’m 81 and had recent surgery for a swollen prostate affecting ability to pee. Still HAVE a prostate even when my PSA was as high as 12 more than 15 years ago. Two buddies had elevated PSAs about the same time and had surgeries. One died of cancer a year later and the other wears a diaper. Both wanted me to have surgery too. Drs are paid for “procedures.” I don’t let them “practice”on me. I prefer to be proactive about my health.

You only have surgeries or other treatment if you are confirmed to have prostate cancer. It must be confirmed by Biopsy. The only time such treatment might not be recommened is if one's age and/or health would cause one not be robust enough to withstand the treatment.
Couple of few years ago my physical showed my PSA was a 4.0 which is considered high. My dad was always getting biopsies because his prosate was very large and his PSA has been going up for decades but they never found cancer. I go to a urologist who does the finger test and tells me if feels off and I should get a biopsy right away. You know where they stick 12 needles from inside your colon, thru the colon walls and into the fairly sterlie prostate and randomly hope they hit any cancer. And hopefully if they hit cancer and drag the cancer soaked needle out it does not spead the cancer. I told him an MRI would make better sense based on what my Dad had been thru and he told me there wasnt that much time and "if you were my brother or dad Iwould tell me to do the biopsy right now. " He had just about convinced me to do it when.. I got to the front desk and knowing the urgency ask how fast could they get the bipsy done and she tells me they are booked up for 3 - 4 months. So much for the urgency. I saw another urologiest and asked for an MRI and he had the MRI done which was level 2 which is the best you get with an enlarged prostate and no sign af any cancer. I really feel like the first urologist would byopsy a woman for prostate cancer to keep the calendar full and the cash flowing.

Having worked as a Lab Automation Engineer for 2 companies I am very sceptical of many tests.Some are good but many can be very unreliable. It is often the immunoassay and PCR trats that are sometimes more dubious. The Chemistry tests seem to be fairly robust. Also one of the companies was unethically promoting more tests than necessary and against the health guidelines to produce more profitable returns. As with Covid pcr tests they were unreliable and could very easily be manipulated to give everyone a false positive

At the VA, my urologist suggested a biopsy when my PSA was 4.7. When I got home, I looked up as much as I could on the www. A biopsy is 12 core samples of the prostate. I thought that was an awful assault on an already sick prostate, especially, it being a hit or miss way to find out if I had cancer. I refused the biopsy. Now after watching Dr. Ablin, I see I made the correct decision.
After over 50 years as a Family Practitioner, I would add another caution to the interpretation of PSA. Before you refer the patient with an elevated PSA to the urologist, be sure you have ruled out the posibility of prostatitis. It is more common than you think and in many patients the symptoms are those of BPH or an aging prostate and not those of infection. My recommendation is to do a urinalysis and culture and even consider a culture of an ejaculate, then give a therapeutic trial of an antibiotic( 4 weeks of a antibiotic that covers urnary pathogens) and recheck the PSA. I have had numerous cases where the PSA normalized or returned to baseline.
In 1999 urologist suggested a biopsy (PSA 6.3). I was visited Poland and see a urologist professor. He performed probe view a prostate on the screen ( only enlarge prostate) and prescribe me Finasteride 5mg a day and told me: don't let anybody touch your e..s. After 2 month PSA went down to 3.1 and in august 2023 is btw. 3.1-3.3.
Anyway...a little-known information...a biopsy in itself...often can later on cause a tumor to become malignant by contaminated instruments...already proven in many instances to not become totally sterilized...even after being sanitized using proper equipment...and procedures...Perhaps "liquid biopsy" could become a safer option from now on...
V.A. is my "Obama care" provider. I asked my (now retired) primary care physician about the PSA test and was told that it is no longer recommended because of the very reasons mentioned in this video: false positives leading to invasive tests, etc.
The PSA test is like taking your blood pressure. It can vary from one day to the next. Refrain from sex for three days before having a PSA test, as this will lower your number.

Yes its gotten very bad in the west. One reason for that is women. Another is corruption. Another is medical orgs, which alledgedly do the thinking for the medical doctors. It was all safe she said, but no way i was going to do that. So we sat there for some time and i had dove deep in all i could find on the 'disease'. So i asked, do you still have people with that disease? Oh yes, she said, all of them in the ward had it. I said, all of them? Yes, all of them. So i asked how do you know? I mean, obviously they all have lung problems, but isnt there influenze anymore? TB? Other? No, there werent. So i asked if they tested for the other things and i was shocked by the answer. No, they only did pcr test. I didnt make the obvious remark that they might aswell have a monkey do the diagnostics if the result is ALWAYS covid. Heck i can work as a lung specialist too then. Not long after (my lungs were ok, there was no fluid) i had to go to hospital again. This time my thumbs joints hurt, so an reumatologist. And indeed it was artrose (is worse now ;[ Anyway, the guy ensisted i wear a mask. I said no, bc its little use and covid was far passed its date. Everyone had been in contact with it so we all have immunity. He didnt agree, but i decided to leave it at that. So he said, id like to start you on HCQ. So i said, oh thats nice, bc it also works against covid. He got pissed off and said that wasnt true. It was a rumor Trump had started and that he was an idiot. I said IT DOES WORK and ive read all the medical studies on it. And it wasnt Trump that started that either. Now he got even more pissed off, but so was I. About ten years ago I received scant information indicating that a rectal biopsy can cause cancer. This lecture confirms that info but far more in depth. I suspect that this is yet another case of mainly money motivated medical money making swindles. Omitting or refusing to release public information adds to my suspicions... I am 72 years young with no prostrate problem. I do eat meat and have the occasional few whiskies. I do enjoy and love life. Thanks Dr.Ablin for a very informative lecture.

Don't know about rectal cancer and an exam but I did read like 600 people a year in u.s. die from bacterial infection received from the scope cuz the autoclave and cleaning procedures just can't be perfected. Over the last few years from what I've read and seen, I believe that it's something that should be regularly included in your diet for its health benefits, and that includes eating the fat. I'm 74 and hadn't had a PSA for 10 years (2.8 back then) when my current doc said "you're healthy, fit, and active and you might live for a lot longer than 10 years if you don't have prostate cancer- let's check your PSA, even though it's against protocol." He explained the risk/benefits, and I'm a retired oncology RN who had no symptoms. It came back 8.2 and with the digital exam found a lump on the left side. My later biopsy showed intermediate grade high risk cancer. I explored TULSA and Proton therapy but for a number of reasons it turned out that robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery at a University Hospital was my best option. It's only been 2 weeks, and I'm still leaking a little, but it has been a relatively easy recovery. I'm hoping my Kegel exercises with stop that leaking. The post op pathology report was much worse than the biopsy report, but lymph nodes and margins were clear, so I think they caught the cancer before it escaped the capsule. His point that men have gotten over treated is valid, but teaching us to not over-react to low risk cancer levels is the a better approach than to ignore one of the diagnostic tools available. I joined a couple of research studies, giving blood and permission to use my scans and tissue samples to help develop other tests and markers to help future patients.

From the little that I know about the needle biopsy process, wouldn't the puncturing of cancerous gland tissue and the retraction of the needle actually CREATE an opportunity for "cancer escape from the capsule"? @@T9RX3 Either you ejaculate in a plastic urine container in the restroom of the lab or you do it at home providing though that your house is not more than half hour far from the lab.
@@Archi-baby When I had total urinary retention(after an accident, about four years ago) --very scary...and required several ER visits and getting catheterized...I was able to solve the problem (to TOTAL recovery) via Chiro. and Acupuncture (and Beta-sitosterol to shrink the prostate)....HONEST!!! Trevor, nowadays (with a smaller prostate now), I have no trouble urinating or having multiple nocturnal visits to the bathroom.

A radio oncologist once asked me to have a look at PSA data he had collected from many patients. I told him almost immediately the changes he observed were not statistically significant and that he couldn't do any screening based on it. That was 20y ago. PSA level changes all the time depending on your activities. I can't believe how poor at math doctors are,, and this is very concerning.
EXACTLY right!!!!....and I've become convinced that most urologists have a SCAM going...with prostate biopsies and surgeries. Mine, 3x back was pretty good, but the last two have been disappointing...and even that "better one" could not be contacted when I had two crises...and just had to hit the ER. I am a 87 year old male of Scandinavian and English decent with a prostate history I was a bed wetter at 12 and cured by a WW2 doctor Temple who prescribed multivitamins In my 30's, I was diagnosed with Reiter's Syndrome. prostatitis, uveitis and arthritis I discovered that it was caused by dairy products and later that cooking solved the problem. At age 64, I had a psa of 6. and had my first turp and a 2nd turp at age 73. A biopsy after the 2nd turp showed cancer in one quadrant. .My psa every 6 month since has been as high as 10. However i have learned that sex, masturbations' or arousal the day before the blood test has an effect. Now, at age 87, I have had at least 6 close friends who have died from prostate cancer. I have a pilot and mechanics license from Utah State and a degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly so, I think in terms of statistics, probability and the confidence interval. What I did was to stop eating any crappy food which were high in sugar and additives, drink good green tea with added fresh lemon crushed cloves and honey or maple syrup, each morning I take Saw Palmetto tablets and zinc tablet. Every morning I have two fried eggs in olive oil and one whole avocado, then the most important thing is to sprinkle half teaspoon of Turmeric power with black pepper. Turmeric is an excellent anti inflammatory for the whole body especially the prostrate. A good site for unbiased info on UA-cam is Dr. Berg, free info and he’s not selling anything.👍
I thank these 4 men for the advise and inspiration that they have provided. This helpful for myself, son and grandkids . We don’t have accurate information to make decisions because our doctors don’t , they have only what drug companies are flooding the marketing with. We go to doctors because we believe they have the knowledge and our health in their better interest. Drug and insurance companies only serve their own interests at public expense. We would like to have a quality life with family till the end. Accurate information is paramount.
I sincerely hope that since covid, patients the world over, like me, have become a lot more skeptical with what we are told. My real problem is being able to think of questions at the point of diagnosis. Also the last thing I want to do is go to a doctor saying I saw this on you tube, now, what do you think? I got told I needed a rectal biopsy a few years ago and now I find out I should have questioned its efficacy. This is not fair, not everyone has the same mental capacity or accurity. During covid I kept hearing the word sheeple and thought it funny now I know I was one of them and have been for a very long time. this saddens me. Every time my ship sailed over seas I had to have vaccines boosted. One made me sick for a day every time, everyone knew it but you were expected to carry on. Service first, not you first. My psa has gone from 3 to 10 to 15 back to 8. I did think to ask what can I do to reduce it and was told nothing. I have a blood test again in 1 mth and am now hoping the taking of my blood wiil cause no harm You experts now scare the hell out of me. I think I will go down to my vege patch and watch the bees pollinate and have a beer or 3. Good luck world you are going to need it. Greed has overtaken.
Yes, we do have to think for ourselves. And i actually do it when at my MD; tell him what i found when i researched it. MDs dont like that much, if at all, but he knows it by now and i sure as heck am not letting any procedures or load up on medicine just bc they say so. Heck a couple of years ago i was kicked out a specialist in hospital over a dispute. Its my friggin body and if they start lying to me, they get a shitload of me over them. I rather just die then have some quack play with my body. btw, all those shots you took were probably still ok. Just dead or weakened virus and so as they used to make vax. The covid thing though is something entirely different. I did not get any of that and over my dead body will they inject me with that. Ill fight them to the death if need be. (not advising anyone. i am no MD, so each must make their own decisions wrt this)

A friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer in his 70's but used a Chinese herbalists advice to only eat raw vegetables for 2 years or longer, no other treatment. He became very thin but felt healthy.....lived into his 90’s and died of old age. All his friends with the same diagnosis and conventional treatment died after only a few years. Maybe he was lucky who knows.
I listened to all this debate, and I must say it was most refreshing. Both sides ,it was evident,they were passionate about their viewpoint,specifically for their patient's sake and mankind as a whole. The prostate business is most definitely a racket, just like most other aspects of our truly lame medicine for profit healthcare. And I learned a lot about the view of it from the vantage point of hospitals when my wife went through a medical horror story of the first order that caused her unnecessary premature death. Also learned a lot about medical case lawyers as well as acquiring a great deal of knowledge about the games doctors play to minimize their liability once they realize they have screwed the pooch. Then came the day I told my GP what I thought of medicine in the US and so he told me I could no longer be his patient. Must have struck a bone on that one.

I had a little something myself with my MD. I dont really want to talk about it, but i was there for an appointment. And all those get registered. I was desperate. Took pills. Did something i shouldnt have. Woke up in ICU. Then the next day was brought to prison. Lawyer came at some point and i told what i knew. I told everyone, bc im an honest person. So i said i had been to the doc. He says well then, bla bla. I said i dont want to do that. Its not my docs fault. So he said ok. He requested my medical record anyway and one day he came with that pack of paper. So he says. its not in there that you were there prior. And it wasnt. So he had deleted it. To cover his ass. Now its not his fault. How was he to know i would freak out? I didnt even know myself. When i got back home, years later i called, but they didnt want me as patient again. I said ok, but can i at least have a talk with him? Ive been with that doc for over 20 years. Nope, he didnt want to talk with me either. I found that such a bummer. Then i read what was left of my medical dossier, bc my lawyer had already 'cleaned it up' (... ????) I was 52 at the time. It was on my BD. So all my medical shoulda been in there. Some old stuff was still there, nothing out of the ordinary, but when i got to his 20 years, which is also when i got psych problems, depression and so, he had written very odd things. So i started cleaning up myself and burnt it in the woodburner. Nothing was left. It was either irrelevant to anything i can ever get, or negative things about me that he had written. So when i got to my new doc, he wanted my medical records. I said, i cleaned it up, theres nothing left. He frowned. And then i told him i do not ever wish to see anything written down from me, that i say to him. He agreed to that. Specially now, that 'big brother' has its claws into everything, you dont want things passed on that you tell your MD in confidence.
BRAVO!!! A while back, I had a good urologist, who supported me in holding off on anything radical in way of surgery or doing biopsies (and just kind've "keeping an eye out" for any changes)(with a somewhat elevated PSA, but--I understand--what was fairly typical for a senior, and a distinctly enlarged prostate (and SOME signs of nocturia and night-time urgency). But, since I moved to two other urologists, all I'm hearing have been DEMANDS for biopsies!! One of them even suggested I forget about subsequent visits, as we weren't really doing anything useful, as he put it!! In recent history (due to Chiropractic and Acupuncture...and some key supplements), I've seen an abatement of prostate-related signs and symptoms...e.g.. now, I might have to get up at night...about once/night...which doesn't seem to be a big deal...and--I'm pretty sure--reflects a shrinkage of my prostate, as my lower abdomen seems smaller these days. I'm looking forward to an ultrasound--in the near future--to verify this. And everything urogenital is working just fine, thank you!! I'm going to add that I understand that MANY things can affect the PSA levels...EVEN just having just had sex, so it's a test which must be used with considerable discretion (and common sense)!!! ; )
Had PSA test 13 years ago....reading was 6.6 and after a dre test, my gp said there was an issue. Went to local urology consultant and he thought it was cancer. Biopsy came back negative for cancer but said there was an infection which was not prostatitus. Went on course of antiobiotics. After this course,second psa test showed 6.5.....very same result. 13 years later all is well,waterworks fine. What gives? After scaring the hell out of me there was nothing wrong with my prostate. I just eat plenty tomatoes,cruciferous veg, green tea,etc. I have never felt so well in all my life and I am now 67! All I am saying is these postaste tests are not reliable,especially when they rely so much on dre exams and psa tests.
When we take into account that humans, including doctors, are driven by self-interest you can't help but recognise that _the interpretation of results will be influenced by the desire to make some money out of a patient who is already vulnerable and also gullible because the doctor is a "doctor" not just a lay person._ So the power of the patient to be sceptical is removed and it is no wonder so many men end up being the guinea pigs. I think that, recognising that we will all die when our time comes, it is best to maintain serious diet protocol -- prevention is better than cure.
I'm 76 and my PSA levels keep going up, so I had a biopsy at my VA Medical Facility. I have 3 malignant nodules. The doctor said he won't treat the cancer because I can live another 12 to 15 years before the cancer kills me. VA doctors are not under pressure to do surgeries like in the civilian world.
What he didn't tell you is that without surgery, you will have to take hormone blockers, and chemo drugs. You will be fighting it for years. Who cares if you live till 90 if your last 10 years is one of fatigue, weakness, nocturia, and full of TV watching. Don't buy this guy's BS. It also depends on your Gleason score and how aggressive it is. Facts are prostate cancer is undertreated for men who have longevity in their family and it does kill them over years usually with painful bone metastasis.
Honestly, there’s risk whatever you decide. Surgery carries significant risks of chronic pain. Biopsy likewise. They’re not purely an economic thing, where a ruck guy gets it done & might benefit & the poor guy doesn’t & might miss that cancer. If you proceed down the biopsy path, three things. 1. You’re quite UNlikely to get a definite answer. Now you’re neither a cancer patient nor are you well. Probably this’ll be true for the rest of your life. Consider the psychological price you & your loved ones will pay. 2. You’re running a not insignificant risk of pain that can be persistent and even chronic. That’s my situation though how I got there wasn’t a prostate biopsy but a bladder problem that was mishandled. 3. You might get a result that isn’t definitively bad but your doctor is “concerned”. You’ll.be back in a year and you’ll probably do the same things again. I recognize it’s possible that by proceeding along the path of a regular medical (even though you’re perfectly well), getting an elevated PSA, having a biopsy, finding tumours that haven’t yet metastasised and having surgery & radiotherapy, not having significant side effects that just maybe, your life has been extended. Isn’t medicine brilliant!? Yet if you put 1000 men through that funnel and I’m almost certain that net harm will result. What we’re not told before getting unnecessarily medicalised is that this pattern isn’t uncommon. Prostates are particularly bad for this, but the potential is there for false positives and false negatives in just about all medical screening funnels.

I find Dr. Stephan's comments most enlightening. He recognizes that PSA alone is a poor test, but along with other factors and tests, one can differentiate aggressive cancers from indolent cases in an increasing percentage of men. And, as he points out, if the patient with the 240 PSA never was screened, then he would surely not be found in time to possibly save his life.
The love of money is the root of all evil - 1 Timothy 6:10 I am very thankful that when I went to see my Doctor when I was 55 years old for a routine physical that my Doctor knew these things that Dr. Ablin speaks about. I asked about getting the screening and he told me that PSA screening is a waste of time and didn't do it, and briefly explained the reasons to me. I was lucky. I knew many men who had the screening, were diagnosed with prostate cancer, and suffered the results of the treatment which of course they carry daily until the ends of their lives.

My $.02. Enlargement and eventual cancer of the prostate is caused by chronically elevated insulin levels. Insulin resistance. Insulin is an anabolic growth factor. Control insulin resistance with a very low carb diet.
Cancer diagnosis and treatment are such big business that I don't trust anything they say - I verify. For the same reason, I haven't ever had a mammogram. Data demonstrates that more cancer has been caused by repeated mammograms than caught by them.
I am 50 and was just diagnosed with high grade prostate cancer with extracapsular extension and invasion of both neurovascular bundles. I was screened because I complained of a slightly overactive bladder. My PSA was only 4.9. MRI imaged tumor and biopsy confirmed gleason 8. This test in my case saved me from metastatic prostate cancer, so I guess I'm thankful for the screening.
@gavinbrooke They've already went back screening. This study was proven wrong. I'm sure there has been over treatment for prostate cancer, but PSA has saved many lives! Glad you caught yours
Don't mean to be a downer but the fact is you have no idea at this point if your testing and treatment has saved you from metastatic cancer. Any doctor that tells you that is a liar.
I lost both parents to cancer at age 73. Im 70 and take turkey tail and other medicinal mushrooms daily. Also lots of exercise, many supplementsand good foods. Well see.........I dont eat glutens, or factory farmed animals. We are not just what we eat but, what the creatures we eat, eat.
Hit the nail on the head there! This is for another type of discussion but; if your partner ate a pan of them cheap noodles with little packet of flavour, then an hour or so later you drank their urine, it will taste very salty and slightly spicy. Wait another hour or so and taste your own and guess what - hardly any difference!! So yes I get 100 % we are what the creatures we eat are because our bodies are not just metabolisers of food, but also filters, things like heavy metals get stuck I beleive. I don't look to good waiting for my teeth, but since I got all the teeth with metal removed I feel so much better. I'm not 100% veggie but notice when I do eat meat I don't feel well for a good few days afterwards. It would be interesting to see if I was with someone who killed and cooked a free fresh animal if that lethargic and slowing down of the bowel happened. Great comment!!

I was never screened. After nearly 8 months of progressively more difficult urination I had to get checked. A blood test showed a PSA level around 230, biopsies came back all 12 samples positive for cancer and a bone scan showed several hotspots, one relating to the pins and needles that had developed in one leg. After some treatments I'm still alive and the pins and needles is gone but the cancer is regarded as incurable.
Hi I'm 65yrs young and for the last 14 month my psa level is 12.4. My Urologist sent me for an MRI scan and the results came back showing no cancer but an inflammation of the prostrate and enlarged prostrate too. My Urologist said i have prostatitis and this is the reason of my high PSA level. I suggested a biopsy but the Urologist said their is no target with the biopsy needle as the scan is showing nothing suspicious. Im a little nervous as both my Dad and Grandad both passed away with prostrate cancer. I even thought about going private and just removing the the prostrate even though no cancer is showing. Its just the worry about thinking of prostrate cancer... I had a psa blood test this morning 3 months after my last blood test. Results will take a week. Really hoping the psa blood level have come down🙏🙏
If you go back to 2011, you will find that a panel of doctors tasked with studying the efficacy of PSA testing, recommended that it be stopped. Why? Because they had many years of data for both pre- PSA testing and after PSA testing to analyze and they found no change in the mortality rate. What did that mean? It meant that PSA testing wasn’t helping. How could that be? It could only be explained by the realization that they were dealing with two kinds of situations. For some men the Cancer was never going to do more than grow slowly in their Prostate. Those men don’t need to be treated. They are going to die from something else. For other men, their Cancer has already spread outside the Prostate by the time the PSA test detects it. Removing or irradiating their Prostate is unnecessary because the Cancer is no longer contained in the Prostate. They are likely going to die from Prostate Cancer, because there is no treatment to stop it from continuing to grow. Hormone therapy to block testosterone can slow it down for a while, until the Cancer cells that aren’t affected by the hormone therapy multiply enough to be fatal. So, why treat anyone? That was a good question that didn’t go unnoticed by the industry . The many years of data showed that treatment based on PSA tests had no effect on mortality rates. Half the men needed no treatment because their Cancer was going to stay put and for the other half, it was going to be too late to do any good. Ouch. So, what happened? Those doctors who made the recommendation to stop PSA testing might have been the last of a dying breed that meant to keep their oath to do no harm. There was no point in cutting people up or in irradiating their prostates, plus everything around them. Those both can often cause unnecessary impotence and/or incontinence, as well as other medical problems. The industry fought back by trotting celebrities out to the Media where they swore they were cured. They just happened to fall into the lucky group whose Cancer was never going to metastasize, but no one told them that. They were like all the other men who thought the treatment cured them. The public couldn’t understand why the panel made that recommendation and there was enough backlash to give the win to the industry. The panel knew the public was being hoodwinked. That using anecdotal data was unscientific and unethical but could do nothing about it. The industry was going to keep making their money on doing useless PSA testing and on doing useless/harmful operations and radiation treatments. So, all those PSA tests and all those surgeries and radiation treatments since 2011 were unnecessary? Yes, that is the bottom line. So what is really needed? 1. They need a test that detects Prostate Cancer before it can leave the Prostate (metastasize). 2. They need a way to recognize those men in the group where their Cancer is never going to leave their Prostate. Are they working on that? I don’t follow what they’re doing in that regard, even though I am one of the unlucky group. My question is this “Will it make them more money? If they think not or they think it will make them less money, what would be their motive? Here is an article from 2011 re: the controversy www.nytimes.com/2011/10/07/health/07prostate.html The findings of the panel, confirmed a prior study in Sweden, where men who found out they had Prostate Cancer, were asked if they would do “watchful waiting” (ie. no treatment) to see if their group had a different life expectancy than the treated group. The study results were “no difference was found in death rate or life expectancy.” I found this information back in 2002 or around then, when I was researching because I had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. So, how is it that I am still alive, if I was in the unlucky group? Two tears after my radiation treatment, my PSA started to slowly climb back up from 1.0. That was the indicator that my Cancer had escaped my Prostate. At that point, I chose to do nothing. I had no more PSA tests and no hormone treatment. In 2014, I had an injury to my Piriformis muscle that would not respond to Physio. I decided to have my PSA checked because by this time even sitting down was too painful. My PSA came back at nearly 3,800. I knew it was time for the hormone blocker treatment to give me more time. At the same time, I started to look for alternative treatments, because I knew that hormone blocking was just going to delay the inevitable. Later, I found a study from Denmark that showed I had < 1% chance of surviving 5 years. I came across Rick Simpson and Phoenix Tears. That was the only thing that showed promise, so I followed his recommendations. My Oncologist noticed how unusually rapidly my PSA was dropping. I told him why that might be the case. All he said was “Whatever your doing, keep doing it. I believe that is why I am still alive 10 years after my odds of surviving just 5 years were less than 1%. If you have read this far, I hope you got something out of this you did not already know. May you life a long and happy life!
This could and should be a non-issue. All one needs to do is fast, fast&more fasting and cansior absolutely goes away PERIOD. Every time it's tried it works. In 2013 had a friend that had a PSA test done about the same time as I did. Mine was to 5.0 up from 4.2 a year earlier. My friend had waited way too long to find out he had prostate cancer and he died from it in early 2015. Mine was caught early due to the PSA test and I had radiation treatments in late 2013. For the last ten years my PSA has run around 0.12 and I'm now 75. My two cents.
When my PSA went to 15.5 we knew something needed to be done. So far after a few years it flared again so treatment needed to be done. I'm still alive.
@@jackjackson7577 Mine went from 10 to 3 in a month with diet change, use of CBD, and topical application of 70% DMSO/30% Aloe vera gel on the perineum (after thorough washing, rinsing and disinfection with peroxide spray). Now I consume chlorine dioxide regularly today.

My PSA was 4.5. Urologist took 6 needle biopsies which 4 were cancer 3+3 on Gleason. Has nerve sparing surgery and biopsy showed that cancer "legs" had grown out of the tumors and were about to breakout of the prostate gland. The PSA Test saved my life at 56 years old!

@@thomaslehmann5981 My (UK)PSA has been between 10 and 18 for more than 10 years: I opted for "wait and see"..and a change of lifestyle,diet, etc..including, no caffeine or sugar,low salt and distilling my own water..After 7 ot so years, they prescribed finasteride, which brought PSA down to 6.5..i was pressured early on towards surgery..which I feared,so avoided..
My brother in law would be dead right now if it weren't for PSA . Which detected cancer in his spine 2 yrs after his prostate cancer was eliminated with a prostatectomy. PSAisnumber one warning of metastatic prostate cancer. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS QUACK. I want to know just what so-called " HARM" does PSA screening do??

Thanks for Important information. I'm 75 and recently diagnosed benign enlarged prostate and a negative PSA - but offered surgery on the basis of a urinary flow test. (which I have declined and sought symptomatic urinary treatment via medications). Without an actual malignacy identified via biopsy, I'm only inclined to symptomatic treatment via daily oral medication. Obviously my clinic isn't properly informing me of what hazards surgery presents. I don't even have any specific description of which proceedure my occur. No MRI has been offered. I suspect it's considered prohibitively expensive for my insurance.
Years ago a doctor said I might need a biopsy PSA NUMBERS . Run like crazy that was 20yrs ago . His patients looked like walking death . He was from India and needed money.
I DEFINITELY hear you!!! As it happens, I had a pretty good urologist "back when," but the last two have been horrible. They both wanted to do that (12 sample) biopsy...which I consider invasive and unnecessary. Not only that, but the usual "manual" prostate exam (with him) LAST TIME was long and uncomfortable. I am not lying...when I say that I was SERIOUSLY considering filing a police report...based on charges of sexual assault. BTW, the PSA is often over-valued. People I trust (in the medical community have advised that the PSA can be elevated due to many things (even having had sex the day before!). Mine (in my seventies) has been a very stable 7 for years.... and I anticipate NO problem. I might add that all urogenital functions are 100% (and enhanced by acupuncture and Chiro. (Dr. TCH)
This researcher reminds me of Kary Mullis. my psa is always over 25. yes, twenty-five. I do not have prostate cancer. I have had 2 biopsies with 26 cores and no indications of cancer is found. However, my prostate is very large. My VA doctor told me it's over 400 grams after she saw it on ultrasound, so that is why my psa is so high. so, no, psa is not always a marker for cancer. I am in my late 70's. I am taking 5mg cialis daily for my bph.
It occurrs to me that the reduction in deaths from prostate cancer happened just about the time that many people stopped smoking and fewer young people started, It will be interesting to see what influence (if any) vaccination with mRNA vaccines has.

Probably, it's been known for at least 40 years that there are not enough people working to pay for the pensions of those retiring after years of Government mismanagement spending pension funds. I had an elevated PSA for 20 years. During that period it varied between 6 to 17.6. My PSA free to Total score was always over 30 which means I had a 1in 8 probability of getting cancer of the prostate. Pretty good odds, considering that two biopsys were negative. Prostatitis was the diagnosis. Finally after 20 years I had an MRI done on my prostate because my psa jumped from 9 to 11 and the doctor said that was a red flag. Red flag my ass. The MRI analysis was a score of 2, which means an enlarged prostate with inflamation. So the doctor ordered up Finasteride which is a drug that blocks the inflammatory hormone in the prostate from working. My peeing improved 100% and my psa went from 11 to 4.8. You guessed right. The Finasteride went to work and shrunk my prostate. 20 years putting up with this PSA bullshit worrying about cancer, should I have another biopsy. How many thousands of other men are there out there puttiing up with prostatitis when there is a drug that may work wonders for you if the doctor has the brains to prescribe it for you.
After an urine infection, i have approache an urologist he suggested an urine routine and culture. The result there found no bacteria so gone for scan and found enlarged prostate then suggested for psa blood test and the psa came 27.5. They suspected for prostate cancer and asked me for a mri scan. MRI result shows chances for prostate cancer. Then the urologist to confirm took biopsy. Thank god biopsy result came negative for cancer. It shows a high psa value neednot be straight away related to cancer.
of course, psa increase indicates some injury of prostate, so the increase after ejaculation, in case of inflammation and even after driving a bycicle.
*Anyway...a little-known information...a biopsy on its own...often...can lead to a tumor becoming malignant by contaminated instruments...already proven in many instances to not become totally sterilized...even after being sanitized using proper equipment..and procedures...Perhaps "liquid biopsy" could become a safer option from now on...*
I agree a hundred percent. The worst decision of my life was having a biopsy on my prostate about four months ago.. I am terrified that them poke in those needles and has spread it.

At 55yrs my psa was high I had no major symptoms yet had cancer in my prostate 20 samples all cancer was operated on 10 months later now at 66yrs still alive and glad I got tested even though I had to have 11 surgeries and now have a bag to piss into no cancer and glad I got check early.
Too many people worry about this crap, you'll know when something is very wrong, it's usually when it's too late to do anything about it..... but it's much better than the alternative.
Im 70 now. When I was 62. My PSA was high. Biopsy showed gleason 6 cancer. This year psa elevated to 12. New biopsy showed a Gleason 7. 4+3. Now considering options.
My husband has been getting a few UTIS each year for the last two years. It leads to kidney infections. He has had a few cystoscopies and biopsy done on hs bladder. They say he has an enlarged prostate. He only gets up once a night, aged 62. He has had the urine flow test, which was normal. so now the consultant will be ringing him with the next steps.
Hi Today the consultant rang and said all was ok with the flow test so he just needs another cystoscopy next June. But to me there isn't getting to the root of why he keeps gettings UTIS. If it's a bacterial thing, that needs sorting. I find the UK terrible for treating proper causes, they just go straight to cystoscopies. @@JJ-vp3bd
Unless I missed some critical details, this long presentation offered no better alternative for prostate cancer screening. It is well knowns that an elevated total PSA by no means cancer, however, it does indicate that your prostate needs to be checked. There are also more detailed tests, for example total and free PSA, in which a % of free PSA provides a more accurate probability of cancer, and can be used to make a decision whether or not to MRI and biopsy. In my personal case, my PSA was above 4 several years ago. My urologist had me do a free PSA test, which showed that I had over 50% chance of cancer. I then followed up with MRI which also showed lesions, possibly malignant. Only then my urologist sent me for a MRI fusion biopsy. The result was that I had Gleason 6 cancer. Based on this, I was advised Active Surveillance. So, in my case having periodic PSA tests was very important and by no means waste of time/money, nor did it result in a wrong decision. If there is no alternative for a more accurate test, then eliminating PSA is absolutely wrong!
Im happy you are satisfied with your experience but your testimony confirms what this presentation is about. You did a bunch of testing with an end result of no treatment. An argument can be made that in the end the psychological stress is not worth it.
By the time a man gets to his 80's he will have some level of prostate cancer....that's a fact. Prior to the major outbreak of covid a Oxford virologist stated over 90% of the world's population will get covid...that doesn't mean your gonna die.

Paul Pugh, Don't bother they all come with bad side effects, just look it up and see for yourself. If your getting up and breaking your sleep, just eat 1and a 1/2 cucumbers 1/2 hour before you go to bed and you will sleep through the night and wake up restful. Remember not to drink anything 4 hours before going to sleep because it's liquid and will wake you, just the cucumbers which takes 6-8 hours to turn liquid plus two hours or so before you will pee, hence, a peaceful nights sleep. I reasoned it out and it works. When you find that it works you'll have the means to help others.
41 years ago I was told I had the "S$$t" and had 1 year to live. My family took out a $500,000 whole life insurance policy on myself. I'm 63 and have outlived both parents. It’s extremely concerning… I am supposed to agree or disagree with my urologist this month… agree on what? Why? When? And what are these experts going to find next and for how long will it be considered valid? I pray for them as much as for myself.
As an already sceptical man this just proves my theory regards cancer and HPV. Most of us humans have Human Papillomavirus (warts, verrucas, there are many types categorised by its location), its mechanism is to exist dormantly until the body recieves a shock or expiences trauma, this event triggers uncontrollable cell duplication ie cancer that spreads exponentially throughout the body. What better way to activate a cancer in a human than tell them the are going to die? A self fulfilling diagnosis.

My PSA has been rising slowly over the past 7 years. I first had just a biopsy, negative. The next time I had an MRI followed by another biopsy....negative. Now my urologist is suggesting another MRI and if necessary, another biopsy. My PSA is 8 and I have no symptoms.
PCR test, it’s inventor said it is being misused. It seems the same problematic issue, and I’m sure there will be another money spinning idea/invention/discovery that will be misused.
Had a PSA of 3.7 it elevated year over year for three years. Had a biopsy, it was positive for cancer, a Gleason score of 7 (4+3). 9 of 12 samples tested positive for cancer cells. MRI with contrast showed two legions with high probability of cancer. Caught it early, encalsulated and had radiation treatment. So the protocols work and likely saved my life.
The therapy today is far advanced from his time. Prostate cancer isn"t neccesarily a death sentence if caught early. This video is about putting into perspective what the test and can't do. I've viewed many videos and it comes down to diet and exercise in many cases. Had the psa test and rectal exam and everything within range. Wish you healthy life.
Don't know how old you are, but read years ago that this cancer typically being such a slow growing cancer that often better to monitor rather than too quick to surgery.. Sounds like your psa levels increasing year over year does not mean that the cancer was progressing in sync with the psa. The Dr. is now explaining the same point to this other fellow that does like the test. The fellow just can't get it out of his head that the cancer and the PSA are progressing hand in hand. Would be interesting to watch Dr. Ablin in a structured discussion with PSA supporters. And they also alluding to the notion he is out of step with recent developments. I haven't seen any evidence of that. Could be.

DOUBLING OF PSA VALUES Not generally known that some doctors just assume that the PSA test reading has to be doubled for a diagnosis. So a reading of 3 is boosted to 6, and a 7 becomes 14........etc. James Hennighan Yorkshire, England
It may be that I’m biased, but this guy makes sense to me.
At 54 I was about to become a father for the first time. I thought it would be prudent to get like insurance. The insurer required a physical including blood tests, before approval. (I was in excellent physical condition, running three miles a day, working out two times a week…)
Well, everything was fine except my PSA came back .05 above “normal.” (I think normal is a number like 4.5 or so….)
So they denied me.
I found a doctor (I had never had a regular doctor before…) and had a check up. He ordered another complete blood panel and in this one my PSA was even higher. Like “six.”
He had done a digital but he wanted to send me to a “specialist” i.e. a urologist.
So this urologist (who was a big guy with fingers the size of bananas) does a digital and orders another blood test. It comes back 7.5.
So he says let’s do a biopsy.
So here we are, relying solely on the PSA ti do this invasive procedure.
On the day of, they gave me Valium and used a local on the prostate itself.
The administration of the local hurt like HELL. It wasn’t enough…the whole process was VERY painful.
And it seemed weird that the urologist was just randomly selecting EIGHT places in my prostate to sample.
Then for almost two weeks after, ruination was difficult and I was required to whack off at least once a day and I was ejaculating blood for the first three days.
This was the worst experience of my life and that’s what I told my doctor.
The biopsy (which I refer to as a “poke and hope”) came back negative.
We did another PSA and it came back at like, 14.
The urologist said we would look at scheduling another biopsy. WTF.
I said to my doctor, “Don’t you think my high PSA might have something to do with my prostate being violently assaulted?”
He paused and said he would try treating me for prostatitis and put me on antibiotics.
Next test my PSA dropped to FIVE.
Never went back to that urologist.
Fast forward 8-9 years.
New doctor, new testing. He says maybe you should see a urologist…you know just to have a look.
So I found one and the first thing I did was relate my horrible experience and told him up front, not doing that again.
Well, he does digital exams, blood tests, pee tests, blah blah.
Tells me my prostate is slightly enlarged (no shit? I’m over 60!) and he feel’s something weird and wants to do a biopsy.
I said no. Not unless he know specifically where he’s poking. Well, he couldn’t say.
I said I just read in a medical journal of a new MRI procedure that cans identify irregularities in the prostate to provide a more accurate result. (Why hadn’t HE learned if this?)
So he says okay…so I go to get this approved by Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they deny…because their physician leading the decision making doesn’t find it acceptable yet….
Urologist says he won’t see me again unless I agree to a biopsy.
Fuck them all.
I stopped seeing “urologists” and stick with my annual physical.
I’m over 70 and FINALLY, am getting back to being able to pee (and ejaculate) normally. Yes, that initial biopsy debilitated my functions down there for this long…
So yeah…I’m biased.
Trauma to the prostate will raise a PSA. I get mine checked every 8 months but always wait at least three days after sex or any unusual injury in that region.

They do not mention the potential serious side effects of the biopsy itself. About 10 years ago I had the PSA test through my family my doctor. It came back at 5. He referred me to a urologist who did a biopsy. Less than 2 days later my family had to rush me to the emergency room. Right after I got there I could no longer stand. A UTI had progressed through sepsis to septic shock. I was on the ICU for 3 days before the antibiotics worked and I was discharged. After the antibiotics that I took home finished the UTI came back. After more antibiotics finished the infection spread to my testicles. It was 8 months before the last ultrasound showed the infection had cleared. After almost dying I am not going to any more urologists. I will take my chances. My PSA is still 5.
And there was no cancer.

My blood pressure (BP) is average for someone my age
But they changed BP ranges (e.g., high, low, etc), so I'm now considered "at risk", but wasn't before the change.
I suspect the change in ranges was done to sell BP drugs.
Similarly, they classify me as "obese", but I am fit and a little chubby-- no where close to the normal meaning of "obese".
Again, I suspect the classification is made to sell drugs.
I was 7.8 psa 15 years ago. Refused a biopsy and refused the psa after being hounded by my doc to see a urologist. 15 years later, I am still here. Peeing is now more frequent, but what can you expect in my high 70's. Still no psa test either. God has my time down.

I’m in that situation now. I’m 57 and my PSA is 7.7. I’ve seen three Urologists and each want me to get a biopsy. One highly recommended getting my prostate removed IF they find cancer. WTF this is the only answer the medical industry has come up with for diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer? If this is how breast cancer was treated women would marching in the streets for justice.

At my age I have BPH (enlarged) prostate as harder to pee unless I drink a lot of water, and I have tried the saw palmetto route etc to no avail with other naturals. Other than that, I am fine. That biopsy screening, is horrible I hear, and personally I think it is an opening for surgery for $$$$$$ if a person did have a cancer biopsy, all the needles they would poke one with in the biopsy would certainly be a problem, not to mention infections. Simply put, it’s not for me and God has protected me from those butchers. And yes, they get angry when you refuse. Big deal. It’s all money today. Every horrible Covid shot they gave , gave them doctors 100.00 plus/ patient.

I’m 81 and had recent surgery for a swollen prostate affecting ability to pee. Still HAVE a prostate even when my PSA was as high as 12 more than 15 years ago. Two buddies had elevated PSAs about the same time and had surgeries. One died of cancer a year later and the other wears a diaper. Both wanted me to have surgery too. Drs are paid for “procedures.” I don’t let them “practice”on me. I prefer to be proactive about my health.

You only have surgeries or other treatment if you are confirmed to have prostate cancer. It must be confirmed by Biopsy. The only time such treatment might not be recommened is if one's age and/or health would cause one not be robust enough to withstand the treatment.

Couple of few years ago my physical showed my PSA was a 4.0 which is considered high. My dad was always getting biopsies because his prosate was very large and his PSA has been going up for decades but they never found cancer. I go to a urologist who does the finger test and tells me if feels off and I should get a biopsy right away. You know where they stick 12 needles from inside your colon, thru the colon walls and into the fairly sterlie prostate and randomly hope they hit any cancer. And hopefully if they hit cancer and drag the cancer soaked needle out it does not spead the cancer. I told him an MRI would make better sense based on what my Dad had been thru and he told me there wasnt that much time and "if you were my brother or dad Iwould tell me to do the biopsy right now. " He had just about convinced me to do it when..
I got to the front desk and knowing the urgency ask how fast could they get the bipsy done and she tells me they are booked up for 3 - 4 months. So much for the urgency. I saw another urologiest and asked for an MRI and he had the MRI done which was level 2 which is the best you get with an enlarged prostate and no sign af any cancer.
I really feel like the first urologist would byopsy a woman for prostate cancer to keep the calendar full and the cash flowing.

A radical prostatectomy will not cure the metastatic portion since it has spread to other organs. Doesn't it take radiation to cure that?

I reckon the high grades, the G8, 9 & 10 , (that’s the E5’s) they are off and spreading themselves around from day 1, , before it’s even detectable.
Having worked as a Lab Automation Engineer for 2 companies I am very sceptical of many tests.Some are good but many can be very unreliable. It is often the immunoassay and PCR trats that are sometimes more dubious. The Chemistry tests seem to be fairly robust.
Also one of the companies was unethically promoting more tests than necessary and against the health guidelines to produce more profitable returns.
As with Covid pcr tests they were unreliable and could very easily be manipulated to give everyone a false positive

At the VA, my urologist suggested a biopsy when my PSA was 4.7. When I got home, I looked up as much as I could on the www. A biopsy is 12 core samples of the prostate. I thought that was an awful assault on an already sick prostate, especially, it being a hit or miss way to find out if I had cancer. I refused the biopsy.
Now after watching Dr. Ablin, I see I made the correct decision.
After over 50 years as a Family Practitioner, I would add another caution to the interpretation of PSA. Before you refer the patient with an elevated PSA to the urologist, be sure you have ruled out the posibility of prostatitis. It is more common than you think and in many patients the symptoms are those of BPH or an aging prostate and not those of infection. My recommendation is to do a urinalysis and culture and even consider a culture of an ejaculate, then give a therapeutic trial of an antibiotic( 4 weeks of a antibiotic that covers urnary pathogens) and recheck the PSA. I have had numerous cases where the PSA normalized or returned to baseline.
In 1999 urologist suggested a biopsy (PSA 6.3). I was visited Poland and see a urologist professor. He performed probe view a prostate on the screen ( only enlarge prostate) and prescribe me Finasteride 5mg a day and told me: don't let anybody touch your e..s. After 2 month PSA went down to 3.1 and in august 2023 is btw. 3.1-3.3.

V.A. is my "Obama care" provider. I asked my (now retired) primary care physician about the PSA test and was told that it is no longer recommended because of the very reasons mentioned in this video: false positives leading to invasive tests, etc.
The PSA test is like taking your blood pressure. It can vary from one day to the next. Refrain from sex for three days before having a PSA test, as this will lower your number.

Yes its gotten very bad in the west. One reason for that is women. Another is corruption. Another is medical orgs, which alledgedly do the thinking for the medical doctors.
Granted the field of an MD is huge and only got more complex with 'diversity' and 'equality' bs. And in fact, i dont think it werent even these mds that acted poorly in this situation.
At the time, end 20 i think, i had to go to a lungspecialist, woman. My MD had listened to my lungs and said he heard a crackling sound, so suspected fluid behind my lungs wich was not good. So as i was there, had to have lung xrays and she listened and they wanted to do a breath test things and i refused that, bc i didnt trust breathing in that thing and even more so, out of that thing. It was all safe she said, but no way i was going to do that.
So we sat there for some time and i had dove deep in all i could find on the 'disease'. So i asked, do you still have people with that disease? Oh yes, she said, all of them in the ward had it. I said, all of them? Yes, all of them. So i asked how do you know? I mean, obviously they all have lung problems, but isnt there influenze anymore? TB? Other?

He got pissed off and said that wasnt true. It was a rumor Trump had started and that he was an idiot. I said IT DOES WORK and ive read all the medical studies on it. And it wasnt Trump that started that either. Now he got even more pissed off, but so was I.
He yelled at me that he had read the studies and it didnt work. I yelled back LIAR. I HAVE READ the studies and if you had, youd know it too. so you are LYING. Its not Trump thats the idiot, but you are! How can you even start on politics??? FOOL.

About ten years ago I received scant information indicating that a rectal biopsy can cause cancer. This lecture confirms that info but far more in depth. I suspect that this is yet another case of mainly money motivated medical money making swindles. Omitting or refusing to release public information adds to my suspicions... I am 72 years young with no prostrate problem. I do eat meat and have the occasional few whiskies. I do enjoy and love life. Thanks Dr.Ablin for a very informative lecture.

Don't know about rectal cancer and an exam but I did read like 600 people a year in u.s. die from bacterial infection received from the scope cuz the autoclave and cleaning procedures just can't be perfected. I'm 74 and hadn't had a PSA for 10 years (2.8 back then) when my current doc said "you're healthy, fit, and active and you might live for a lot longer than 10 years if you don't have prostate cancer- let's check your PSA, even though it's against protocol." He explained the risk/benefits, and I'm a retired oncology RN who had no symptoms. It came back 8.2 and with the digital exam found a lump on the left side. My later biopsy showed intermediate grade high risk cancer. I explored TULSA and Proton therapy but for a number of reasons it turned out that robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery at a University Hospital was my best option. It's only been 2 weeks, and I'm still leaking a little, but it has been a relatively easy recovery. I'm hoping my Kegel exercises with stop that leaking. The post op pathology report was much worse than the biopsy report, but lymph nodes and margins were clear, so I think they caught the cancer before it escaped the capsule. His point that men have gotten over treated is valid, but teaching us to not over-react to low risk cancer levels is the a better approach than to ignore one of the diagnostic tools available. I joined a couple of research studies, giving blood and permission to use my scans and tissue samples to help develop other tests and markers to help future patients.

From the little that I know about the needle biopsy process, wouldn't the puncturing of cancerous gland tissue and the retraction of the needle actually CREATE an opportunity for "cancer escape from the capsule"? After over 50 years as a Family Practitioner, I would add another caution to the interpretation of PSA. Before you refer the patient with an elevated PSA to the urologist, be sure you have ruled out the posibility of prostatitis. It is more common than you think and in many patients the symptoms are those of BPH or an aging prostate and not those of infection. My recommendation is to do a urinalysis and culture and even consider a culture of an ejaculate, then give a therapeutic trial of an antibiotic and recheck the PSA. I have had numerous cases where the PSA normalized or returned to baseline.

A radio oncologist once asked me to have a look at PSA data he had collected from many patients. I told him almost immediately the changes he observed were not statistically significant and that he couldn't do any screening based on it. That was 20y ago. PSA level changes all the time depending on your activities. I can't believe how poor at math doctors are,, and this is very concerning.

What I did was to stop eating any crappy food which were high in sugar and additives, drink good green tea with added fresh lemon crushed cloves and honey or maple syrup, each morning I take Saw Palmetto tablets and zinc tablet. Every morning I have two fried eggs in olive oil and one whole avocado, then the most important thing is to sprinkle half teaspoon of Turmeric power with black pepper. Turmeric is an excellent anti inflammatory for the whole body especially the prostrate. A good site for unbiased info on UA-cam is Dr. Berg, free info and he’s not selling anything.👍

We don’t have accurate information to make decisions because our doctors don’t , they have only what drug companies are flooding the marketing with. We go to doctors because we believe they have the knowledge and our health in their better interest. Drug and insurance companies only serve their own interests at public expense. I sincerely hope that since covid, patients the world over, like me, have become a lot more skeptical with what we are told. A friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer in his 70's but used a Chinese herbalists advice to only eat raw vegetables for 2 years or longer, no other treatment. He became very thin but felt healthy.....lived into his 90’s and died of old age.
All his friends with the same diagnosis and conventional treatment died after only a few years. Maybe he was lucky who knows.

For many years I have had basement low PSA. This test should never have been approved for widespread use if it's extremely unreliable like you say.
The test, itself, is not bad. It is the over-reliance on a test that does not offer clear guidance, that's the problem.
The Godfather of the PSA test says today do not use it it's basically useless go with a PHI test

The prostate business is most definitely a racket, just like most other aspects of our truly lame medicine for profit healthcare. And I learned a lot about the view of it from the vantage point of hospitals when my wife went through a medical horror story of the first order that caused her unnecessary premature death. Also learned a lot about medical case lawyers as well as acquiring a great deal of knowledge about the games doctors play to minimize their liability once they realize they have screwed the pooch. I had a little something myself with my MD.
I dont really want to talk about it, but i was there for an appointment. And all those get registered.
I was desperate. Took pills. Did something i shouldnt have. Woke up in ICU.
Then the next day was brought to prison.
Lawyer came at some point and i told what i knew. I told everyone, bc im an honest person.
So i said i had been to the doc. He says well then, bla bla. I said i dont want to do that. Its not my docs fault. So he said ok.
He requested my medical record anyway and one day he came with that pack of paper. So he says. its not in there that you were there prior. And it wasnt.
So he had deleted it. To cover his ass.
Now its not his fault. How was he to know i would freak out? I didnt even know myself.
When i got back home, years later i called, but they didnt want me as patient again. I said ok, but can i at least have a talk with him? Ive been with that doc for over 20 years. Nope, he didnt want to talk with me either.
I found that such a bummer.
Then i read what was left of my medical dossier, bc my lawyer had already 'cleaned it up' (... ????)
I was 52 at the time. It was on my BD. So all my medical shoulda been in there. Some old stuff was still there, nothing out of the ordinary, but when i got to his 20 years, which is also when i got psych problems, depression and so, he had written very odd things.
So i started cleaning up myself and burnt it in the woodburner. Nothing was left. It was either irrelevant to anything i can ever get, or negative things about me that he had written.
So when i got to my new doc, he wanted my medical records. I said, i cleaned it up, theres nothing left.
He frowned. And then i told him i do not ever wish to see anything written down from me, that i say to him. He agreed to that.
Specially now, that 'big brother' has its claws into everything, you dont want things passed on that you tell your MD in confidence.

A while back, I had a good urologist, who supported me in holding off on anything radical in way of surgery or doing biopsies (and just kind've "keeping an eye out" for any changes)(with a somewhat elevated PSA, but--I understand--what was fairly typical for a senior, and a distinctly enlarged prostate (and SOME signs of nocturia and night-time urgency). But, since I moved to two other urologists, all I'm hearing have been DEMANDS for biopsies!! One of them even suggested I forget about subsequent visits, as we weren't really doing anything useful, as he put it!! In recent history (due to Chiropractic and Acupuncture...and some key supplements), I've seen an abatement of prostate-related signs and symptoms...e.g.. now, I might have to get up at night...about once/night...which doesn't seem to be a big deal...and--I'm pretty sure--reflects a shrinkage of my prostate, as my lower abdomen seems smaller these days. I'm looking forward to an ultrasound--in the near future--to verify this. And everything urogenital is working just fine, thank you!!
I'm going to add that I understand that MANY things can affect the PSA levels...EVEN just having just had sex, so it's a test which must be used with considerable discretion (and common sense)!!! ; )
Had PSA test 13 years ago....reading was 6.6 and after a dre test,
my gp said there was an issue. Went to local urology consultant and he thought it was cancer. Biopsy came back negative
for cancer but said there was an infection which was not prostatitus. Went on course of antiobiotics. After this course,second psa test showed 6.5.....very same result.
13 years later all is well,waterworks fine. What gives? After scaring the hell out of me there was nothing wrong with my prostate.
I just eat plenty tomatoes,cruciferous veg, green tea,etc. I have never felt so well in all my life and I am now 67!
All I am saying is these postaste tests are not reliable,especially when they rely so much on dre exams and psa tests.

When we take into account that humans, including doctors, are driven by self-interest you can't help but recognise that _the interpretation of results will be influenced by the desire to make some money out of a patient who is already vulnerable and also gullible because the doctor is a "doctor" not just a lay person._ So the power of the patient to be sceptical is removed and it is no wonder so many men end up being the guinea pigs.
I think that, recognising that we will all die when our time comes, it is best to maintain serious diet protocol -- prevention is better than cure.

I'm 76 and my PSA levels keep going up, so I had a biopsy at my VA Medical Facility. I have 3 malignant nodules. The doctor said he won't treat the cancer because I can live another 12 to 15 years before the cancer kills me. VA doctors are not under pressure to do surgeries like in the civilian world.
You may want to rethink your options... otherwise you might end up spending those last years in and out of the hospital and in significant pain.

What he didn't tell you is that without surgery, you will have to take hormone blockers, and chemo drugs. You will be fighting it for years. Who cares if you live till 90 if your last 10 years is one of fatigue, weakness, nocturia, and full of TV watching. Don't buy this guy's BS. It also depends on your Gleason score and how aggressive it is. Facts are prostate cancer is undertreated for men who have longevity in their family and it does kill them over years usually with painful bone metastasis.

Surgery carries significant risks of chronic pain.
Biopsy likewise.
They’re not purely an economic thing, where a ruck guy gets it done & might benefit & the poor guy doesn’t & might miss that cancer.
If you proceed down the biopsy path, three things.
1. You’re quite UNlikely to get a definite answer. Now you’re neither a cancer patient nor are you well. Probably this’ll be true for the rest of your life. Consider the psychological price you & your loved ones will pay.
2. You’re running a not insignificant risk of pain that can be persistent and even chronic. That’s my situation though how I got there wasn’t a prostate biopsy but a bladder problem that was mishandled.
3. You might get a result that isn’t definitively bad but your doctor is “concerned”. You’ll.be back in a year and you’ll probably do the same things again.
I recognize it’s possible that by proceeding along the path of a regular medical (even though you’re perfectly well), getting an elevated PSA, having a biopsy, finding tumours that haven’t yet metastasised and having surgery & radiotherapy, not having significant side effects that just maybe, your life has been extended. Isn’t medicine brilliant!? Yet if you put 1000 men through that funnel and I’m almost certain that net harm will result.
What we’re not told before getting unnecessarily medicalised is that this pattern isn’t uncommon. Prostates are particularly bad for this, but the potential is there for false positives and false negatives in just about all medical screening funnels.

I find Dr. Stephan's comments most enlightening. He recognizes that PSA alone is a poor test,
but along with other factors and tests, one can differentiate aggressive cancers from indolent cases in an increasing percentage of men. And, as he points out, if the patient with the 240 PSA never was screened, then he would surely not be found in time to possibly save his life.

I am very thankful that when I went to see my Doctor when I was 55 years old for a routine physical that my Doctor knew these things that Dr. Ablin speaks about. I asked about getting the screening and he told me that PSA screening is a waste of time and didn't do it, and briefly explained the reasons to me.
I was lucky. I knew many men who had the screening, were diagnosed with prostate cancer, and suffered the results of the treatment which of course they carry daily until the ends of their lives.

Cancer diagnosis and treatment are such big business that I don't trust anything they say - I verify. For the same reason, I haven't ever had a mammogram. Data demonstrates that more cancer has been caused by repeated mammograms than caught by them.
I agree. I had a doctor friend who told me the amount of radiation used in mammograms was more dangerous.
I am 50 and was just diagnosed with high grade prostate cancer with extracapsular extension and invasion of both neurovascular bundles. I was screened because I complained of a slightly overactive bladder. My PSA was only 4.9. MRI imaged tumor and biopsy confirmed gleason 8. This test in my case saved me from metastatic prostate cancer, so I guess I'm thankful for the screening.

This is for another type of discussion but; if your partner ate a pan of them cheap noodles with little packet of flavour, then an hour or so later you drank their urine, it will taste very salty and slightly spicy. Wait another hour or so and taste your own and guess what - hardly any difference!!
So yes I get 100 % we are what the creatures we eat are because our bodies are not just metabolisers of food, but also filters, things like heavy metals get stuck I beleive. I was never screened. After nearly 8 months of progressively more difficult urination I had to get checked. A blood test showed a PSA level around 230, biopsies came back all 12 samples positive for cancer and a bone scan showed several hotspots, one relating to the pins and needles that had developed in one leg. After some treatments I'm still alive and the pins and needles is gone but the cancer is regarded as incurable.
Hi I'm 65yrs young and for the last 14 month my psa level is 12.4. My Urologist sent me for an MRI scan and the results came back showing no cancer but an inflammation of the prostrate and enlarged prostrate too. My Urologist said i have prostatitis and this is the reason of my high PSA level. I suggested a biopsy but the Urologist said their is no target with the biopsy needle as the scan is showing nothing suspicious.
Im a little nervous as both my Dad and Grandad both passed away with prostrate cancer.
I even thought about going private and just removing the the prostrate even though no cancer is showing. Its just the worry about thinking of prostrate cancer...

If you go back to 2011, you will find that a panel of doctors tasked with studying the efficacy of PSA testing, recommended that it be stopped.
Why?
Because they had many years of data for both pre- PSA testing and after PSA testing to analyze and they found no change in the mortality rate.
What did that mean?
It meant that PSA testing wasn’t helping.
How could that be?
It could only be explained by the realization that they were dealing with two kinds of situations. For some men the Cancer was never going to do more than grow slowly in their Prostate. Those men don’t need to be treated. They are going to die from something else. For other men, their Cancer has already spread outside the Prostate by the time the PSA test detects it. Removing or irradiating their Prostate is unnecessary because the Cancer is no longer contained in the Prostate. They are likely going to die from Prostate Cancer, because there is no treatment to stop it from continuing to grow. Hormone therapy to block testosterone can slow it down for a while, until the Cancer cells that aren’t affected by the hormone therapy multiply enough to be fatal.
So, why treat anyone?
That was a good question that didn’t go unnoticed by the industry . The many years of data showed that treatment based on PSA tests had no effect on mortality rates. Half the men needed no treatment because their Cancer was going to stay put and for the other half, it was going to be too late to do any good. Ouch.
So, what happened?
Those doctors who made the recommendation to stop PSA testing might have been the last of a dying breed that meant to keep their oath to do no harm. There was no point in cutting people up or in irradiating their prostates, plus everything around them. Those both can often cause unnecessary impotence and/or incontinence, as well as other medical problems.
The industry fought back by trotting celebrities out to the Media where they swore they were cured. They just happened to fall into the lucky group whose Cancer was never going to metastasize, but no one told them that. They were like all the other men who thought the treatment cured them. The public couldn’t understand why the panel made that recommendation and there was enough backlash to give the win to the industry. The panel knew the public was being hoodwinked. That using anecdotal data was unscientific and unethical but could do nothing about it. The industry was going to keep making their money on doing useless PSA testing and on doing useless/harmful operations and radiation treatments.
So, all those PSA tests and all those surgeries and radiation treatments since 2011 were unnecessary?
Yes, that is the bottom line.
So what is really needed?
1. They need a test that detects Prostate Cancer before it can leave the Prostate (metastasize).
2. They need a way to recognize those men in the group where their Cancer is never going to leave their Prostate.
Are they working on that?
I don’t follow what they’re doing in that regard, even though I am one of the unlucky group. My question is this “Will it make them more money? If they think not or they think it will make them less money, what would be their motive?

The findings of the panel, confirmed a prior study in Sweden, where men who found out they had Prostate Cancer, were asked if they would do “watchful waiting” (ie. no treatment) to see if their group had a different life expectancy than the treated group. The study results were “no difference was found in death rate or life expectancy.” I found this information back in 2002 or around then, when I was researching because I had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
So, how is it that I am still alive, if I was in the unlucky group?
Two tears after my radiation treatment, my PSA started to slowly climb back up from 1.0. That was the indicator that my Cancer had escaped my Prostate. At that point, I chose to do nothing. I had no more PSA tests and no hormone treatment. In 2014, I had an injury to my Piriformis muscle that would not respond to Physio. I decided to have my PSA checked because by this time even sitting down was too painful. My PSA came back at nearly 3,800. I knew it was time for the hormone blocker treatment to give me more time. At the same time, I started to look for alternative treatments, because I knew that hormone blocking was just going to delay the inevitable. Later, I found a study from Denmark that showed I had < 1% chance of surviving 5 years. I came across Rick Simpson and Phoenix Tears. That was the only thing that showed promise, so I followed his recommendations. My Oncologist noticed how unusually rapidly my PSA was dropping. I told him why that might be the case. All he said was “Whatever your doing, keep doing it. I believe that is why I am still alive 10 years after my odds of surviving just 5 years were less than 1%.

In 2013 had a friend that had a PSA test done about the same time as I did. Mine was to 5.0 up from 4.2 a year earlier. My friend had waited way too long to find out he had prostate cancer and he died from it in early 2015. Mine was caught early due to the PSA test and I had radiation treatments in late 2013. For the last ten years my PSA has run around 0.12 and I'm now 75. My two cents.
When my PSA went to 15.5 we knew something needed to be done. So far after a few years it flared again so treatment needed to be done. I'm still alive.

Mine went from 10 to 3 in a month with diet change, use of CBD, and topical application of 70% DMSO/30% Aloe vera gel on the perineum (after thorough washing, rinsing and disinfection with peroxide spray).

My PSA was 4.5. Urologist took 6 needle biopsies which 4 were cancer 3+3 on Gleason. Has nerve sparing surgery and biopsy showed that cancer "legs" had grown out of the tumors and were about to breakout of the prostate gland. The PSA Test saved my life at 56 years old!

I'm 75 and recently diagnosed benign enlarged prostate and a negative PSA - but offered surgery on the basis of a urinary flow test. (which I have declined and sought symptomatic urinary treatment via medications). Without an actual malignacy identified via biopsy, I'm only inclined to symptomatic treatment via daily oral medication.
Obviously my clinic isn't properly informing me of what hazards surgery presents. I don't even have any specific description of which proceedure my occur.
No MRI has been offered. I suspect it's considered prohibitively expensive for my insurance.
Years ago a doctor said I might need a biopsy PSA NUMBERS . Run like crazy that was 20yrs ago . His patients looked like walking death . He was from India and needed money.
I DEFINITELY hear you!!! As it happens, I had a pretty good urologist "back when," but the last two have been horrible. They both wanted to do that (12 sample) biopsy...which I consider invasive and unnecessary. Not only that, but the usual "manual" prostate exam (with him) LAST TIME was long and uncomfortable. I am not lying...when I say that I was SERIOUSLY considering filing a police report...based on charges of sexual assault. BTW, the PSA is often over-valued. People I trust (in the medical community have advised that the PSA can be elevated due to many things (even having had sex the day before!). Mine (in my seventies) has been a very stable 7 for years.... and I anticipate NO problem. I might add that all urogenital functions are 100% (and enhanced by acupuncture and Chiro. (Dr. TCH)

my psa is always over 25. yes, twenty-five. I do not have prostate cancer. I have had 2 biopsies with 26 cores and no indications of cancer is found. However, my prostate is very large. My VA doctor told me it's over 400 grams after she saw it on ultrasound, so that is why my psa is so high. so, no, psa is not always a marker for cancer. I am in my late 70's. I am taking 5mg cialis daily for my bph.
I have a PSA of just over 13....recent test. No cancer....very enlarged prostate. I also do .5mg Cialis daily to mitigate urinary symptoms.

Probably, it's been known for at least 40 years that there are not enough people working to pay for the pensions of those retiring after years of Government mismanagement spending pension funds. I had an elevated PSA for 20 years. During that period it varied between 6 to 17.6. My PSA free to Total score was always over 30 which means I had a 1in 8 probability of getting cancer of the prostate. Pretty good odds, considering that two biopsys were negative. Prostatitis was the diagnosis. Finally after 20 years I had an MRI done on my prostate because my psa jumped from 9 to 11 and the doctor said that was a red flag. Red flag my ass. The MRI analysis was a score of 2, which means an enlarged prostate with inflamation. So the doctor ordered up Finasteride which is a drug that blocks the inflammatory hormone in the prostate from working. My peeing improved 100% and my psa went from 11 to 4.8. You guessed right. The Finasteride went to work and shrunk my prostate. 20 years putting up with this PSA bullshit worrying about cancer, should I have another biopsy. How many thousands of other men are there out there puttiing up with prostatitis when there is a drug that may work wonders for you if the doctor has the brains to prescribe it for you.

After an urine infection, i have approache an urologist he suggested an urine routine and culture.
The result there found no bacteria so gone for scan and found enlarged prostate then suggested for psa blood test and the psa came 27.5.
They suspected for prostate cancer and asked me for a mri scan.
MRI result shows chances for prostate cancer. Then the urologist to confirm took biopsy.
Thank god biopsy result came negative for cancer.
It shows a high psa value neednot be straight away related to cancer.

My MRI scan was all clear at 17 PSA. Opened me up I was riddled. MRI scans are not absolute and at 27 PSA u need a biopsy.
*Anyway...a little-known information...a biopsy on its own...often...can lead to a tumor becoming malignant by contaminated instruments...already proven in many instances to not become totally sterilized...even after being sanitized using proper equipment..and procedures...Perhaps "liquid biopsy" could become a safer option from now on...*

At 55yrs my psa was high I had no major symptoms yet had cancer in my prostate 20 samples all cancer was operated on 10 months later now at 66yrs still alive and glad I got tested even though I had to have 11 surgeries and now have a bag to piss into no cancer and glad I got check early.
Too many people worry about this crap, you'll know when something is very wrong, it's usually when it's too late to do anything about it..... but it's much better than the alternative.

Im 70 now. When I was 62. My PSA was high. Biopsy showed gleason 6 cancer. This year psa elevated to 12. New biopsy showed a Gleason 7. 4+3. Now considering options.

My husband has been getting a few UTIS each year for the last two years. It leads to kidney infections. He has had a few cystoscopies and biopsy done on hs bladder. They say he has an enlarged prostate. He only gets up once a night, aged 62. He has had the urine flow test, which was normal. so now the consultant will be ringing him with the next steps.

Hi Today the consultant rang and said all was ok with the flow test so he just needs another cystoscopy next June. But to me there isn't getting to the root of why he keeps gettings UTIS. If it's a bacterial thing, that needs sorting. I find the UK terrible for treating proper causes, they just go straight to cystoscopies. @@JJ-vp3bd

Unless I missed some critical details, this long presentation offered no better alternative for prostate cancer screening. It is well knowns that an elevated total PSA by no means cancer, however, it does indicate that your prostate needs to be checked. There are also more detailed tests, for example total and free PSA, in which a % of free PSA provides a more accurate probability of cancer, and can be used to make a decision whether or not to MRI and biopsy.
In my personal case, my PSA was above 4 several years ago. My urologist had me do a free PSA test, which showed that I had over 50% chance of cancer. I then followed up with MRI which also showed lesions, possibly malignant. Only then my urologist sent me for a MRI fusion biopsy. The result was that I had Gleason 6 cancer. Based on this, I was advised Active Surveillance.
So, in my case having periodic PSA tests was very important and by no means waste of time/money, nor did it result in a wrong decision.
If there is no alternative for a more accurate test, then eliminating PSA is absolutely wrong!
Im happy you are satisfied with your experience but your testimony confirms what this presentation is about. You did a bunch of testing with an end result of no treatment. An argument can be made that in the end the psychological stress is not worth it.

Paul Pugh, Don't bother they all come with bad side effects, just look it up and see for yourself. If your getting up and breaking your sleep, just eat 1and a 1/2 cucumbers 1/2 hour before you go to bed and you will sleep through the night and wake up restful. Remember not to drink anything 4 hours before going to sleep because it's liquid and will wake you, just the cucumbers which takes 6-8 hours to turn liquid plus two hours or so before you will pee, hence, a peaceful nights sleep. I reasoned it out and it works. When you find that it works you'll have the means to help others.
41 years ago I was told I had the "S$$t" and had 1 year to live. My family took out a $500,000 whole life insurance policy on myself. I'm 63 and have outlived both parents. He lived to be 79 and she lived to be 89 years old. Although on disability I'm currently living off of the $500,000 life insurance policy. God is good!!!🎉

It’s extremely concerning… I am supposed to agree or disagree with my urologist this month… agree on what? Why? When? And what are these experts going to find next and for how long will it be considered valid? I pray for them as much as for myself.

As an already sceptical man this just proves my theory regards cancer and HPV. Most of us humans have Human Papillomavirus (warts, verrucas, there are many types categorised by its location), its mechanism is to exist dormantly until the body recieves a shock or expiences trauma, this event triggers uncontrollable cell duplication ie cancer that spreads exponentially throughout the body. What better way to activate a cancer in a human than tell them the are going to die? A self fulfilling diagnosis.

My PSA has been rising slowly over the past 7 years. I first had just a biopsy, negative. The next time I had an MRI followed by another biopsy....negative. Now my urologist is suggesting another MRI and if necessary, another biopsy. My PSA is 8 and I have no symptoms.

PCR test, it’s inventor said it is being misused. It seems the same problematic issue, and I’m sure there will be another money spinning idea/invention/discovery that will be misused.
if you meet a medical doctor: RUN
Had a PSA of 3.7 it elevated year over year for three years. Had a biopsy, it was positive for cancer, a Gleason score of 7 (4+3). 9 of 12 samples tested positive for cancer cells. MRI with contrast showed two legions with high probability of cancer. Caught it early, encalsulated and had radiation treatment. So the protocols work and likely saved my life.
The therapy today is far advanced from his time. Prostate cancer isn"t neccesarily a death sentence if caught early. This video is about putting into perspective what the test and can't do. I've viewed many videos and it comes down to diet and exercise in many cases. Had the psa test and rectal exam and everything within range. Wish you healthy life.

Don't know how old you are, but read years ago that this cancer typically being such a slow growing cancer that often better to monitor rather than too quick to surgery.. Sounds like your psa levels increasing year over year does not mean that the cancer was progressing in sync with the psa. The Dr. is now explaining the same point to this other fellow that does like the test. The fellow just can't get it out of his head that the cancer and the PSA are progressing hand in hand. Would be interesting to watch Dr. Ablin in a structured discussion with PSA supporters. And they also alluding to the notion he is out of step with recent developments. I haven't seen any evidence of that. Could be.

My take-away from this debacle is that I now understand how the Germans managed to lose two world wars in a row.

DOUBLING OF PSA VALUES
Not generally known that some doctors just assume that the PSA test reading has to be doubled for a diagnosis. So a reading of 3 is boosted to 6, and a 7 becomes 14........etc.
