Just got my ultra. I love how Apple build amazing features but you sort of have to learn them. I have noticed how amazing accurate the GPS is compared to other Apple Watches. I also love the 3D compass option. It looks so cool. Videos like this are amazing. As a wild camper I can now scrap my big Garmin GPS handheld. Brilliant my friend.
on the watch find the Waypointe screen. then at the very top is something called compass waypoints. Click on Compas waypoints and you see the waypoints that you have set with your watch. if you swipe that particular waypoint to the left it will get deleted.
Had the same question and came up with my own solution. If you want to stop targeting a waypoint, simply make a new way point, start targeting the new waypoint, and then delete the new waypoint. All your old waypoints stay intact and the compass (and target complications) stop pointing towards any target. A bit of a hack, but it works. So strange that the targeting UI just doesn’t have a stop button.
That’s a good tip! I’ve been doing the same thing for years on my iPhone by using pin drop for my parked car. Then I just go back to it by calling up the pin drop. Works very effectively. My car was a 2010 Honda Civic but it worked just the same way.
Nice video, thanks. I hope that one day Topo maps work worldwide on the Apple Watch. At that moment, I would consider switching from Garmin to Apple. I'm not an extremely sporty person, but I love hiking, and topo maps with a return back function have literally saved my life in a few cases
it's too bad but I do not have this app on my apple watch . The closest one I have available on applestore doesn't present the same options. Would you have a link for this app? I use a iPhone 15 plus and an apple watch 10
I have the ultra2 and I want to sell it to buy a serious watch for mapping and backtrack. I had the tactix delta and now my focus is the tactix 7 amoled
Cool I’ve had my Apple Watch Ultra for over a year and I knew how to make a waypoint, but I didn’t know how to get back to it and it seems like Apple is kind of hiding that as you have to like scroll all the way to the bottom. Now that I know about it, I thank you for helping me not get lost. I think I know how to use the backtrack feature, but I would love to see you demo that also if you feel like it Now the iPhone 15 and ultra two has this new ultra wide band. Hopefully they’ll update the AirTags and I would look forward to seeing your videos as I really enjoyed your AirTag videos in the past. I was in the mall and I gave my wife one of my AirTags in case we got separated and was kind of disappointed at how long it took to connect to the AirTag and she was only like 25 feet away. I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m not sure if there’s an issue as I seem to remember it working better in the past. I know many people think it’s not worth it but I did upgrade my Apple Watch to version two of the ultra and I do feel it’s worth it for me personally because I do like the on device Siri and I am enjoying the double tap feature, especially in the car, pausing and playing music or podcasts. Especially for some reason in my car. If I tap the power button to turn off the power, it used to pause the playback but now that doesn’t work it continues to play for some reason, and with the double tap feature, that’s nice

Thanks so much brother, you helped me so much!! Hello from Southern California, USA, God Bless you, this is Alan.
That’s quite a lot of different stages to remember to deal with for that

Totally agree. I’ll try to make more of this videos :)
Great video. But how do u cancel the waypoints when no longer needed?
did you find an answer?
@@blakedesjardins8119 no have never figured it out

Thanks for this tip. I was trying to figure this out today. Appreciate you putting this together.

The best and simple explanation. Thanks.

That's a really nice feature. I saw in my series 9 that it automatically saved the location where I parked my car lol
Thank you
Great video
LOL. Thanks, but I'd be back to my car before I got through all the buttons
A thumbs up for you 😊

I cannot activate mine as keep saying to activate precise location on iphone, although is already on
Great tutorial & very well explained thank you , love my ultra 2 even more 😊 you just earned an extra sub 👍🏻
Also, if you dig a treasure, you have its location forever. No pirate maps and steps anymore!
Omg that is true!!! I never find my way back to where they are! 🤩
Finally apple is going where garmin was years ago.
Love this feature
I agree but Apple does so much more than Garmin…
Only World on Apple Watch ultra ? Doesn’t seem to work on my Apple Watch 5….
You have to have a series 6 or newer
The same can my Suunto Spartan Baro Sports watch
The million dollar question in order to work do I need to have my iPhone with me
Is this true?
If your watch has data, no. If you don’t have. cellular data, yes.
