They really should have animations for if you miss at melee range, the other guy like, pushes the gun out of the way like a struggle or something. Make it feel less STUPID when it happens.
77% chance- To maybe a 99.8% chance That might help
This is the best idea I've ever read
all bullets hit near their feet and the enemy does a little dance
The gun jams, or they lose control of the gun
Yah, I mean, if they really want to do it, do a whole dynamic animations system so a rookie could like panic and lose control, then something different for a veteran, etc. It would take the focus off the raw numbers.
I like how a point blank shot with a mini-gun only has a 77% chance of hitting even though the alien is the size of a refrigerator
Yep that's a certified X-com moment right there.
you can tell immediately that this is a fresh playthrough. LMAO if this was 20hours into the playthrough hed be RAGING haha
I LOVE how the animation goes from aiming for a perfect headshot to aiming at his HEAVILY armoured torso and legs, this clip is gold
*laughs in 95% chance to hit sectoid that is literally kissing the barrel of your rifle*
Thats XCOM baby!!
My reaper missed the killing blow on the warlock, who had zero cover, and was also wide open on the floor below me. To top it off, my game froze as it happened, and the screen shows the bullet zipping past his head. I was able to screen cap it. That was my most XCOM moment.
Sips is expecting a hit from an XCOM 77%...when did Dad acquire a taste for such luxuries?
but that 51% feels like a luxury when it hits 80% of the time so x-com is really just a social experiment to see how long it takes people who can do basic math to go insane
it might as well mean 77% chance to miss!
Xcom, 70% of the time you miss 100% of the time
That's XCOM baby
It helps to remember that for the soldiers this is all happening in real time. The opponent isn’t just standing there waiting to be shot.
But it's not communicated to the player at all!
@@yeoremuthare677 The target does do a little flinch animation, not a huge amount else that can be done in this format though. One suggestion I did like that another comment made was to have an animation where the shooter and the target wrestle over the gun though.
@@yeoremuthare677 what do you mean, you think the average player thinks xcom world is a parallel reality where time flows in turns?
Yeah but this isn't a board game, it's a video game. Like someone commented above, have them animated to push the gun out of the way or something
Would still be pretty hard to miss
Any baldur's gate clips going up on here? Would love to see the "Gale's a weekend dad" and his bard character "mr saturday night" smashing the lute
Barrel stuffed, and still missed lol
At least it wasn't the dreaded 100% miss.
At times like this I guess all you can do is laugh!
God I love xcom
Yep, classic XCOM
For some reason, Sips always reminds me of Red Letter Media, and I don't know why.
0:06 Sips did a double eye roll (yes I timestamped it because this clip is so long 🙄)
Why does it sound like the laughter from a madman?
I shot and I MISSED
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because OP was already dead.
I uninstalled the game after my guy with an assault rifle missed a point-blank headshot with 97% hit rate.
Was it Crelly? 😂
"game: apex legends"
myes
I mean, that's a 77% chance. It's not exactly a definite hit.
Isn''t point-blank range a harder hit? I might be wrong. But if I ran right up to an alien's face, wielding a heavy gun, trying to jam the barrel up its nose, I'd probably have a fair chance of missing too.
bro if my job is to shoot a minigun id better be at least strong enough to hold it up while shooting.
Honestly I agree, it does look stupid because the target is not visibly moving, but you're supposed to know that turn based is a game representation of reality. Meaning, melee with big gun equal not that good.
And this is why I don't play these games. Man has a mini gun barrel down the throat, fire blanks. *I'm out*.
And that is why I don’t play XCom games.
I’ve never seen the appeal tbh
Ayyep, xcom 2 was dumb. Won't even give you a 100% chance on a point blank flank. Xcom EW would at least do you that decency...
