The buildup... Is just phenomenal. The lead up to "take a bow" and how the song slowly gets more and more intense before the climax at the end, exploding in a beautiful mix of guitar, piano (I'm guessing) and that cool sci-fi music, it's just perfect. Black Holes and Revelations is my favourite muse album and honestly this is such a perfect opening for it.

I saw these guys in Portland (Oregon) when they toured for this album. I actually didn't know anything about them. The girl I was dating at the time asked if I would go with her. I said "Sure". LOL. After the concert I bought the album. And then of course a few more Muse albums right after that.

This is one of my favorite songs of theirs and combined with the songs from Simulation Theory, when I first heard them playing this I was literally manic. I screamed along with the lyrics like a revolutionary madman. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Words cannot describe how happy I was that they played this song. I probably almost lost my voice with how hard I was screaming with the lyrics lmao.

The chord progression for Take A Bow is super complex but follows a beautiful pattern. I-major to I-augmented, I-major to iv-minor, to THAT chord's major which becomes the new I, following the same augmented/iv/ I key-change pattern. It circles all the way to Eb, takes a break, then continues that pattern all the way to B major. Love it!

Glad for you. They've been my favorite band ever since I seriously started listening to music as a teen. They had a conspiracy theory era, but whether they're right or not, they smartly toned that wayyyyy down, but I still love their songs about it (Exo-Politics for example) because they're so relatable, and so is the knowledge that we have no idea what governments truly know or are up to. Even if you don't necessarily believe every lyric. But I've never found a greater band than Muse that talks about these things.

Rock has a lot of teen angst in it, it's part of the juvenile essence of the genre.

Total bombast. A great marriage of Queen and Radiohead. I had the pleasure of seeing them in September 2007 at a relatively small theater (6,000 seats) in Grand Prairie, Texas.

I always wondered why there's a VHF signal in the beginning of this song... Does anybody else hear this?
Probably a reference to secret signals broadcast on the ultra low frequency used to communicate with nuclear subs.

I don't hear what you're hearing. UA-cam compression removes anything about 15khz anyway...

I hear the high frequency sound throughout the song both here and on Spotify and on this specific UA-cam upload it seems to be amplified compared to the other uploads on UA-cam and Spotify.
Pretty annoying. Reminds me of those old CRT TVs we had in school in early 2000s and at home. Always the high pitched sound us kids could hear but not the teachers.
