  • @bLastarda
    @bLastarda 6 років тому +278

yea yea, everyone cites "when we bleed we bleed the same" but what about the previous line "and no one thinks they are to blame"..? this single line always pierces my heart more than any other in this song
because in this time and age it seems like no one wants to take responsibilty for neither their words nor their actions, always going with the flow, taking the easy route numbing themselfs and just suffering from weekend to weekend, probably thinking something like "yea i will start to change something as soon as i win the lottery, which should happen anytime soon" leaving everything in control of someone else and passing this way of life down to future generations...
because that's just the way it is. and no one thinks they are to blame

    • @Ioganstone
      @Ioganstone 5 років тому +5

Especially when deliberately reframed as quasi communist propaganda turning "They bleed the same" into all suffering is not just equally unfortunate but equally deserved AKA "All blame is the same". In the ironic confirmation of the statement "no one wants to take the blame" by taking outcomes and assigning bad faith to excuse oneself (virtue signal) and I suppose the victim class du jour.

People complain about Simulation Theory, but if you listen carefully, ST is just like BHAR but in synthwave version. Map of the Problematique could easily be transformed into some 80s-like synthwave song. Proves Muse have always been making genuine music and ST stands perfectly in line with that.

MUSE is the typical example of artists unclassifiable and inspired, far beyond the categorizations so typical of our modernity ... It can easily be included in the very closed circle of the great enlightened architects of contemporary music. His music is hypnotically beautiful, immediately accessible and transparent; a treat for the mind. Each listening reveals a little more of its mystery and its magic !

+Dakota Otero well this one is pretty obvious "loneliness be over, when will this loneliness be over" and in live performances he often replaces "since i met you" with "since i lost you" so to me it means that you feel lost, helpless and lonely without that person and because of that i can relate way too much, anyway this is my #1 song along with showbiz, your interpretation fits perfectly tho

I like how people bitch about Muse using too many effects now in their music, yet they love this song. Muse has always used effects to their advantage, while having a bit of a raw sound and they still do.

SnakeEater866 I love any kind of muse. Ok I must admit given that he's a riff maestro, I do long for songs of that ilk. But soundscapes like this are equally intriguing to me.

Yeah I think the reason everyone likes this song is because it's good :L This was the last album that stirred anything in me- with the exclusion of exogenesis symphony of course.
They've done riffy stuff like The Handler, poppy stuff like Resistance, orchestral stuff, synthy stuff... But when I listen, it just doesn't sound like they enjoy this anymore.

Chris's ostinato bass part (repeats the same part for basically the whole song after the intro) is a huge reason why it's addictive. It makes it sound unending, putting you in a trance.

    Lyrics
Fear, and panic in the air
    I want to be free
    From desolation and despair
And I feel like everything I saw
    Is being swept away
When I refuse to let you go
    I can't get it right
    Get it right
    Since I met you
    Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
Life will flash before my eyes
    So scattered almost
I want to touch the other side
And no one thinks they are to blame
    Why can't we see
That when we bleed we bleed the same
    I can't get it right
    Get it right
    Since I met you
    Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
    Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
