Fun fact Anthony, I watched your original video about 2 years ago and it inspired me to teach english. I have now finally got the courage to do it and am leaving for china in 15 days. All the best mate and keep up the good work
thejoehenryshow best of luck
Hey man , how do you find it???
Update?
@@MadeInPython RIP
I am not brave enough to teach in China, but I do teach Chinese children online for VIPKID, and I ADORE these children. I wish I had the courage to move to china, but it’s such a big jump for me. These are the best children on the planet. They are adoring, they are respectful, they love you...every day is the BEST day because YOU are there....I’ve never experienced this with my elementary American kids. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough. Your videos help! I’m so jealous of you!
Pls honey build up the courage and take the leap youll be so glad!!!
You need to start daily vlogs again, a lot of people like to watch, even if the day is nothing special its still interesting to see.
Am a Shanghainese teaching Mandarin in the Bay Area since ‘15. Greetings from Silicon Valley.
That's awesome!
Chinese schools are really advanced. Loved your walk through your day at school and your commute
Man they're all so adorable and nice and not beating each other up with chairs (a very scary reality of Serbian primary AND secondary schools) so nice to see a glimps of your life. Subbed!
I'm so glad i found your channel I've just watched like 20 of your videos. I'm in the process of organising my move to Shanghai to teach English and watching your videos has made me even more excited. xxx
Shelley Pryde what company did you contact to get the job?
Thank for this, It has inspired me to take Chinese language classes in college and then I'll go and make my move to Shanghai, thank you for inspiring me!
A great update to your previous video from Beijing. Thanks for sharing.
the seems like a great job!! I hope you will do a apartment tour!
Am going to Shanghai soon to teach English... I'm nervous but looking at your video has given me confidence
"I not like Japan" HAHAHA
It's not funny, it's sad that the Chinese government brainwashes its children into hating other countries.
@@carlsm95 Then go choose to be sad. Every country does this. It's not unique to China.
@@carlsm95 lmao so American kids hate Iran, China and Russia is fine? Also every heard of red scare?
@@carlsm95 It's even sadder that the Japanese government brainwashes its children with historical revisionism denying the Nanjing Massacre performed by the Japanese militars against the Chinese citizens during the Second World War.
@@carlsm95 it's not other countries , it's Japan, it's not brainwashed, if you were Chinese and you would read about what Japan did to China, I'm pretty sure you'll hate them too.
Wow I love your energy! you seem like such a cool person. Awesome video ;)
Excellent job Anthony, keep the good work, I am an English instructor too but non-native, I don't know if I can get a good teaching opportunity in China nowadays or..., anyway your videos are pretty inspiring 👏👏👏
I have the same book for studying Chinese here at the university in Thailand, and the full pack: Textbook+CD, Workbook+CD and Instructors Manual+CD. I'm planning to go to China in October as well, so trying to learn some Chinese. :)
Hi Anthony. Teaching is a highly regarded profession in China. Teachers are very well respected and the parents of students are always grateful to teachers. In due time, you may be able to set up schools and you make a successful business out of it. Good luck and thank you for making this video.
I wouldn't know where to start but would love to.
Fantastic video. You have my seal of approval.
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing your experiences! :)
I am glad you are back.

I’m in the process now to go do this in February. Just waiting for my work visa.
I do love this vlog 😊 great job 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Anthony, Are you still based in Shanghai ? I'm considering teaching in China and would like to know more.
All of the people as my mom good friend know me because they watched me grow up in Sydney
How much do school administrators check in on you? Do you have freedom to teach the way you wish or is there a lot of oversight?
i do love this vlog thanks
Hey Anthony love the videos. Im an American thinking about teaching in China and just wondering how you would compare living in Shanghai with living in Beijing?
Both cities are great! Beijing has lots of history and is great for learning the culture. Shanghai is the New York kind of lifestyle. Depends what you prefer.
@@MrAnthWard I assume when you say New York you don't mean the people are rude as over there?
They treat you like a slave in China! I had to be at my school by 7am and finished at 5pm ! Kids were great tho!
Welcome to the world of teaching. Teachers work longer then that.
Our school needs a foreign teacher. In China, if anyone wants to come to China, our school will help you with a work visa.salary high
Are you sure I won't end up in Uzbekistan instead? Ha ha
@@prime8nate LOL
my cousin used to go to that school he said the teachers were mean especially math teachers bc they have high expectation😭😭
Some lovely teachers there but yes I can imagine! It was exhausting working there.
Hello Anthony what's the non-native English speakers situation in China like, do i have a chance to teach there with my B.A
seldom have I talked in Chinese while teaching in the class must be in English thoroughly

Do research watch lotsa vids all are nice but every one has their own opinion
Do you have a Wechat , Anthony? I'm interested to work as English Teacher at China. Teach me how. I'm from Philippines
DO YOU MAKE UP YOUR OWN LESSONS OR DO YOU RECIEVE A CURRICULUM?
good question, I was wondering this as well.
I want to see myself there teachingI noticed you play pop piano, any classic piano piece??
More videos plz
In china I am foreigners they don’t like me haha 😂, because they didn’t know I come back to Australia 🇦🇺 in China I used fake name my real name is fan ze yu
Hey man! I like your videos. I can see you're really passionate about teaching.
Would you say it is possible for a European to teach English in China as a summer job?
What classes did you take in college? I’m looking at bruh a teacher in Incheon South Korea, but I have no idea what college courses to take.
Major in education
Hi can you explain the housing situation? Is it free. Also what program did you use to come over to china.
xSmall But Fiercex www.teach-english-in-china.co.uk this organisation is the best one out there. Make sure you mention my name to them. Housing depends. Sometimes the school will sort it for you, sometimes someone will help you to find your own. Hope this helps.
Anthony Ward thank it does. I'm in the middle of getting my degree. So i was doing as much research to prepare for it. No other video that I watched on other channels describe the housing or program they used. So thank you for the info.
我觉得这是很好,你的学校看有意思,我觉得中国菜很好吃但是我觉得学校吃不好吃, 我的中文不好如果这这是错的我很抱歉 哈哈!

Is this a state school or a private school?
State, probably
I really want to do what you do but im worried it wont work out or i wont make enough money
Dirty Juice Box is more than 1000$ not enough for you?)
@@teacherfromthejungles6671 it can be over2000$ man
Jesus honestly speaking I was offered this opportunity but after watching you quite rushed and sweating the whole day long I think I will pass,It is not for everyone
Good luck handling any job. This job was easy 🤣.
So how is the salary? Did you have to take some money by yourself or did they pay for your flight and housing?
can I go teach abroad if I dont know the native language at all?
If you don't know Mandarin? yes
uff Line 2, glad i don't have to use this anymore - private taxi
I get the frustration of line 2 but I hope you can understand many people still have to use it and fanning a private taxi and saying uff is looking down on those people. It's great that Shanghai have a good metro line in the first place.
@@MrAnthWard yes u are right and i only look down to myself
shaghai students seems much more reserved than beijing students.
How do u have permission to access YT in china?
classified, i could tell you but nah-- you will find out
He’s using a vip network to change his location. A lot of Chinese people do that to access blocked websites.
