    What a timely video.
    I was considering getting a new keyboard for my new Mini.

      Thanks and good luck with everything. These were the best keyboards out of the ones that were sent to me. I don't do the full reviews but just like to show people what's out there and what my initial impressions are. Thanks again.

    It’s a bit pricey but the MX series by Logitech is very worth it. They make a Mac version and it’s the best non Apple keyboard I’ve used

      Those are nice also for sure. These are just based on the models I have been sent and what I think works well and feels like the original Mac keyboards.

      Yes, the better keyboards are all going to be around $75 to $100 but you can get some budget ones for around $50 that can pass for most people.

    Very helpful information! I went with the Satechi compact keyboard and I have been very impressed with it. Thank you for the video.

    Logitech is my fav. It works great with apple and sync, does not take up a port, keys light up and its soft touch. Mouse is great and you can use it when plugged in...

    Thanks for the review. It was important to my decision to buy Satechi keyboard. I think the original Apple keyboard so expensive in my country.

    Thanks for the reviews Craig. I'm currently using the standard Apple keyboard (without the numpad or the fingerprint sensor). It's a good keyboard, but I regret not getting the full-sized version with the numpad, which I prefer to use over the number keys. Penny wise and pound foolish.
    I was surprised to see that both of the ProtoArc keyboards use scissor switches. I was expecting keyboards that affordable would use membrane switches.

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  Рік тому

      Yes, the ProtoArc are not bad for the money and feel pretty good. They are not as good as the others but very close and half the cost. I myself don't use the Numeric pad too much but it's nice to have one just in case. Thanks for the post.

      Like yourself, I too prefer to use a keyboard with a full size number pad. So, whenever someone that, I know is planing to order a new 24-inch iMac always suggest they get the color matching full size keyboard with number pad (smile...smile).

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  11 місяців тому

      Yes, some people do use the number pad and others never will. I guess it also depends on the size of the desk they have and they space they have to work with.

    Hi. Great overview. Can these all be used as wired keyboards as well or is the USB only for charging? Thx.

      This was a bit ago but I would follow the links to the amazon pages to see the exact specs of each keyboard. I don't want to tell you something wrong. Thanks for watching. The links should be in the description.

    Hey Craig, thanks for your keyboard review. I'm in the market for a replacement of my imac keyboard that doesn't have the feel of an apple keyboard. Low profile keys have always been a sore spot with me. Have you come across any keyboards that have a different feel from the Apple keyboard?

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  Рік тому +1

      I'll think about it and see what I can come up with. I have not really reviewed a ton that are not like the MacBook keyboards. The Satechi are nice for sure but might be too close to the Mac keyboards if you don't like those. If I come across anything I'll let you know for sure.

    Sad that Satechi only produces their european keyboards in space grey and not in silver. As Apples magic mouse is only available in black/silver this keyboard just doesnt match.

    I honestly don't even care about the price. I would just like for some company (not Logitech) to make a reeeeeeeally high-end version of the MX Keys Mini, but without all the issues, bugs, unreliability, poor longevity, anti-consumer practices and terrible customer support that we usually get from Logitech.

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  4 місяці тому

      Satechi has been pretty good but I also have not had issues with Logitech so I guess it depends on the user experience.

    I tried to replace my "A1314" with "A1843", i send the A1843 back to Apple. Keyboard is too flat, no good haptic for typing, overall, i cant get why there is anybody out there who can type on that garbage.

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  3 місяці тому

      I don't mine the flat keyboard but if you don't like them maybe try the Satechi Mechanical keyboard. I did a video on that one and it sits up much higher.
