  • I was privileged to sit in conversation with Madam Oury Traoré.
    A Malian, Oury is an International Senior Consultant and an Advisor for CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation. She has over two decades of experiences working in peace and security, human rights, international development, gender, governance, Gestalt OD, climate justice, etc. Oury worked on strategic, operational and programmatic issues at national, regional, and international levels, through training, policy formulation, research, process-facilitation, campaigning, advocacy, etc.. She has experience in all regions of Africa, USA, Afghanistan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Yemen, etc.. She worked with international and regional NGOs as well as global institutions to facilitate organizational change process, facilitating strategic, operational and structural realignments for more impact on the ground.
    Oury has an M.A. in Sustainable International Development (SID) from the Heller School of Social Policy at Brandeis University (MA, USA); a second M.A. in Human Rights and Democratization from the European Inter-University (EUIC) Venice, Italy; and a B.A. in Sociology from Berea College (KY, USA). She is also certified in Integrated Mission Planning Process (IMPP), Gestalt Organizational and Systems Development (OSD) and she is a certified Trainer for ECOWAS Mediation & Dialogue.
    Oury's passion for women in leadership and the African consciousness, as well as her audacious boldness is insightful and inspiring. She discussed the challenges of balancing empathy with self-care as a leader. She also shares her tips for merging leaders who desires to lead well.
