Man, after a somewhat rough day, this was the perfect video to end my night on a high note. This is so stupid and pointless, yet I love. I also hope that target drone returns. The fact that it took so much kinetic energy multiple times and survived each time is worthy of return, and possibly a name in future to go with Freddy

That thing shoots so damn hard that I slowed the footage with max quality and couldn't see the MEGA XL dart.😂
I mean that's more of me shooting at 30 FPS over 60 because like, 3% of viewers watched 60 FPS videos... but I also kind of want to go back to 60 FPS.
You can still kinda see the dart exiting the barrel as a bluish blur in some shots, which initially made me think the piston goes so hard that it compresses the air within to the point of creating condensation once it expands, like you get with expanding canned gas
That drone Company should add "Will survive a anti-tank rifle" in the description
considering their deceptive marketing (their shorts ads show them outdoing turboflex on how not to do durability tests and also making obvious cuts whenever their overpriced and dropshipped garbage didn't survive the treatment)

Now it's only a matter of time until we get a demolisher rocket sniper, though you'd probably need to be a professional body builder in order to prime that thing...
The bulb shape and fins make trying a breech for Demolisher Rockets kind of a dead-end. People have been trying. That's why we all love MEGA XL so much.
@@WalcomS7 Spitfire has shoved demolisher rockets on the end of the mega rangers barrel before... I believe they hit 80fps.
Done an air powered demolisher rockets launcher, the stability at higher velocities is bad. Goes like 20 feet straight then fishtailed off and drops velocity very quickly.
If we put a model rocket engine in the back of the giant dart, we can have a self-propelled howitzer 😂
Now ask Spitfire to help you create a pink magfed version.
That or make it take shells to shoot 12 too many hyper rounds...

These hit at about 4joules of energy. Ie this is a 30mm projectile traveling at about 120fps that weighs 6grams. Which comes to 4 joules.
In airsoft my sport of choice 1.85j is considered pretty hot for anything but snipers at range.

Engineering nerd here. I would be very much interested in building you a blaster that could fire the colossal nerf dart you showed at the beginning. I’m thinking a mortar, but I could see if I could make it compact enough for an RPG or TF2 Heavy style gun if you want. Let me know if this would be of interest for you. Just letting you know now though, considering how big and heavy that dart looks, the amount of air pressure needed would be approaching scary levels, so keep that in mind.

No its the 30 mm of Blasters, the fifty is a regular dart, the mega is the 20 mm.

Holy Crap! Mega XL down range twice as hard as the Boomdozer! Yes, I want it, can I justify it in any way shape or form, NO I can't! I feel sorry for the Super Zombie that requires Mega XL to stop, there days are numbered. I just wished it looked like the Javelin, I prefer the Sci-Fi look for my blasters.

That huge dart could use an aluminum lining so it could use ACTUAL GUNPOWDER to fire ut from an artillery system
The dart was so powerful that when you missed and it skimmed the top, the air vortex sucked the drone up toward the ceiling!

What you could do it take the measurements of the dart head and make a waffle head variant and print it in tpu filament and glue it in the dart to replace the base tip for a more accurate dart p.s please put a ten times optic on it

If the Mega snipers were the Nerf equivalent of anti-materiel rifles, this thing's the closest we're gonna get to a Nerf elephant gun or four-bore.
Now all we need to do is scale it up to the point where its physically unable to be fired off the body, and we'd have a Nerf punt gun.

Does dart Whistle work with this blaster with/without scar barrel? Whistle is very important factor for me while using Mega / Mega XL so I hope you let us know.
At higher speeds the Mega XL darts do not whistle until it slows down from air friction way down range.
That is just not true, they are absolutely screaming at high speed. It starts as a high pitch and goes to a low pitch is it loses speed
@@evandiliberto6238 All the shots I've taken at high speed are quiet until the dart slows down ...but then my shots are with weighted down half darts so...? How many high speed shots have you taken and with what blaster?

Yeah, so that 120fps is about 4J (standard airsoft sniper energy) and is about equivalent to a 300fps standard half dart and 180fps mega.

I am doing short darts with a 300 psi air shock hand pumper with pipe fittings reservoir. The half darts are also weighted with flowable liquid silicone rubber poured inside about 3/8 inch deep. Smooth bore thin steel tube for barrel that has 30mm bore and 17 inch long. Sending darts 60 yards fast and straight. Steam punk kinda looking!

Are you aware of a genuine Nerf-brand (or X-Shot, but I doubt it) lever-action rifle that doesn't cost anywhere near as much as the Wingchester? I was thinking about how, assuming I'm understanding it correctly myself, they could design the mechanism such that it could have the same magazine arrangement and method of function as a real Winchester, but without crushing or otherwise deforming foam ammo, and I think I have a picture in my mind, but first I thought I'd see if one already exists.
UA-cam apparently decided that today was the day that I needed to be shown all of the videos in the "Nerf, but better" sphere of existence, and I find myself not disagreeing with it. I've watched a few of your videos now and they've all been very entertaining. Watching someone fire what is effectively a foam slug gun at a tiny drone is lots of fun.
