    My big goal is to stay healthy and strong so I can pace my friends in the Ultra pursuits this year! I've never paced someone but being able to help others in their running goals is SO inspiring and exciting to me. Seeing them through the last miles to cross that finish line, seeing all their hard work culminate in that moment... better than any PR I can think of.

    :QD: Once again: Leadville 100! Gotta get it done this year... did 100k last year, determined to do the real imperial until of 100 mi this year. And the Trabuco Max2 returns a great ride - used it for my trail marathon in Salida (Run Through Time) this year and it was fantastic on technical terrain, snow/ice/mud, and on steep descents, you could just bomb down. Never turned the ankle.

    I bought these shoes for an Ultra 51km on technical terrain (rocks, loose gravel etc). So far I managed to put in 40km in it. Definitely very comfortable, midsole is nice for easy and rolling through the kilometres. Overall very stable. The only issues I found was when running on slanting hills or stepping on rock with the edge of the shoe... I feel that my foot is not well held in these situations. But overall very pleased.

    I still have the original. Use it for ice and snow running in the winter. Also use it on gravel trails when it is wet/muddy. Perfect for both uses. Super durable, nowhere near wearing out so I won't be needing the 2 anytime soon!

    Thanks for the review. I've been running in this shoe for about five weeks now and it might be the best trail shoe I've ever worn. It's pretty amazing and really works for me; I only wish they made a size 13.5!

    Did my 4th run in them yesterday. One observation that due to stack height it twisted a bit coming downhill, need to be careful on technical trails . Otherwise super comfortable and dont feel fatigue afterwards.

    Fabtastic shoe. I used it for 100k and my feet felt brand new at the end. Fabtastic on downhill and surprisingly grippy. I didnt expect it at all. No slippage throughout a british storm. Extreme comfort and a slight rocker. Its a lot of shoe

    I just did a 51km Ultra in the Trabuco. My ankles are sore. The shoes is incredibly comfortable. However I struggled when I was running on steep slopes (sideways) and loose rocks. While it is protective, you need to really think where you are stepping.

    • @antidepressants9232
      @antidepressants9232 Рік тому

      Do you think that's because of the height of the shoe?

    • @steven8591
      @steven8591 Рік тому +1

      @@antidepressants9232 my feeling is yes, primarily it is because of the height. The wide base helps to make it stable on most grounds. However I realised that sudden change of direction or stepping on a rock with the edge of the shoe increases the chance of ankle rolling. It never happened to me with the speedgoat or the G300-Max.

    Thank you, I am planning for a 114km (70 mile) ultra in the mountains with 6600m (21600 feet) altitude change that is quite technical where I will need good grip. As I understood you this would be quite a fitting shoe.

    Do you think Asics did it like New Balance here where they made the same named foam slightly harder and less responsive so that its more "stable" for trail conditions? I really don't understand when companies do this, if stability is an issue then instead of making the foam harder why don't they just lower the stack height? Wouldn't that improve ground feel while not sacrificing cushioning and responsiveness? The only upside I can see to how NB did their trail series is so that short people can still feel like they're wearing high heels.

    I have a question. I really like this sneaker design, but the question is, would it be a good choice for hiking in the mountains for distances of 15 to 30 kilometers? If not, what would be the best choice in terms of comfort?

    Hi, I love the Trabuco Max but it is too narrow for my son and there isn't a wide option (I found the Trabuco Max also ran smaller). Is the Trabuco 2 any wider? We live somewhere that we have to order everything online. Thank you.

    What would you recommend as a trail shoe for long steady runs? For my road longer runs I use the Saucony Endorphin Speed, I'd like something similar, but perhaps a bit softer. This seems to fit the bill, but perhaps a bit too clunky?

      @mattpeters6224 Рік тому

      @@Scotty.Lincoln 3 months and the Cam Hanes color way comes out. Definitely more subtle. The podcast Cam did with the owners of Speedland shows the shoe. I’m on it when it comes out. We also have a retailer in the Dallas area! Blessed

    • @Scotty.Lincoln
      @Scotty.Lincoln Рік тому +1

      @@mattpeters6224 Yeah I saw those too. Not a fan of them. Good signing because Cam has a big following but didn’t need all that extra stuff on the shoe. Alittle too gimmicky and marketing. Still might grab the orange pair because all good reviews on them. Do use the plate? If so does it make a huge difference? Dylan Bo just said he doesn’t use it

    • @mattpeters6224
      @mattpeters6224 Рік тому +1

      @@Scotty.Lincoln Certainly subjective concerning the color way’s. I do not use the plate because I prefer a softer feel to the outsole. They are extremely minimalist however, I am interested in at least trying them. I made the purchase WO the plate. The shoe delivers as promised. To justify the price the only metric left for me is durability. I only have 2 runs in so far. A 6 mile varied terrain trail and an 8 mile extremely technical trail. 10/10 on both.
