Piet One to think about. Here in Europe, in order to hunt legal in the near future we must use leadfree bullets...that changes things..a lot Hornady and Barnes lead the way, more or less, with there ttsx and cx bullets. Does 6.5 creedmore laks speed and weight for big game hunting with these bullettypes? Kind regards
All that range time and preparation, the tripod, beautiful rifle & scope setup capable of steel at hundreds of meters. Ended up taking him within slingshot range. Congrats on a hell of a good spot and stalk hunt. Rock on Piet 🤘😎
Great video as usual and beautiful Nyala. Very well done Piet. I love such stalking through thick bush with very close encounters. I have never hunted a nyala yet but it is in my bucket lists. I love to hunt elands with that way. Your hear the famous clicks made by eland bulls with their tendon that slip over a bone in their front knees well before to see them. Even at less than 20 meters, sometimes, you don't see those beast till the last moment. For such hunt at short distance, a "big" caliber like 9.3x62 or .375 H&H magnum is perfect with a heavy round nose bullets.
my friend its an amazing video good hunting 12 years ago i hunted my first hunt ever in this exact property wow unforgeable memories i have hunted my first gemsbok with "dentist" 😍😍
Pulling the trigger on a majestic animal, is the cherry on the cake. Glad you noticed the birds in the beginning, walk and stalk makes for an awesome experience allround
Awesome, but you are going to love it when you get to hunting with that 1895 out there! Those close brush shots will be a breeze. Keep up the great work!
The Marlin Lever action is the famous 45-70 you'd probably want. Or one could be a little retro and get a repro Sharps 1874. Another powerhouse rifle would be a Weatherby Mk.V but they are stupidly expensive from what I've heard. It would be nice however to see some rounds I know more about turning up. Ammo like 6 dasher and 6.5SS are rounds I am just not familiar with and I couldn't even find 6.5SS in 'Cartridges of the world' probably because 6.5SS is wildcat but still. 45-70 would be a nice one to see on the channel.
Have you considered the 8.6 Blackout as a short-range bush gun for work like this? From what I can tell it's a cartridge capable of handling a wide range of situations. Small, light AR-10 platform with a .338 calibre bullet in a 6.5 creedmoor parent case. Twist rate is 1:3 creating some crazy penetrating ability.
Piet it so satisfying watching shoot. If you hunt or ahoot at targets, watching you shoot os some thing els. I learn alot from whatching you videos and hope to meet you one day. Greetings from Rustenburg in the north west. Keep it up Piet Skiet👍👊
I recently purchased the HNT chassis with in folding buttstock, I was wondering how did you the bullet holder on you chassis. I am interested to know. Thanks
In the united states not very many people hunt with a precision type gun. Here in the state of Maine in the United States, we tri to run a 30-30. - or 243 30-06 Depending on the density of the forest. But I know nobody wants to run around with a fifteen pound rifle.. Even though I tried to get a white tail last year. With my RPR338.LAUPA LOL But a lot of the times I use my 556 mark twelve. And do head shots at 250 yd. And put down a beautiful 10 POINT.220 pound White tail buck . I love seeing people's hunting techniques from around the world.
Great vid. But i feel like im really at the point of giving up on firearms ownership in south africa. My license for my first gun has been approved. Just waiting for the card. But ive been trying for 3 weeks to get a printout and my local police station is just too pathetic to even do that. The DFO is on sick leave and his assistant is on maternety leave. The palookas there now have been locked out of their pc for going on week 4 now. It really just feels like running in quicksand trying to own a gun in south africa
😅 Take me to your leader. We will go in peace but I know we're lying. LOL oh my God, I'm dying laughing.😅 The cartridge replacing One of the most famous north american hunting guns. The thirty thirty. Because it is a Bush Gun..is the 350 legend Beautiful good bush gun. Which we put down a lot of bear and moose with... But it's also a three hundred yard gun
Shot placement... center of buck 😂 Bosveld jag still the best. Vlaktes is fun but bosveld remaims the best. Nothing like a staring contest at those close ranges to see whos making the next move you or the bok. Best bosveld gun would be a 30 cal with a heavy bullet in my opinion.
With all each different animals do you have been hunting. What would you say is the best tasting. For me it would be the north american elk. On the Eastern side of the United States.. The meat almost taste like it has a sense of sugar in it. So yummy
Thanks for watching, please Like and leave a comment!

Let me open a can of worms 😂, proper bushveld rifle, the 9.3x62mm.
Hello from Botswana...
Well done!! Wonder what bush gun it will be? 7x57,300 or 30 06?
Piet will never get a bush gun! He loves his long barrels too much.
Amazing

Classic rock star
I know you said lever action 45/70 a 458 socom is similar and can be found in bolt or semi but no one can deny a 45/70 is a great bush gun
Camera guy’s the lucky one, doesn’t have to help carry it out. 🤣
WOW that was a close shot!!!
Nice to see you here Gavin!
Knap gedaan!
what scope cam is this? sorry if I missed it in the video.

Get a 30.06 for the brush,I know it’s a old calibre but it works😂
You can't go wrong with the original.270 musgrave from 1996. It can putt down anything if you know what yoyr doing.
Can someone tell me what’s going on between NYALA AND BUSHBUCK 😏😏
I would choose a Tikka T3x in 308 for that style of hunting, knowing it could still take game out to 400+ metres with the right loads
I would pick a .303 British over a 45/70 lever action for this type of hunting any day of the week.

The 444 Marlin 1895 would be good for thT hunt.

Probably would've dressed that thing off camera then carried it out
Não entendo pesoas matam os bicho endefeso e se divertem ..eles sao os piores predadores
Hell ek kani wag vir my lisensie nie wil my eerste bloed trek😂
Saying a Nyala is simular to a Kudu, is like saying a Land Cruiser is simular to a Ford Ranger 😂
ngl they look similiar to impala
They belong to the same family: Tragelaphini. They are all spiral horned antelope. More like Cruiser and Hi-lux.😅
