Don doesn't mince words. Being a native Floridian and from Tampa, it was great seeing him crack up the West Coast guys. I was headed to Georgia and decided to stop at the museum, and I bought some stuff. And the lady was Don's daughter, and he's back in his office just cussing something. I said, "Is Don here she looks over her shoulder and said nope he's not here with a smile.""We both laughed.

Don was lucky that Smokey did that for him. Now did Don pass that same gesture on to someone he believed in too? Let’s hear the story.

I knew Smokey personally and spent a lot of time with him, on the road, in his shop and eating dinner with him at his house. For those that don’t know… Smokey was probably the funniest human being ever to live on this planet and in just one sentence he could literally gut someone’s soul, chew it up and spit it out on the ground as he steps over the remains looking for the next victim to obliterate. Man those old school NASCAR tech guys must of had nightmares, the dude was a genius… Smokey would do things just to make those guys look like idiots. Funniest story of all was the day Smokey bought himself a helicopter! Man thinking back I am so blessed to have been able to cross paths with him… He’s probably out there somewhere in the universe belittling a group of aliens about the pyle of crap spaceship they can’t fly because they are a bunch of retards! Hahaha I knew Garlits too, Both hero’s of our lives!
