  • I’m Rebecca and on Jan 16, 2021 I received the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) at Blossom Bariatrics in Las Vegas. This video is about my experience at Blossom Bariatrics on their Fasttrack program. It’s a fairly in depth look at how it went for those about to get surgery at Blossom.

    • @becomingbex4836
      @becomingbex4836  3 роки тому +1

      @@asiacarter7387 The surgery itself wasn't painful, it was the gas they pump into your abdomen that hurts the most. The first 6-12 hours are the worst but it gets better from there. I was pleasantly surprised at how well and easy it went. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

    Thank you for posting this! You have helped my anxiety! I have my VSG scheduled at Blossom on the 20th of this month and needed to hear this testimony! Did you get a endoscopy? You didn’t mention that and I think I signed some papers saying they would perform that the day before surgery.

    • @becomingbex4836
      @becomingbex4836  3 роки тому +1

      Hey! So glad I could help with anxiety! I know I had so much. They did my upper endoscopy just before surgery, so I only went under once. But it seems most people have the upper endoscopy a few days before surgery. Congrats on your date!!! So soon!!

    Did you have to get the IV implant and the tube down throat to check your stomach lining the day of pre-op checks? Just curious to how that goes… the throat thing makes me nervous 😬 thanks for your videos they are so helpful!

    • @becomingbex4836
      @becomingbex4836  3 роки тому

      The IV is just in the upper arm and it's not annoying at all. I had my endoscopy the day of surgery, so I was only under once, but the common practice now seems to be the endoscopy is done the day before surgery (or a few days before). I didn't wake up with a sore throat or anything, and they put you out completely so you don't feel anything!

    Hi, Congrats on this journey. I have been wanting to get my lip pierced and my surgery is scheduled for September. Did they make you take it out? I would rather do it now but dont want to do it if I will have to remove it for surger.

    • @becomingbex4836
      @becomingbex4836  2 роки тому

      Hey! I don't remember but from my photos it looks like I took it out. I kept my earrings in but took out the lip piercing due to the anesthesia and intubation. I would suggest waiting until after the surgery to get it pierced.

      I called in early October and could have been sleeved as early as December, but I chose to wait until mid-January. If you are paying out of pocket and doing the Fasttrack program, there are very few hoops to jump through.

    I noticed that you did not have to have an Endoscopy on day two. I am scheduled for surgery on the 17th and all the videos say that I am having that Endoscopy. Is this new??? It was nice to hear all of this though. Eases some of my anxiety! ☺️

      Nope! I paid entirely out of pocket. That's why Blossom is so great. They were about 10k cheaper than getting it done locally at a hospital, and they do work with some insurances. Worth giving them a call for a quote!
