Arnold Schwarzenegger's highest single-film kill count comes from Commando (1985), where in the final island scene he racked up 74 kills: 2 throats slit, 51 people shot, 1 person stabbed, 2 people stabbed by circular blades, 5 people blown up by grenades, 5 people blown up by rocket launcher, 7 people blown up by planted explosives, and 1 unfortunate person impaled.
I saw this in 85 at an Army base and the whooping and hollering that went on during this movie was amazing. I’ve never experienced a movie like that again.
When she sees his character in The Road Warrior, she will see how crazy he truly can be! Also he has a cameo as kinda the same Road Warrior character in Weird Science.
Coby the line in Commando where Arnold says "I eat green berets for breakfast" when the guy says this gren beret is gonna kick your ass. Was an attack directed at Stallone movie Rambo where Stallone plays a green beret special forces as at the time Arnold and Stallone were in competition at the box office with each other and hated each other at the time.

Nice... Iron Eagle and Critters mentions. Those are two movies that I watched a lot as a kid that I haven't watched again in decades. I should re-visit them.
First Blood (Rambo) and Commando will not remain in the same category after you have seen them both. Commando is an entertaining but somewhat silly action movie. First Blood is a next-level film with something serious to say. Don't read too much into that. Commando is fun and great. But if I had to live in a world without either Commando or First Blood and the choice was mine, John Matrix would have to go.
Vet here. Can confirm First Blood is a powerful movie. If any movie is a good reminder not to underestimate the acting of meatwagons like Stalone, it's that one. Arnold... " End of Days" is the most serious acting he's done and that movie started with him pounding a leftover pizza and beer smoothie for breakfast...so...ya know enjoy him for dad-joke level one-liners and placing claymores the wrong direction.
First Blood is just as silly an action movie, just because it's based on a fictional Vietnam vet doesn't make it any better. If you want serious acting you need to watch The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Born on the Fourth of July
На самом деле это неправильно. Он взял с собой слишком много стволов и слишком мало патронов, правильнее было бы в выборе стрелкового оружия ограничиться одной автоматической винтовкой и взять к ней очень много патронов.
This the quintessential 80's action movie. It's got everything, the muscles, the cheesy lines and lots of shooting and explosions. And boy, is it great!
I really enjoyed your fun reaction to this movie, Coby, which was one of my favorite 80s action films. By the way, Rae Dawn Chong (Cindy) is the daughter of actor/comedian Tommy Chong (of "Cheech & Chong" comedy team); Bill Duke (Cooke) who was killed by Arnie in the hotel was in Predator (the guy who was dry shaving on occasion).
This was my favorite movie when I was a kid, watching with my brother and friends. Your reaction reminded me of those good times. You’re a real one, Coby.
Commando has one of the highest kill counts in movie history at 81. Schwarzenegger's other films with high kill counts include: Total Recall (1990) with 44 kills, True Lies (1994) with 51 kills, Predator (1987) with 25 kills, and Eraser (1996) with 29 kills.
the running total for the number of people John Wick has killed stands at 439 as of John Wick chapter 4. John Wick features 77 on-screen deaths at John's hands - a number that rose to 128 in John Wick: Chapter 2. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum found John on the run with only time for 94 kills along the way.
Coby, that shirt he's wearing for the first 2 acts is a Henley, they come with 3 to 4 buttons but his was definitely damaged in the mall fights, you know to show off. The only actor I recognize other than Arnold, Alyssa, and Rae, is Bill Duke who played Cooke with the convertible Cadillac, he's in Predator with Arnold where he plays Mac.
The guy dishing tickets at the airport was the guy in The Warriors that was main bad guy and in the end sang "Warriors!!! Come out and play!" while clacking beer bottles together.
When Cindy said she learned how to shoot the rocket because she read the instructions, many veterans laughed, because most military weapons have very detailed instructions printed on stickers that are attached to the weapon. Other notes, Rae Dawn Chong is the daughter of Tommy Chong (That 70's Show, Cheech & Chong movies). The rock song in the closing credits "We Fight For Love" is Performed by Robert Palmer as part of the "Power Station" supergroup. (Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor and Andy Taylor.)
That's true but merely having the instructions available on a weapon like that and using it are two different levels of difficultly. Anybody can "think" they can use a weapon and can't. It was pretty obvious that Cindy could have ended up frying herself just trying to discharge that weapon.
*Been one of my favourite films since first seeing it as a young lad in the early 90s. It's such a brilliantly made B-movie, and the score (by the late James Horner) in particular lifts it to greatness.*
Sully is played by David Patrick Kelly, later an essential part of the worldbuilding in John Wick as Charlie, the man who deals with dinner reservations.

The great Dan Hedaya, is an amazing comedic actor. Incredibly underrated. Was fantastic as Mr. Qatari in the also underrated Joe vs the Volcano (a brilliant Tom Hanks film), and he was also Carla's "ex" in the tv show Cheers, and even though he was only in a handful of episodes, he was BRILLIANT in it and a fan favorite (loved to hate him). Just a great character actor.
That 4-tube rocket launcher was the M202. A real-life weapon system that was classified as a "flame weapon", but never saw much use. The difference between a Seaplane and an Amphbian, is in the design. A Seaplane uses floats while an amphibian uses its boat-shapen body.
“Seaplane” can be used as a general term for a seaplane or a floatplane, but a seaplane specifically, has a boat-hull fuselage that floats on the water. A floatplane has two pontoons with struts that hold the airplane off the water. A seaplane or floatplane with retractable wheeled landing gear for landing on runways is an amphibian.
This was a year after The Terminator. You should see him in Conan The Barbarian when he's extra jacked, two years before The Terminator. But if you want to see Arnie in the jungle then you have to watch Predator.
Bill Paxton was also in "True Lies", which is another one of Arnie's movies that is up there with Terminator 2, but then again anything Arnie was in is awesome, such as Kindergarten Cop Raw Deal The Running Man Red Heat Last Action Hero Just to name a few
David Patrick Kelly, who played Sully appeared on an awesome movie called “ the Warriors “. Coby, you have to check that movie out sometime. It’s an iconic movie where David Kelly has a memorial saying that you might of heard before!
This was 1 of the movies that inspired me to be a Marine! "Battle Of The Bulge" really influenced me! Great movie if u like an oldie.... Wish u were a kid and saw this!
Coby, General Kirby was played by the late actor, James Olsen who died in 2022 at 91. He did a small number of films including The Andromeda Strain but was mostly known for television guest appearances especially in the 1970s on shows like The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman and Hawaii 5-0.
3:56 "That's Alyssa Milano!!!" Good catch, Coby. That was indeed Alyssa Milano playing Arnold's daughter in this movie. Interesting Fact for you, also: Between takes, whenever Alyssa had schoolwork to do, Arnold would help Alyssa with her schoolwork, and he was very protective of Alyssa, as well
First person I've seen who recognized Alyssa Milano. Also, the scene where Arnie had his shirt off shooting the machine gun was an homage to Rambo (part II) where Stallone does same thing. (Rambo II came out a year prior).
iirc I read somewhere that they had a different actor who left, and the outfit didn`t fit Vernon Wells properly? Of course sometimes it`s the outfit, not the fit🤣
The muscles, bullets flying and the cheesy one liners. Yep....that's an Arnie movie. You got to love it💪😁 your ability to notice the little details in films is one reason why your becoming a great reactor. Well done, coby👏✌😁
The wannabe mobster in the leisure suit is Dan Hedaya, a once prolific character actor. Which leads me to recommend Running Scared, with Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal, where he played their boss. A very entertaining buddy cop comedy movie from 1986.
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in Red Sonja the same year as this, while Sylvester Stallone starred in Rocky IV and First Blood Part 2. The henchman Cook is played by Bill Duke, who co stars with Arnold in Predator. Arnold followed this up with Raw Deal. Bennet is played by Vernon Wells, who was also Road Warrior and Weird Science
The "so young" Arnie in this was already 38 when the movie came out. But he looks as young as you do! I love how the entire movie feels like an unapologetic showcase of a charismatic beefcake.
@@adamkennedy9014 That's my understanding as well. That's what Coby and young Arnie have in common: they both look younger than they are, but once you stop and think about how confidently they carry themselves, it's obvious that they can't be _too_ young.
I remember seeing this in the cinema (and other Arnold movies) and everyone was sitting and waiting for him to say “I’ll be back!” and everyone would start cheering and clapping.. it’s was so much fun 😊
Yeah I don’t understand how people don’t understand that I got that reference when I was a kid. But did you know Arnold actually picked up that phone booth
This came out when I was 14 and I loved it. And I love the song from the end, We Fight For Love by The Power Station. If I remember correctly, Alyssa Milano was 13 when she was in Commando; it was my first time seeing her in anything.
Every time I see the actor who played Sully, I always think of the cult film Warriors, one of the best films of the late 70's, which went on to influence John Wick 4, where they paid homage to a scene from the Warriors with the female DJ
I've seen this movie more than any other movie. My sister and I used to watch it over and over again. We wore out the beta tape we had we watched it so much. I love it.
"It's got a very Bond feel" I've never thought of Commando that way but I have to agree. Killer quips, a lovely assistant, exotic locals, a weird villain with an outlandish henchman... it's got a stack of Bond tropes in it 🤔
Commando is the 80's action movie turned up to 11. It knows exactly what it is, leans into it hard, and has no pretensions to be anything else. One difference from most movies of its type is that Cindy, the female lead, is actually useful - capable, confident, and keeps her head in a crisis - rather than the useless screaming bimbos that you see in many films.
it's actually pretty normal in these Arnie action movies to have a female ally who is not totally helpless. The female ally is typically not physically strong but she's not helpless, either. that's a lot more realistic than modern action movies where the female is ridiculously tough.
I have fond memorys from Commando. It was one of the first action movies I saw as a young kid back in the early 90´s. The Swedish broadcasting company that aired the movie thought it was a bit to violent so they sensored out the worst parts. I think the movie was about 45 minutes long. :D
Commando: 300 guys shooting at Schwartzeneger. All trying desperately not to hit him. First Blood Part 2, is in a league of its own. Can’t recommend it enough. Also, Bill Paxton was the only guy ever to be k illed by a: Alien, Predator and a Terminator.
I remember seeing something a few years ago where someone figured out how many people Arnold killed in Commando. IMDB says it was 81. Fandom says he killed 103.

Sully yells “you lied” as he falls
This movie is a classic from my childhood !
Pyrotechnic: So how many explosions do you want in the third act?
Director: Yes.
The term "amphibian" should be a giveaway. It denotes use on both sea and land. Floats with no wheels attached are no good for a runway.
Loved how tickled you were with this one Coby! There were a lot of movies like this in the 80's , just fun to watch.
This was a year after The Terminator. You should see him in Conan The Barbarian when he's extra jacked, two years before The Terminator.
But if you want to see Arnie in the jungle then you have to watch Predator.
"But what IS important, is gravity!" One of the best lines ever! 😂
Probably my favorite iteration of "I'll be back".
Bill Paxton was also in "True Lies", which is another one of Arnie's movies that is up there with Terminator 2, but then again anything Arnie was in is awesome, such as
Kindergarten Cop
Raw Deal
The Running Man
Red Heat
Last Action Hero
Just to name a few
Commando - the absolute epitome of 80s action movies. And I LOVE IT.
David Patrick Kelly, who played Sully appeared on an awesome movie called “ the Warriors “. Coby, you have to check that movie out sometime. It’s an iconic movie where David Kelly has a memorial saying that you might of heard before!
This is the quintessential Arnold movie!! Explosions, bullets and one liners lol 😂
LOVE The Andromeda Strain!
Since I first watched this entertaining movie to now… the relentless piano note over and over 🤪
Sheesh, Coby, you can fly planes too?!? She is so accomplished .
Thats one unforgettable..... movie 😅 ,
Keep smiling Colby ... them looks can certainly kill 😳
3:56
"That's Alyssa Milano!!!"
Good catch, Coby. That was indeed Alyssa Milano playing Arnold's daughter in this movie.
Interesting Fact for you, also:
Between takes, whenever Alyssa had schoolwork to do, Arnold would help Alyssa with her schoolwork, and he was very protective of Alyssa, as well
She also had a great catch with Bill Paxton a little later at 28:13 too!! ;)
Just from his voice and the side of his head it seems!!
Too bad he wasn't as protective of Eliza Dushku for True Lies.
Too bad she turned into a nutjob.
First person I've seen who recognized Alyssa Milano. Also, the scene where Arnie had his shirt off shooting the machine gun was an homage to Rambo (part II) where Stallone does same thing. (Rambo II came out a year prior).
His shirt is so low cut! Says the girl with an even lower cut shirt! If you haven't watched first blood ( the first Rambo movie) its a definite must!!
There's two things that immediately springs to mind regarding this movie:
Steel drum soundtrack
Bennet's offensively awful outfit.
James Horner used a lot of steel drum previously in 48hrs.
iirc I read somewhere that they had a different actor who left, and the outfit didn`t fit Vernon Wells properly? Of course sometimes it`s the outfit, not the fit🤣
@@LordVolkov He was a lazy composer. He reused music all the time.
The missing member of the village people Bennet
Steel drums were also used in several 80s action movies like "Beverly Hills Cop".
I second Running Scared!
Pretty sure she’s 40 😆
@@adamkennedy9014 That's my understanding as well. That's what Coby and young Arnie have in common: they both look younger than they are, but once you stop and think about how confidently they carry themselves, it's obvious that they can't be _too_ young.
I love seeing the spring boards when the soldiers get flung into the air 😂
oh man haven't seen the goofs
The skeezy guy who harasses the flight attendant is David Kelly from the Warriors, a great crime and gang film.
He is also Charlie the leader of the Cleaning Crew in the John Wick movies......
Yassss!! Coby with one of my childhood films!
He also played Nick, Carla first exhusband on CHEERS.
He also played Billy Crystal's boss in "Running Scared" 😉 and was in Alien 4
He also had a short-lived spinoff series titled "The Torrtelli's"
And he was in an episode of Who's the Boss with Alyssa Milano.
Please do not disturb my friend. He’s dead tired. 😂😂 I’m glad my friend recommended this and total recall to me. Now have both on dvd
It's criminal that this content doesn't have more subs. Excellent reaction by Coby as always!
👏👏👏👏
I remember seeing this in the cinema (and other Arnold movies) and everyone was sitting and waiting for him to say “I’ll be back!” and everyone would start cheering and clapping.. it’s was so much fun 😊
And weird considering "I'll be back" isn't even a "line" in the first Terminator movie!
Great reaction to this fun film, Coby, I really enjoyed your reaction to it. The film with Arnie in the jungle is, "Predator".
Arnold thought this was a super block buster action movie about Komodo dragons ...... It's Commando Arnold..... Commando .😂 💪 hahaha
I still do an Arnie impersonation of the after the kill lines in this movie. So cheesy they're delicious.
He is known for bigger blockbusters, but "Commando" and "Conan the Barbarian" are the most Arnold movies of all-time.
The "I lied" is the most iconic line from this film.
Was waiting for Coby to see that fight scene “Let off some steam Bennett” 😂😂
I keep forgetting Coby has a pilot's licence. That is so badass.
Great fun adventure flick. You picked a good one.😊
16:24 Fun Fact: I'd have told you this earlier, but I just remembered. The girl helping Arnie is Tommy Chong's (From Cheech & Chong) daughter.
She’s so smoking hot
I saw this flick with my Dad when I was 6 years old on vacation in Japan. It has remained my go-to cheesy action movie since 1986!
That "i eat green berets for breakfast" was a shot at Rambo
Yeah I don’t understand how people don’t understand that I got that reference when I was a kid. But did you know Arnold actually picked up that phone booth
I quote “I lied” whenever life presents the moment to me
The guy who plays Bennett is also the mohawk mutant in _Weird Science_..
And Ransik in Power Rangers Time/Wild Force and Igoe in Innerspace (where is EMH too 😂)
This came out when I was 14 and I loved it. And I love the song from the end, We Fight For Love by The Power Station. If I remember correctly, Alyssa Milano was 13 when she was in Commando; it was my first time seeing her in anything.
At the time this movie came out, she was in her second season of Who's The Boss? I believe they filmed this after Season 1 of that show was complete.
According to IMDb, she did turn 13 in 1985, but she was 12 during filming.
Every time I see the actor who played Sully, I always think of the cult film Warriors, one of the best films of the late 70's, which went on to influence John Wick 4, where they paid homage to a scene from the Warriors with the female DJ
wild film
And he was the cleaner in the first John Wick
I've seen this movie more than any other movie. My sister and I used to watch it over and over again. We wore out the beta tape we had we watched it so much. I love it.
"It's got a very Bond feel"
I've never thought of Commando that way but I have to agree. Killer quips, a lovely assistant, exotic locals, a weird villain with an outlandish henchman... it's got a stack of Bond tropes in it 🤔
A bit of Bourne Identity too (the book or the Richard Chamberlain movie), kind of kidnapping a stranger woman who ends up helping him.
Another great reaction to such a classic 80s action flick! Loved it when it came out and still love it today. It's fun in its craziness.
Lol Hollywood
The guy who played Bennett was also in Weird Science and he was the guy with the detachable hand in Innerspace.
I remember seeing something a few years ago where someone figured out how many people Arnold killed in Commando. IMDB says it was 81. Fandom says he killed 103.
I co-hosted a podcast where we watched a different Arnold movie each episode, and we counted 99.

❤Coby's lil mouth twitch was perfect.
Love your reactions and your voice. You are hilarious.❤
