Welcome back .... Great work on the Olive tree. When we moved to this house the Olive grove hadnt been touched for probably 30 years, A quick prune produced a decent crop & since then heavy pruning , its now looking stunning. Hard work, but so worth it. Take care, you have some beautiful land & its already looking loved ❤
Thanks a lot. Ours are at least 20 years neglected and produce virtually no fruit. First pruning last year were a bit tentative, then we got some help in to show us how deeply it should be done on old trees. No fears now, but a lot of branches on the ground to process. Give them a few years and we should have a collection of healthy and productive trees 🤞🪚😎
Thanks. It's always too tempting to get stuck into a list of jobs that need doing instead of just taking the time to soak up the beauty of the place 💚 💚 💚
Thanks so much. You're very kind to say so. It is so frustrating that we're restricted on how long we can spend here, so we're looking seriously at the various residential visa options for the coming year.😀🇵🇹
May be a silly question but putting a gutter on the back end where the rain comes down and divert it away from the house. Would that sound like a good idea I don’t know.

it's not a "ruined farm"; if you see like that, it'll stay that way. rather, a farm on it's process of rebirth is more like it! anyways, stay positive, stay strong 🤠😎
That’s a great angle on it, thanks a lot. We have spoken before about ‘bringing it back to life’ and within a few days of returning, each time, the difference is huge. We are planning some then-and-now segments over the Christmas break, which should remind us how far we have come. Thanks for being with us and for all your encouragement - so much appreciated.

Thanks Judy, not silly at all, the long plan is exactly that - rainwater collection into a storage tank below the kitchen area alongside a grey water harvesting system so that all the water in and from the kitchen area is saved and used. There’s a bit of engineering and construction before we get there but we are on track for it. 🌧️🚰😎🛠️🇵🇹
@ I use my kitchen water for my garden, and I saved my rain water even though I live in the city for other things hoping to get an outdoor kitchen going

hi guys, nice to see you back, good luck.
Thanks a lot, a couple of sunny days made all the difference and got us fired up for the jobs list.
its so beautifully lush and green! fun to see you just wander and taking it all in.
Thanks. It's always too tempting to get stuck into a list of jobs that need doing instead of just taking the time to soak up the beauty of the place 💚 💚 💚
Given that you're not there full time, you're both doing a wonderful job rescuing that old, neglected property .

Well done guys 😊

It all looks a bit forlorn when you first arrive back, but within a couple of days it perks up.
So true, and very pleased how we are getting the hang of it and so how quickly it becomes “ours” again.
