Finally Microsoft decided to pull their head outta their a**. They’re letting third parties make wireless controllers. They had a monopoly on it FOR EVER. (Coming from an Xbox gamer)
@@FIVESTRZ it’s crazy that Xbox is so strict about wireless controllers: licensing. They force the manufacturer to pay a fee, and most companies aren’t willing to. 🤦♂️ same as with headsets. That’s why headsets are usually compatible with everything BUT Xbox. So irritating.
I saw this controller at Best Buy today. I’m not big on gaming anymore but when I do I like a really nice controller. I’ve fallen in love with the series 2 but after about 2 years the rubber falls off the controller and it needs to be replaced. I’d like to see the series 3 improve on the series 2 but I believe this controller could push the industry in the right direction.
I’ll give you my honest 1 star Amazon review: I was really excited to try this controller after watching countless reviews. The colour scheme matched the whole aesthetic of my pc setup, the idea of being able to remap the back paddles on fly without the need for software sounded brilliant. The fight pad was really nice to use for Street Fighter. All seemed like I was buying the perfect controller… However without doing proper research about the interchangeable modules I ordered this without knowing you can’t order the modules separately… you would expect to be able to buy replacement modules in event of getting stick drift or sunken buttons, but you just can’t. Needing a whole new controller just because one of the modules have gone faulty seems idiotic to me. The analogue sticks are useable, but they are not the best you can get, they are not hall effect joysticks. Also, you can’t adjust the response “curves” for the analogue sticks like you can on other pro controller’s software. The trigger stops “work” but they are not great either, if set to the minimum (mouse clicks) they are wayyy too easy to press I found that I had to fine tune them to about 25% just so I could rest my fingers on them without them actuating. That being said, after fine tuning them to where I needed them to be it was quite easy to reset them back to mouse clicks in game by accident because my fingers accidentally would flick the locking mechanism. Which was also a problem as the deadzone set for how you needed them would now be out of bounds rendering them temporarily useless. Conclusion: there are just much better controllers out there around this price point. It’s not worth spending the money on this controller with this many issues. I like the aesthetic and functionality of this controller, it was just poorly executed in my honest opinion. If Victrix fix all these issues with a new and improved controller in the future, I will definitely consider buying… but the Victrix Pro BFG as it stands gets a big fat no from me 👎🏽
@@b-gamer340 no worries man, personally I’ve gone for Xbox elite series 2 to game on my PC, but even that has got stick drift after only 2 days lol… that being said, it is still a great controller. I will be returning it for a replacement very soon. Right now, the PlayStation Dualsense Edge is the goat… I’ve been using that for about a year on my PS5 with absolutely no problems, zero stick drift so I haven’t even had to replace the analogue stick modules yet.
@@abzolini bro I am on Xbox and only play Madden and stick drift after 3 weeks to a month. Sometimes after a day. I may start gaming on my PC or just get an PS5 edge controller to play on my Xbox..
@@b-gamer340not sure if you can use the dualsense edge on Xbox, I doubt you can, and even if there was a way to do it you won’t be able to set profiles or assign the back paddles to what you want without the ps5 software. If I was you I would stick with the Xbox controller, even I don’t use my dualsense edge on my pc just because the Xbox ones work seamlessly
I really liked this controller, and I didn't actually run into any issues with it, other than the fact that I do not need a separate fighting pad for fighting games, nor do I need to change the layout. I contemplated returning it and getting another Flydigi controller. However, the Razer Wolverine v3 Pro dropped out of nowhere (with all the improvements I wanted in its predecessor), and I bought that instead.
It takes ages to charge, like around 4-5 hours, even when you use the official USB cable. Battery life is fairly decent, it doesn't last as long as my KK3 Max, but it's good enough for most ppl.
I’ve watched tons of reviews about Xbox controllers now while trying to find what to buy next. To be honest I got a bit lost. Every time something looks good there seems to be something else that puts me off. I currently use an elite 2 and the sticks are dreadful no matter what settings or tensions I try. Had it a year now (3rd one though). I tried the stick Xbox X controller yesterday and the sticks felt way better than the Elite. I used an elite 1 for over a decade and was always happy with that one. I’m looking for something that has low response time, tactile buttons, hair trigger stops, same stick feel as the stock controller, fits KontrolFreeks and has two buttons on the back or paddles. I also don’t mind if it’s wired or not. Does this controller you have reviewed fit the bill do you think. Because I was maybe thinking about the Victrix Gambit or a Gamesir (don’t know which one)
there's no controller out there with all those assets right now. you could try the one i use the Flydigi Vader 3 which basically has everything you're looking for but the sticks (KontrolFreeks don't fit on the stock sticks). you can always change out the sticks tho with a couple of modding.
@@Arenz7Link hi, thanks for the response. I actually ended up buying a Victrix Gambit and a Gamesir Kaleid. The Kaleid is amazing other than the lack of trigger stops. I glued some bits of Lego on to make my own 🤣. The Gambit is pretty good but I don’t like the seemingly built in deadzones. The triggers on the Gambit are awesome but unfortunately nothing else on it is as good as the Kaleid. Hopefully Gamesir will do one with trigger stops at some point.
Is the polling rate the same as the gambit on Xbox, I purchased and still use the gambit because of the quicker response time. Will upgrade if this is the same
Hey ECPU, I have a question about this controller. Do you have the playstation version of this? If so, do you think you could take out the xbox button and playstation button layouts on both controller and swap them around? That and can you swap the buttons between the black and white versions?
question about mapping of buttons, my left hand doesnt work can you map the left trigger and bumper to the right mappable paddles lke the elite 2 does?
Can you flip the module parts from left to right? The left thumbstick and d-pad to the right side? Can you flip the right module upside down? Where the buttons are I would like the thumbstick to be there Can you do that?
What do we do when it only wants to work as a mouse and keyboard? Yes, i did all the stream bull. It isn't syncing properly with the app out the box and doesn't work with the Xbox gamepass app on pc.
So if you need to replace the battery for this controller you can’t use rechargeable AA batteries if needed because batteries went bad? That’s my biggest concern
Kinda questionable that you didnt even mention one thing they could have done better or smth thats not that good with the controller since there are many many bad reviews and comments about Victrix products online, espeacially when it comes to reliability, sad that this is just an ad and not an honest review
Tactile mechanical switches are a deal breaker for me. Terrible design for controllers. Which is why I regret buying the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra controller.
