    Unfortunately, FCP Euro changed their lifetime replacement program and it is not for the better. Also Paypal no longer has that discounted shipping option; they terminated that program.

    What an awesome tip on PayPal! I hope this modus operandi works well for FCP so us DIY guys can continue to benefit from this cool niche service. I must say, when I ordered oil replace kit from FCP, I added a billet filter housing (that I was eyeing for a while) from them bc it was convenient to order from a single vendor. I maintain 3 cars, so it makes it a no brainer to order at least all the fluids from FCP.

    I love FCP. Crazy bastards; God bless them! Good tip about the PayPal returns. I really wish I had thought about that before buying my clutch through them! That’s a heavy box to ship back one day.

    Just wanted to let you know I subscribed to your channel based on a few things. I appreciate your no nonsensical bs just straight forward one way only … , the right way or best possible solution. The effort of cleanliness, I just saw your Autotech hpfp install . Great vid btw . Your willingness to share useful information is awesome and appreciated so thank you for that . This vid in particular was extremely informative and awesome. I am currently starting to build my 19 Gti . I bought I.E catted dp , the APR Dtr6054 big turbo, ARM fmic , Racingline DSG cooler , ECS trans/engine mounts . Vargas Turbo Technology oil catch can . I still need to order my Autotech hpfp internals , and figure out a tuning solution. Im not sure if I want to use accessport or Eurodyne Maestro suite 7 I just want to make close to 500whp and not get a check engine light so I can pass emissions. So right now I only have the Nuespeed intake and Awe catback on the car and a bunch of boxes of parts in my room. Anyways your channel is helpful so thank you sir .

    Nicer than my video on this..great job showing all steps! I do it exactly the same. The only other thing I do is keep up with it all in a spreadsheet because I have 3 VWs and staying organized maximizes the savings. The only other bit on the PayPal deal is 180 days and 12x a year max so there are some tricks if you have things you keep longer but even before I did the PayPal thing return shipping isn't that much for most items.

      Yeah, just noticed this. Pretty shitty. Their reasoning was bullshit too: "At PayPal, we’re constantly updating and developing new features for our customers. Sometimes certain services need to be phased out as a part of these bigger changes." aka, they decided they wanted to make more money by not offering this service.

    Given the changes in their policy, not sure the math works out depending on shipping costs of your return. Since you're now issued store credit (vs refund), you effectively have to buy, for example, 2 oil change kits before you'll have store credit to buy the replacement kit. Just today, FedEx and UPS quoted $50-$70 to ship (5qt oil + filter = 13lbs) from CA to CT - negating the credit you receive from the return.

    How is this possible.. They must get hundreds of jugs of used oil every day and have to pay employees to dispose of it and give thousands in refunds.. This is how idiot companies go bankrupt. Imagine buying and returning clutches and tires.... And big ticket items

    • @williampayton9515
      @williampayton9515 Рік тому

      Because there are millions of uses for used oil. They can sell the used oil and recoup those funds. Old Clutches can be refurbished and sold elsewhere, same with retreading or recapping tires. Think about the items you buy with a core deposit. Your core is rebuilt and can also be sold again as new if it meets certain quality standards. It does not have to state refurbished if it meets those standards.

    • @kenmastersmaster
      @kenmastersmaster Рік тому

      @@williampayton9515 hahaha are you fucking joking. You can't get shit for used oil, tires, clutches etc. They will sell it for pennies on the dollars. Acting like they are getting rich selling your used parts and trash to salvage yards and recycling. Obviously it's a get rich quick scheme that's why nobody else does it.
      This is a loss plain and simple and unsustainable. I bet you think looting cvs and target is also somehow profitable in your mind because of.... Reasons...or something
      Core credit is $15 on a $200 battery. Yeah real profitable. When you dispose of used tires you pay the tire shop, not the other way around. I've literally never heard of anybody reselling a clapped out clutch or worn brake pads. That's hot garbage with zero resale value.

  • @jamesg8246
    @jamesg8246 2 роки тому +1

    Accepting used oil and filters for a full refund is definitely not part of their business model, because it's a losing proposition. That's a loophole people are using and they should be ashamed of exploiting it. Sending back used oil to be properly disposed of yes. That's fine. Getting a full refund for oil and filter you used? That's not okay. They don't get back what they refunded when they dispose of your used oil and filter. They lose money every time someone does this.

    • @EVERYTHINGcpo
      @EVERYTHINGcpo  2 роки тому +12

      That’s a ridiculous and uninformed statement. First, they re-use/sell the oil and it’s recycled as heating oil. They also have videos explaining how to return your used oil and explain the policy. It’s not a “loophole” is a business model. That’s a very different thing. They EXPECT people to return used oil. They encourage it. You should be embarrassed that you don’t understand this given your shameful comment. Why don’t you do some research on the FCP Euro UA-cam channel, and get back to me. I’ll give you a good place to start: ua-cam.com/video/NuhcW_PrV1M/v-deo.html

      @@EVERYTHINGcpo I don't think they EXPECT anything. This isn't the communist bread line where everything is free. And yes you should be ashamed of returning consumables. People will target them for just free oil, and never buy anything else from them. How long do you think that can last? Not long. They think people will buy something expensive and not come back for a 2nd or 3rd time. Bezos accepts returns on anything and it took him 20 years to finally turn a profit. And even he doesn't take back used oil...
      I can see them creating this policy to win over market share, but like all good things that get taken advantage of it will go away soon. Even Costco bans people for returning too much and abusing returns.
      Who do you think pays for the return shipping through PayPal? PayPal? No the seller. And I'm sure they're pissed about it.
