Is general anesthesia or local employed during aquablation ? Does the typical patient for this procedure need to return to the urologist office after the procedure is completed ? How long will the burning sensation last after the procedure is completed ?
These are all very good questions regarding Aquablation. We cover these and more in the Prostate Health Academy where you will be able to interact with me as well as other like minded individuals. We will see you on the inside at www.prostatehealthacademy.com
Hello Donald, Yeah we have had patients travel to Kearney, Nebraska for this same reason (as their home state not currently offering the technology). We would welcome you to check out the Prostate Health Academy (www.prostatehealthacademy.com) to learn more but also to join our active private community with many active Aquablation discussions going on currently.
I'm talking to an Aquablation urologist in Feb 2023. Urolift is a kludge, Rezume seems to be a nightmare, TURP works but also depends heavilty on surgeon experience. Aquablation produces as good or better results as TURP, I've read, but with lower rates of problems and re-treatments.. Fingers crossed.
@@garrettpohlmanmd Thank you. I can appreciate that the business of medicine is still a business so I expect a urologist to have a bit of a treatment preference for those he/she actually offers. I have sat in front of two and had to dodge the color glossies being thrown at me, first for Urolift, then for Rezume. I was pleased to hear this podcast before I sit for a 3rd evaluation next month.

Would this treatment be what this doctor would choose for himself? One day he may likely need some kind of medical intervention for this rapidly increasing problem.

What the chances of getting the procedure in South Africa? Is it expensive and are there patent rights attached?
What about the bleeding?
I have heard that aquablation cannot effectively deal with bladder neck intrusion by prostate tissue; how do you get that tissue resected?
Is there an answer for this question?
I wonder what sort of anesthesia is used for aqua ablation?
Typically general anesthesia
any tissue left for biopsy? issue with bleeding? can it be done with spinal block?
how does aquablation and/or pae compare??

I’m hoping that they will bring this to Washington state! I had the Rezum procedure done and as for me I’m not happy with the outcome.

It really depends on the Prostate size and anatomy as there is not a one size fits all treatment for BPH
Thank you...helpful....
