What a dead crowd for such an inspiring teacher! 16 minutes in and I've barely heard a chuckle for his wit and cleverness on top of the quality of his instruction! I seriously hope it was just the noise cancelling mics doing too good a job at blocking out the laughter and appreciation. I'd pay for lessons with this man.

As someone educated as a mathematician, I see the shapes and lines intuitively. Being good in mathematics is helpful to see a scene.

What a refreshing change from all the superficial approaches to photography that are centered on workflow and/or the Photoshop "tips and tricks" approach. Thank you Adam and B&H for the insights on taking an artistic approach to photography.

Another great and under-appreciated video from B&H with Adam Marelli. - Every single video with him has illuminated some new aspect of composition. Ignore the year, this is timeless advice. - Thank you, B&H and Adam!

Adam Marelli is absolutely amazing. This is the last of all his presentations that I could find. On top of everything else, he's given me the chance to read an absolute abhorrent unacademic book on sleep, but made up by introducing me to Constantine Manos, whose photos look absolutely stunning. I am now seeking a copy of his book.

Thank you B&H for bringing us this Master of the craft and providing a truly powerful class to the world. This is sooooo much higher quality and richer content than most of the influencer-type videos on UA-cam today. It seems like people want to isolate photography from the broader world of Art, and thus harp on elements like depth of field, leading lines, rule of thirds, and other compositional shortcuts. But the most powerful images are true works of Art in a very intentional manner, and this video is one of the FEW videos that have ever even suggested using formal art elements in photography.

One of the best I've seen. I often see an image and 'know' that its a bit special, but cant quite put my finger on why... this has helped me understand some basic concepts to explain this, which I hope will help me really improve. Also now appreciate HCB even more. Well thought out and delivered presentation - thanks B&H.

The Event Space videos are normally very good and entertaining and informative; this challenged my way of looking at the image and exposed some real weakensses in my understanding of composition. Clearly explained for someone lacking an arts backgrond and supported with clear examples to help the understanding of the point. Stunning !! Thanks !

I was thoroughly impressed & I know I will go back to this video & take notes. This first time I found myself truly enjoying the presentation and the topics presented. He is simply great. he attacks and defeats my initial understanding of photography as art. i always thought you have to have an eye for photography but he dismisses it. GREAT teacher and class! Thank you so much.
I feel bad for getting so irritated with the woman asking questions. She deserves to get the extra attention she needs to learn at her pace. At the same time, the hundreds of thousands of people watching the video would be better served by holding these types of questions to the end. That way everyone can learn at an individualized pace.
Questions about gear create basically empty space for people following the tutorial at its own pace; there's nothing to do but wait for the talk to resume or maybe try to multitask until the content comes back.
If the lecturer moves too fast or says something I don't understand, I as an UA-cam viewer have all the time in the world to pause, research. I can ask a more experienced photographer IRL and come back to the video on another day.
