I didn't see my hand placement here either although it's the same placement for my right hand as in 1048 but my left hand plays with the index on 3, middle on 2, and ring on 1. When there are scratches coming down, that's when my left hand sort of instinctively turns into full 1048 though.

i did it after reaching 10dan with symmetrical, imo 1048 is just better because your hand is closer to the scratch

so Ihave a question about playing. Where exactly are yours eyes fixed when the notes are coming down. Top, Middle or bottom?
I only ask because I am really trying to improve my game

I find myself looking at the top when I'm having an easy time reading the chart, but if I start falling behind like if the chart became suddenly denser, I find myself looking further down the lane until my hands catch up with the chart and as such, my eyes move back up the lane to the top.

most people fixed at the middle
read it and let your brain delay do the pgreat calculation
if you want to focus on pgreat, read a bit further down until you could see the judge bar
