Thank you so much for this! It's super exciting to be getting feedback on my work, and what you've said is helpful. (And don't worry, my feelings weren't hurt. XD)
What you said about the description on the back of the book not leaving enough room for mystery is mind-blowing. I will keep that in mind going forward! And I will also keep working on my 'showing', too. Do you have a favourite author who you feel has mastered the art of 'show, don't tell'?
In hindsight, I don't think I was clear in my UA-cam video. When I said the story is complex, I didn't so much mean this book, as much as I meant the whole series. 'I: The Misfit Princess' is simple and straight-forward, and just kind of gets the larger plot moving. In the next two instalments, everything gets deeper. And then in future books, I will be writing from different points of view, similar to Game of Thrones. :)
Thanks again for your support. And happy writing!

Good to know that it does get deeper. When it comes to the art of show, not tell, I would say Ken Kesey and Robert Jordan. Ken Kesey is the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Robert Jordan is the author of The Wheel of Time.
