Looks like he is being forced is the feedback I have been getting. Somebody needs to take these guy in front of Guru Maharaj and then ask the questions. No matter what you can’t deny that he abused his position as a trustee to get a character reference for his son who has now been convicted for murder.
This was a teribble crime and my condolences goes out to Ronans family. As a father i feel for this man. A parent can teach there children right from wrong but no parent can watch over there children 24 hours. No parent ever wants to hear that their child has been murdered nor that their child has murdered another child. The perpetrators of this crime have been tried and convicted. A parent will try there best to help there child. Let there be a full enquiry with regards to the reference's provided and then make decide who is right or wrong. Let he without sin cast the first stone.
My deepest condolences to Ronans family.I feel I just need to say that the situation with regards to role of gurdwara committees is being conflated by this situation. And I cant help thinking why Willenhall has been targeted over Pleck. There are 3 families that have been destroyed by this situation. It could easily have been others in their shoes. I expect many parents are thinking ""there for the grace of God I go". There is nothing wrong with seeking a character reference, its whether an inaccurare one was supplied. And from what it seems this situation was out of character for his son .We need to use this situation to understand why this is happening, open up our eyes and realise that we are just as vulnerable as the wider community. Our children are susceptible to influence of social media, knife crime, drugs, gang culture etc... We do need gurdwara committees to modernise and move with the times, openly address these issues but also at the same time so does our community. These were 16 year olds.... an age where mental health issues can manifest in many ways.They have been tried in court and given their punishment. This situation requires a restorative approach, for all families concerned. Not jury by UA-cam.
like he said every household is effect screaming at one other is going to get anyone anywhere. disrespecting and putting others down isn’t going to make anything better.
