The method on the left is based on the "quarter Method" as taught by Mohammed in:

The method on the right is seen in Daud Sutton's Islamic Geometry book as well as taught by tutors at Art of Islamic Pattern and the Princes School of Traditional Arts.
Both constructions are based on authentic patterns seen in situ, but do have a subtle difference in how the petal sits in the central star.
It seems that more complex patterns require one or the other depending on the motifs that surround it. For example, from a discussion on the Drawing Islamic Geometric Designs group on Facebook:

The method on the right is used in the Alhambra in Granada for an 16-8 pattern.

This is strict parametric architecture. A classical Grasshopper 3D class must use these as lessons.

When you make on one pattern its look easy but when you make copy of pattern you skip 2 steps . Please make it slowly thanks

you can change the playback speed on UA-cam to make it slower.... look at the settings.
