I love it. Just sold my Elektron Machinedrum. They cant be compared of course. But I already made way more music on the Uno Drum. For 1/10 of the price. To me electronic music is meant to be easy and fun. This piece of plastic is easy and fun. And it sounds great for the price. Now thanks to you I discovered these ext packs 👍More fun. Great video ❤️
I bought it in the fall of 2023, I was completely satisfied with the sound, I loaded bass and melodic samples and I got an inexpensive groovebox. The only complaint is the lack of polyrhythms.
Dude! For years I have just wanted a stand-alone machine to load old drum machines for use without a computer. I always have to use a computer or iPad. Was considering the new Roland to do it. But you just sold me on how to resolve this issue! Thank you so much!
This is an excellent demo of what this thing can sound like. Thank you! I ordered one on a bit of a whim this week, and this has assured me I made a good choice. Too excited for it to arrive...
Great coverage that helps take the pain out of loading them all in before you known what you’re in for. Just got mine its a blast. Still learning how to fix the included bugs! Thanks for the hard work
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf for the last couple of weeks :)
This is THE bargain drum machine. I love mine. Wish there was a more pro version available, individual outs, pads, better build quality. I'd buy it. Feels like it's always about to break.
So, with this device you have 40 drummachines?? Are they all in the Uno as it comes or do you have to download them everytime you wan't a new drumkit, and delete the one on the device? I wanna have it! I have the Drumbrute Impact but the Uno sounds way better and more options!
Totally late to the UNO Drum party (and just joined your Patreon!), but wanted you to know how great these UD videos were. Had no idea these Anthology releases were available. Was about to buy a TR-6S but went with this instead. I hate working with drum machines, but you convinced me I’d really enjoy this.
Thanks for joining me on Patreon, very much appreciated. I hope the drum machine works for you. I quite enjoy getting out of the box and messing about - it always brings a fresh perspective.
I find this „Drum anthology package“ idea very interesting. Because it is a „sound package” from outside environment, which actually means that IK Multimedia Uno Drum has re-writable sample slots. I think it could be interesting to see, if IK Multimedia would provide the end-users with tools to make their own drum kits, you can basically download those “Drummachine kit collections” for free online.
Great that you can now put all these sounds in the UNO. Now we only need a decent way to get any of sounds out of the UNO (other than through one mono output ;))
they are on reduced price with a local retailer on ebay right now and ebay are offering a discount on top of that so i think i might have to jump on it :) *just made the purchase, saved $85 all up, this vid helped seal the deal ;)
I think their concept is all the 40 drum machines are all analog, not Digital/PCM drum machines. This is why the majority is the 1970s style rhythm boxes.
This seems like a great little unit. The only thing with a unit like this or an Aria TR-8 or even software emulations like UVI that I wonder about are combo rhythms. The original machines like a TR-77 or AutoVari 64 allow you to push multiple buttons and combine a rock beat with a samba or any of their various buttons for tons of combinations. The quirky thing I notice with my old machines is when I push two rhythm buttons at once for a combo playback, the beat isn't exactly a combo of the two. The output is a funky hybrid of the two with different pickup notes and even if they don't have swing functions, the swing does groove differently when I play the combos. I'd love for these machines, or a software developer to mimic this behavior. It won't keep me from looking at these machines, especially at the price point, but I'm not ready to get rid of my old machines so long as I have an audio to clock converter to use them in a modern rig. Other than that question, it's hard to have anything specifically negative to complain about at the price/feature options these modern machines give us, and for those of us who can't afford an authentic CR-78, this will open up a whole world of classic rhythm sounds.
Not per drum ie you can’t use the analog snare + a PCM snare . But you can have a PCM snare and analog kick... so you can mix and match in a kit but can’t add both to a sound. You do have 2 kicks so you can double up there.
yes. loading samples onto the volca is a pain in the ***. Knobs are bigger on the UNO and you got analog Sounds - but all Mono. Sample is Stereo....but yeah...Sample Sucks! Get a MC101 instead ;)
Great vid. I don't why IKmm did not take the time to do the same. ONE THING...you play each of the separate kits, and show what IKmm states that they are, according to the website....the issue is (gauging from the machines I've owned and my ear), the IKmm website has a written list and a series of images. The order of the images do not match the order the written list (as far as I can tell). Can you post a list of the order of what sampled machine, from each of the Anthologies, you played? ie: "Anthology 3, clip 1: Korg blah blah, clip 2: other Korg"...etc. Thanks!
Thanks. I'd assumed the files were in the same order as the lists on the website I show. I can't say for definite with some of the packs, but the Roland TR, and a couple of others seemed to be in the same order. I wouldn't know if the Rhythm Ace variations for example are correct.
@@MrMissingReel Not used an 808 myself. But on the Uno you tap the pad you want, and select each step you want a hit on. You have up to 64 steps to play with. Or you can do it on the fly with REC on.

Thanks for the reply, I was seriously considering Behringer RD8. After watching many reviews, including yours, I am not that crazy about it. I have see some Rytm vids and had a little twiddles in a local shop. I will be covering Roland, Elektron and Behringer over the next few weeks and anything else that throws its Rimshot at me. Thanks for the choice I will be glancing my beady eye over a review or two.
@@StarskyCarr Yes, the Tr8s was on my hit list, right from the Sonic State review last year. I was really on the 600 mins (or 300 stereo) sample time. Loved all the ins and outs and the tight sounds. But, no chromatic sample play back and a missing song mode. I don't think these issues have been dealt with or they need dealing with. Looked at the used prices and they really look attractive now. I've got a feeling Roland won't be investing a lot of time turning the TR8s into a wonder box by undates. It is in my top 5 at the moment. It's Groove Agent for me until I grab some more info on the field.
The fact you can only load one Bank at a time... sad. How do you use it for a Live when you need like 10 seconds to switch machine, and have to turn it off/on with pop? Btw you'd have to wait one second before turning it on again to not destroy it. Or have one Uno Drum per Bank ; ) I've read somewhere the samples are not from the originals, but 100% inspired and recreated with near results. Maybe that's the reason why there are no Linn and DMX for now, as they might be a little more difficult to mimic. An SD card reader and USB multi-out would definitely make it a serial killer. Now, as it is and for 200 bucks, no reason to think twice.
This awesome but there is one bummer I just found out. If you buy it second hand and don't have the serial number to register it you cannot download this sound pack which is the boat I am in :-(
Have you contacted IK Multimedia? I know you have to log into your account and download from there but can’t you register the unit if it’s been previously registered?
@@StarskyCarr thanks for the reply. IK did sort things out for me, the previous owner never registered the UNO so they sent me a serial, otherwise it would be $20 to transfer the registration which I would understand for plug-ins but it seems silly for hardware products. I just wish they would have this available for download from their website like practically every other vendor out there.
