I had the most memorable childhood memory from the late 1950's when I lived in Inglewood CA. We went to Disneyland not long after they opened and I was fortunate to see the entire original BUFFALO BILLS and not to many years later when I saw them in the Music Man I was shocked that they were the same group. I am well into my 70's now and I have loved Barber Shop ever since then, By the way if anyone has ever used the Disneyland Barber Shop on Main Street bu the fire house I did see them in there one time actually singing while people were getting haircuts. Talk about memories that I will always treasure and today's kids will never know
Wow. Thank you for sharing. My dad made me a fan of The Music Man film as a kid. And these guys were integral to that production. We need more barbershop quartets. The world is better for them.
@@jorgepancho Go to UA-cam and check out BHS Barbershop Harmony Society, they just had their International Contest and have a new gold medalist quartet and chorus. You will not be disappointed.
I loved this song so much that I named my beloved pup Lida Rose. She was with me 18+ years. I would sing this song to her. I would also babysit for a couple whose husband was in a quartet. Was fortunate enough to go to a show and see Grandma's Boys. My friend would always talk about the afterglow and after afterglow. That was so many many years ago.
This brought a tear...in a good way! Meredith Willson was my grandmother's cousin. His mother was Rosalie, and her favorite sister was Lida...my great grandmother. This was beautifully done, and I thank you!
Main Street is a wonderful quartet ! I was lucky enough to see The Music Man on Broadway and have seen Main Street many times......great singing from both!
I didn’t know these guys were in the Broadway show as well as the movie! Very cool. And honestly just another reason why Music Man ‘62 is one of the great Broadway-to-film adaptations!
@@chuckcharlie5142 The Main Street Quartet is great, but not as great as the Bills! The Bills did more than any other quartet in history to popularize Barbershop Quartet singing in America.
Hi guys, I just want to tell you to make sure that your videos aren't configured as "for children". This configuration prevents us to leave comments on your videos, and that's so infuriating not to be able to comment when you find someone's video great !

there ia a guy who does the buffalo bills with lida rose
Now, THIS is how a Barbershop Quartet should Sound. They aren't as Good as They used to be these Days. Ain't no One as Perfect as the Buffalo Bills...
Gosh I miss this group

Never been matched - simply the best - the new revival Quartet comes pretty close!
Definitely my favorite barbershop quartet. Can't wait to see more from your group!
Pure mastery of the craft

Who's the one speaking at the beginning and end?
the main street quartet...much smother...thats why they are the champs

@@chuckcharlie5142 No, his question is which Buffalo Bill is speaking at the beginning and end of this video.
I believe it's Bills lead singer Al Shea speaking at the beginning and end of the video.
