I started working on a build using this unique a while ago, another thing I figured out is: the conversion nodes don't work, because you are converting drain life's damage, but drain life CASTS Stygian Beams, which is a different necrotic spell, unaffected by conversion. It also is a hit-skill, unlike drain life itself, so it doesn't scale with damage over time, but it can scale with crits.
if anyone is curious i have played to 200 corruption whilst being r6 mg ( so no actual good gear) and it works fine. can def feel the damage dropping off as you go higher tho. so you can try it out to check the playstyle, and have a chill one to farm low corruption if you want, just dont expect to reach 500+ corruption easily with it
Waaaait, didn't this just get patched (1.0.3) ? Are you planning to make an updated video to review the changes ? Curently leveling a lich as an alt, I was planning to go Death Seal/Bone Curse while waiting for this to get fixed but if this works I'll go straight for it.
In regards to the mana regen with Wandering Spirits, if they do fix it there is an alternative you could try: Take Bone Curse with the Bone Prison and both of it's sub nodes, then in Drain Life take the Hecatomb node. Bone Prison is considered a minion and therefore you can drain mana from your Bone Prison.
I'm playing Dr3adful's warlock version and now thinking about switching to my necro and seeing how a wraithlord/laserlord duo would go! :D (I think they also recently patched the Coal/drain life node to centre the cast on you, rather than at the cursor, so you can only effectively have 1 DL out, not sure if they stack though)
Love the build but hate the visual effect of the laser beam drain life. It feels intrusive with how bright it is and the crunching sound. I’m trying to think of a melee Warlock variant using Fissure, as I love how soft and smoky the visual looks. I’m not convinced I’m doing to well but it looks fun, so I’ll be trying it today. I call it the Nurgle Knight build and it uses Harvest to hit harder with more poison stacks. I’ve gone with 2 body guard Gollums to to help with aggro and a bit of healing. 😊

You slam 999 stacks of poison down and most of them just melt until you start pushing past 300 corruption. I've ran my version of this build to 550 so far, I could push further but I can feel it starting to fade at this point.
so i have played this game like 300 hours in beta if u convert channeling to non channeling ... then anything that works with channeling will not work it ... this was covered in adev stream
Any information on when these bugs will start being fix with next patchwork/update? Not just with this class but others seem to have minor problems here and there
Thats a shame, in he pre-release i started a Lich and never finished it. I waited till full-release before i jumped back into the game. The wraith lord build is what i been running the most. I got a falconer, druid, and a hammerdin. I just like the necro best. Just trying to get better gear to get my DPS up. Or figure out what i can SLAM together with what i got to make it better.

Stygian Coal says that it cast Stygian Beam instead of its normal draining effect (it does not change drain life just trigger something else). You have to use ring from Julia with good roll 1)its have mana regen 2) the bonus are doubled or tripled after traveler skill used on 4 second(i dont remember exactly). So you can make t7 x2-3 on ring manaregen or int
There's many abilities that are currently broken and many that are old and don't have enough synergy to make a build with... Sad but what's there is still worth playing
Why not play warlock with this build tho? Just stay necrotic and get the necrotic overload and let the spell to be a channel ability for the buffs from warlock tree for the channel spells

Why have you built Poison/DoT when Stygian Beams are Necrotic and not a DoT? I suspect you are simply adding a lot of Poison stacks via standard Poison on Hit and the Beans casting so fast, while the Beams themselves are doing no damage of any significance. I suspect that a crit/Necrotic build would be better.
That's right, with dark shackles you can slam 999 poison stacks down pretty quickly. The mana multiplier makes an insane difference though on this build. I get poison ticks of >1.5m at peak.
sad this is broken, i just switched to the death seal build from max rolls leveling build and I absolutely hate it, and for some reason its sucks at damage compared to leveling build even though i have better gear
@@mrgreen497 Drain life yes....stygian coal is annoying to try and test stuff on so i really cant say. Try Last epoch tools and dial down to the ability description.
i would recommend getting 2 omnis rings to cap all res(good ones), and also +2 all skills....then u can focus full on getting t6-t7 int gear and roll the others then it should be better, tried it offline with "dev tool" and its not bad, its not as good as like falconer or other builds, but its a really good build for lazy people :) and also if this build gets "fixed" it should be really good so maybe just farm some gear with a other char and make this build when it gets "fixed"
@@cr6458 ya? Farm the boss or buy them, u dont need perfect ones btw, i focused one for ele res and one for the pyhs nec poi void… thats it, then u get 4 big 4slot idols and the 4 1slot idols u can use to res cap u. I bought mine for 500k both of them, thats cheap tbh
The more I play this game the more and more bugs I find in every single aspect of the game and it's getting more and more infuriating. I'm genuinely wondering why exactly it was released now because 3 to 5 months wouldn't have been much to fix all these bugs ...
its because of pressure from PoE2 beta(its going to come out basically feature complete and be a stress test), once thats out they will have no room in the market, so releasing now is the only chance they have to catch a lot of eyes.
They don't have the manpower to find all these bugs. let alone fix them. D4 had similar situations like these, but Blizzards had the resources to patch them quicker while fixing server issues. The dev's should start fixing in-game bugs after the servers are more stable .
It's a bit childish to think they should/can wait forever until there are no more or very few bugs. If they had waited 3 more months they would have produced content in the meantime and added more bugs. It's close to impossible to produce a game like this without bugs. PoE has very old bugs still discovered to this day. That being said, yes, it sucks that there are so many, hopefully the focus on fixing them.

I dont get why this has so many upvotes, if you take dark shackle with stygian beam you cant drain mana off of minions. Go test it out yourself

Then it's obviously another bug because there's nothing that indicates it shouldn't work. The only node affected by Dark Shackles is Blood Pact.

Hello! I liked the build, but in the video the gameplay doesn't show how it deals with bosses. Is she good for that?

I'm trying to do this build by leveling but it's really difficult for me to proceed in reaper mode by taking the "Lay Waste" node

Poison hit isn't a thing. Poison is solely a dot applicator. That's why that didn't work for the beam damage.
