Star K Ranch Eaglet Growing Fast

As reported in our previous issue of Raptor Chronicles, the Star K Ranch/Morrison Nature Center nest is a success! Only one eaglet has been produced, and it's growing quickly. The parents are very attentive, and Peter has seen the female fly off from the nest and return within twenty minutes with lunch. So far, it's been prairie dogs and cottontail rabbits that he's seen delivered to the nest. We'll keep our camera at the ready so our readers can follow the eaglet's progress. I have been following this nest for about three years and was thrilled this year to see what appeared to be parental feeding of nestlings about a month ago. I always take my Sony A6000 w/70-300 lens in an effort to capture any memories that I can. It was AMAZING to see this video captured by Raptor Education Foundation that SO exceeds what I can see through my eyes and my camera lens. This video makes it simple to recognize the larger female and also just how this pair interacts with one another. It was super fun to see the eaglet spreading its wings to see just how big it has grown and to also clearly see the pin feathers on the wings. Stunning video! Thank you!
