- The Special Atomic Demolition Munition (SADM) is a compact nuclear bomb designed for use by sabotage units. Some kind of a nuclear bag.
With a weight of 26 to 32 kg and dimensions that could fit inside a large bag, the SADM could be carried and used by one person without the help of special vehicles or equipment.
The charge was planned to be used as part of sabotage activities, mining and destruction of strategic facilities and infrastructure. Special squads were created to use the charges.
According to official information, they were in service until the end of the 1980s. Never used.

In the 1980's, the U.S. Army has an MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) called 12E or Twelve Echo. Soldiers with this MOS were trained to carry a tactical atomic munition into battle. Their mission was to emplace the munition at a pre-determined location on the battlefield, and arm the weapon. The soldier would then leave the area and allow the atomic munitions to detonate. The atomic munition was designed to "Take out a grid square"; approximately 1000m X 1000m area. The program was discontinued in the late 80's. Who knows where the atomic munitions went?
Nuclear hand grenades. I’ll bet they had them. Special units of Homer Simpsons.
The Brits put a snook in HRCs snizz.
In terms of yield it was only about 200tons…
Smaller weapons are maybe possible, americiam 241 is a element that could be used to produce a cigarette sized bomb I have read which makes smoking even more deadly.
I’ve heard Russians lost a few of this bombs in 1990’s
Possible. But the Soviet ones had permissive action links, so you need special codes and such to actually use it. The U.S SADM just has a combination lock
@@cascadianrangers728Don't let Lockpicklawyer near those.
@@copter2000Exactly what I was thinking. 😂
Reminds me of the old slav shopping video where a dude is wearing a huge speaker backpack and a gas mask
Im sorry the algorithm fvcked over your channel. Still great content tho
12 Russian briefcase NB’s went missing when the wall came down. These things could easily take out as strategic airport from outside the perimeter, moreover, their whereabouts are still unknown.
Great video
Frightening but fascinating.
If the government ever lost a few of these they'd never admit it.
USA Has lost several never found nukes. Look up "Broken Arrow" not the action movie but military history
@@kellyward7090 yes, the one the bomber jettisoned over Maryland is really troubling. There is also tons of nuclear material missing that the AEC says are just accounting errors. I believe our government probably gifted this material to Israel and accounting errors are a poor cover story.
nuclear grenade when?
Ay 7 months later you finally uploaded, may The Algorithm bless you!!!
He has been uploading on his skyships channel
These are already in place.
When people can't get started this is how it ends
6:50 imagine if all the settings are just for show and really just trigger immediate detonation to prevent the device from being discovered, disarmed and captured
Interesting video. Now that I watched this I might binge all the videos by Horizon
Something tells me that the US, Russia and others still have plenty of these.
They are MUCH smaller now
They took them out of service many years ago. Too small to be of any use aside from their original purpose of blowing dams.
Oh for sure they have WAAAAAY worse/devastating/powerful and now they probably are cell phone sized😅
Don't forget the nuclear hand grenade !
I don't think they were all withdrawn they could be hidden behind enemy lines
What... What happens if you turn the dial past 27 hours?
Integer overflow error?
@@JinKee ngl kinda scared of it bro lol
Good stuff
nuclear tank rounds
Sir, your sunburns are not service related...
IEEEEE!!!
AMAZING HOW MANY THE US ARMY HAS 'LOST'.
We had certain buildings in vietnam that had one of these in them in case they were overrun. Intelligence hubs. Nobody talks abouy it but it happened.
