Gotta say "D&D" here includes Pathfinder and other RPG game systems, as much as I am a fan of 5e. The original Critical Role tabletop game was with the rules of Pathfinder 1.0.
Pre-stream though. Starting with c1e1, it was 5e with some mechanics carried over from PF like the Gunslinger class, or Pike being the cleric of Sarenrae, etc.
@@Baraz_Red 5e is a much-needed revision of the rules after 4e. There's a picture of a bear next to Travis's head on the wall behind him.
That is all.
Why is that so interesting? It’s just a random Trinket
I'm so thankful being introduced to Critical Role late in 2022. The way they weave stories FROM their characters is amazing.
The fact that this is so mainstream is insane. This show is gonna be fantastic
I AM SO EXCITED!! AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!! I'M ABOUT TO LOSE CONTROL AND I THINK I LIKE IT!
dying @ "Percival "Percy" Fredrickstein" they really couldnt be assed to put his whole name
also damn y'all, watch the spoilers with this "vex de rolo" shit
It’s so cool how much more popular dnd is becoming again after people starting uploading campaigns. It’s like something I never got to do in my childhood now I get to experience as an adult!
I just hope there’s a Scanbo scene. Oh, and the door!
Travis saying "hopefully we can make as many seasons as we want", with 11million dollars attached to the show, knowing full well that if amazon cancels the show the Critters will just finance a new one.
I am so happy to see this all come to fruition for them.
OMG Liam's bookshelf 🤓❤️
“If we make more season” Lyly better give use the entire campaign, the adventures of the darrington brigade spin off, the mighty nine. I want it all. Full on naruto/one piece length life span if you ask me hahahahaha
hearing travis at the end of this brings a smile to my face, i was hoping they would continue on to other story archs for other seasons because the chroma conclave n vecna story arch is really what epic high fantasy is really made of, so excited for this series
im here for vox machina and I love that they drop three epsidoes a week. second best to a total binge
Does Talisen have an Edison wax cylinder machine behind him? That’s pretty dope.
(Am I the only one to notice this or care?)
I think most people just took it for granted that talisen would have that and a skull in the background it warmed my heart to see trinket behind travis though
Not into role-playing games but I was immersed and thoroughly entertained by the animated series. It was fun and had an incredible storyline that had a pace and was never dull. Hope to see a season 2 since it was left on a cliffhanger.
I saw the first three episodes. It was awesome. Can't wait for more. In fact, announce the second season already.
I'm so immensely proud and thankful for them 💓
I've never really played DnD, i've always wanted to, but i've never had any friends that are interested in it. Still upset about it and i'll never get over it :(
I just noticed Frumpkin on the shelf behind Liam and I’m going to sob now.
based on the soundtrack it sounds like pike's death is coming and we're finally going to get to see it play out in all of it's tragic glory
Loving the show so far, keep 'em coming!
lol Percival Fredrickstien i think they missed half the name there
Percival Frederickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III. Of Whitestone.
@@steelangel9039 i would of been fine if they called him Percival de Rolo III but no
I like how they really tidied up here and their backgrounds, compared to their narrative telephone series where the vibes were so chill as if ur on a zoom vidcall with friends 😌
Wjeird that Laura Bailey is credited as "Vex'ahlia de Rolo". Hmmm...
"Not just the first season but the 2nd and any that come after that"
Does that mean they already know there will be a second season?
yes, they got a deal for 2 seasons :)
Yes, I believe it will be centered around the Craghammer which, if memory serves me correctly, is the start of the Chroma Conclave.
@@jeremy03ify No, Kraghammer is the first ark they skip entirely in the animated series, Chroma Conclave is its own ark that comes after Briarwoods
Yeah, as a teen gamer in the 80's there was definitely a sort of "secret handshake" for roleplayers. Rule #1 of D&D is that we don't talk about D&D, in public. Rule #2 of D&D is WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT D&D IN PUBLIC! LOL!
I think it's awesome that new gamers don't have to worry about that ~ at least not nearly as much. And I feel sorry for all of the people of my generation that didn't play because of the stigma associated with it. To those people I would say: it's ok to game now. What are you waiting for?
What would be AWESOME if they go from VM:s story, for the series and then after they have done VM. They go to M9 story as a serie and after that one go to Bells Hells story serie! I dont know what you guys think, BUT i WOULD support that!!! LOVE VM, M9 and Bells Hells!!! But the most one i LOVE is VM!!!
Never give up on you dream and you're dream will never give up on you it's all right to think just not to long or 5 year's will have pass trun what you r thinking into a thought and in that thought find out what you have to do to make it a reality and make it a action

@@steelangel9039 True. 5e is more accessible and simpler, and super popular (!), so better suited for the live play.
@@Baraz_Red 5e is a much-needed revision of the rules after 4e. Open Gaming License ftw 🙂
That being said, Matt Mercer could run anything as rules-light as FATE Core, or as rules-heavy as GURPS, they just decided to go for what was widespread enough and available at all times in case of giveaways and such. Great business hunch.
I Just found this show and I fucking love it 🤣
F in chat to the LOVM-only people who got spoiled by Laura's title card...
It's happening guys!
So hyped to watch this!!!
It seems highly unlikely, but I hope they at least do an OVA or something to touch on the underdark portion of campaign 1. That's still one of my favorite segments of all 3 campaigns so far and I've been hoping they'll do more underdark stuff some day!
Sadly, they will probably not do anything that features Tiberius...
My favorite interview to date.
Having DMd for years… I am impressed by RPGs going mainstream.
Still one of my favorite shows ever.
I can't be the only one that *grogs* arc was my favorite?????
Still my favourite fight to watch to this day!
I love Pike Trickfoot, favorite character by far
#1 on Prime!!!
