They are all amazing and I don't want to take away from any of the other cast member's performances but for me Liam has some of the best acted and powerful character moments, especially with Caleb in Campaign 2, they can make you immediately emotional, even out of context and when spliced amougst funny moments like here. Plus there's the method acting he does at the table too, you see it sometimes with Vax as well but with Caleb it's even more noticeable like when they encounter Trent for the first time and Liam doesn't say a word but IRL looks terrified and almost catatonic.
That... that would explain why I personally always feel like anything this man does rips my heart out.

Love how everyone else’s is almost pure jokes but there are several minutes dedicated to heart-wrenching Caleb widogast character development. Matt gets a lot of Credit, but Liam’s creation and performance of Caleb is in a league of its own too.
Caleb was some of the most insane character development and they had the most gut wrenching moments and Liam's acting is the reason that happened. Matt threw the pitch, but every time Liam took that and made gold with it. He was a depressing fuck, but he was my favourite, and he was masterfully acted. My life is richer for having watched Liam's performance as Caleb. And that is Art.
No joke, the way Caleb’s arc went and the resolution he found really helped me deal with my grief over my mom’s death. I hope I can tell Liam that someday.

Of all the raw ass lines that came out of Caleb, my favorite still has to be that moment when he incinerates Lorenzo at the end of C2E29, casually sits down on the steps and goes: "You shouldn't have killed my cat."

Which if I remember correctly, Lorenzo didn't even do. He just killed someone else, but not the Cat
The point being that Caleb was completely exhausted (and "For Molly" was too on the nose, as Liam said on a Talks Machina (rip))

I don’t think it’s a controversial thing to say that Liam O’Brien is the most versatile player at that table.
I think it's either him or Sam. Sam may play a charisma 20 character as Scanlan, but Sam himself is a charisma 30 as a person. The fact that he can go from buying spices as drugs to having like a 5 minute monologue pleading to his daughter to forgive him that was so good that Matt gave him fucking advantage on the roll really tells how he is as an actor. Still, Liam, Taliesin and Sam are a great fucking trio that can go from one end to another in a split second with ease, all phenomenal actors.
@@pablosoria4071 don't undersell Travis either. He's the only one that can give Sam a run for his money when it comes to quick wit. And while he hasn't had incredibly deep characters, his dedication to role-playing his characters without metagaming is inspirational to say the least.
@@AugmentedSmurf yeah, Travis is amazing too. He is super committed to role playing and I love it. I am yet to watch campaign 2 but him as Grog is so funny and he steals the show sometimes, he knows when to keep quiet but also when to throw a joke out there or be fucking reckless and savage as Grog. Everyone in the show is great and they are all amazing actors.

I love that line cause it's pretty much a main tenant of how look at things IRL, I'm a big believer in platonic love and deeply cherish all the moments spent with many peoople both past and present. It can of course apply to romantic relationships and familial relationships too.
The Speak N Spell voice will never not wrench my heart when I hear it. Liam just grabs it in both hands, and slowly rips it in two so that only a single thread remains to pull it back together.

THE PIE SEQUENCE WAS MY FAVOURITE SHIT EVER also I think I fell in love with Liam the moment I came on and heared someone do an authentic accent of my language that _wasn't_ a H*tler rip off and all the little details of him researching our actual culture instead of going "haha, Bratwurst and Lederhosen, right?"
I think Liam studied German and lived there for some months, he knows how to speak the language and knows the culture, plus he’s a respectable person lmao

somewhere Cassandra Claire has an idea for a new bestselling dark fantasy romance
'i was richer for having known you' and that entire one shot is engraved on my soul forever. i'd hit such a low place in my life when i found CR and liam's first one shot just. . . resonated with me on a level nothing else did. i'd abandoned my friendships for pseudo relationships with voices in my head and that whole experience the cast went through in that session made me go 'no, i want people in my life again.' i will never not cry when i watch it.
It's weird because ever since I started my "CR journey" as one might say, watching C2, the very first thing that happened to me was me sitting there throughout the entire episode just being completely unable to understand exactly what it was that was happening whenever I looked at Liam, and I realized that for some reason he just felt so incredibly *familiar* to me. Like, not as in I knew his voice or anything like that, but like for some reason I kept getting the feeling that I knew him somehow. And ever since then, I've slowly developed into knowing that I, out of every person in the cast, for some reason just like him the most. It's like somehow he made me feel like I'd known him for years in an instant. And I don't know what it is about him, but his performance as Caleb just blew me away time and time again. He is a phenomenal actor, a genuinely funny person, and I think he's the biggest reason I'm excited to start catching up on C1 as well because so far what I've seen of Vax just doesn't click the same way but I really hope it does
The same happened to me, i started with C2 and was liam and caleb that made me love CR, and i was felling the same about Vax and that there was no way come even close to caleb, but after watching C1 vax and caleb share my top 1...
I had this experience as well! This familiarity that somehow transcends the screen. Especially with caleb, who I latched onto incredibly strongly. This tragic character who is genuinely funny and grows so much when he finds people who love him as he is. Aww man now I gotta rewatch c2 lol
Oh man oh man I'm excited for you! The same thing happened to me, but I started with C1. It took me a while to realize, cause I usually have a hard time picking favorites in anything, but after two weeks - around 40 episodes in - it just dawned on me that yep he's the fave. Vax sneaked into my my heart just like that, subtle but consistently phenomenal, and Liam right along with him.

I was just watching the rest of these yesterday and was wondering “wait why isn’t there one for Liam”
Liam playing the long game, writing up Caleb and planning all these elaborate and incredibly emotional monologues ready knowing there'd be an animated series down the line and he can win an Emmy with the voice performance.
Gotta love Liam. He is a genuine and funny guy, but also has the ability to deliver these heart-wrenching scenes.

Everyone else's compilations - mostly jokes and goofs and lighthearted stuff. Liam's compilation - jokes, goofs, EMOTIONAL DAMAGE, lighthearted stuff, GUT PUNCH... Gotta love that man. He hurts me on the regular and I keep coming for more. Also, it's impossible not to melt when he does the cuddlefish. I dare anyone to try.

My favorite line, was at some time in one of the early streams, I can never remember which, they revealed some item of merch and then went on break, but they didn't cut the audio in time and you can just hear off mic Liam say "I want to jizz all over that" and it has stuck with me to this day, I will have to try and find it.
