Confused Reviews - Episode 57 - Rocky III (1982) 🥊
Rocky III is a 1982 American sports drama film written, directed by, and starring Sylvester Stallone. The film is the sequel to Rocky II (1979) and the third installment in the Rocky film series. It also stars Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, and Burgess Meredith. In the film, Rocky Balboa (Stallone) faces stiff competition from Clubber Lang (Mr. T), a powerful new contender, and turns to his old adversary Apollo Creed (Weathers) to help him train.
Development of the film began soon after the release of its predecessor. Stallone began a strict diet and workout regimen in preparation for Rocky III. Despite the returns of the original cast being secured quickly, casting for Lang proved difficult, with real boxers Joe Frazier and Earnie Shavers attached to the project at various points. Mr. T was hired in 1981 after appearing on the television series Games People Play and the film is considered his breakthrough role. Rocky III is the first film in the franchise not solely distributed by United Artists, due to the company's merger with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1981.
Rocky III was released in the United States on May 28, 1982, by MGM/UA Entertainment Co. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its action sequences and music but criticism for its screenplay, with some critics deeming the film unnecessary. Restrospective reviews have been more positive and the movie gained a strong cult following. Rocky III grossed $270 million worldwide, surpassing its predecessors to become the then-highest grossing film in the franchise, and the fourth highest grossing film at the domestic box office and the second highest grossing film of 1982 worldwide. Its theme song, "Eye of the Tiger", became a hit single and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. The sequel, Rocky IV, was released in 1985.

I always liked Hearts on Fire more than Eye of the Tiger.
the funniest part about the Rocky/Thunderlips match is the newspaper headline at the end- the total take for charity was SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS? Even when I saw this in the theater I laughed. Who the hell did the books for this match? It looks like it had a sellout crowd AND was broadcast on tv. Someone needs to be arrested for embezzlement.
Not enough credit is given to the makeup team which made a great job making Rocky look very, very badly beaten up after just one round with Clubber Lang in their first fight. Clubber's punches were so powerful, Rocky's left eye got very swollen and his face got three cuts which made him look like a bloody mess.
Some good shit as always man
That scene ALWAYS makes me cry. So devastating to lose Mickey
Missed opportunity to say at 1:25 so the film begins with a recap of the previous fight. Just in case 1 of 3 people actually stumbled into the theater thinking they were going to see Friday the 13th Part 3.
Found your channel a week ago, binge watched a lot of your videos. I love your work man! You're a funny fucker
Can you review Rocky 4, 5, 6, and Creed?

Any fighter who would see clubbers wide ass punches coming in from a mile away
Would you mind reviewing the movie called Duel? It Starred Dennis Weaver and was Steven Spielberg's first movie to direct (although it was a TV Movie), and it came out in 1971. It's an action packed suspenseful movie. It's about a man (Dennis Weaver) is on a buisness trip and gets trailed by a unseen truck driver. Pretty good movie, I would love to see you review it.
Long Live Rocky! Great Review 😊
