Listen mate I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate and admire your work. Your skills and vivid imagination when it comes to kitbashing are truly inspiring. You do justice for all Iron Hands players out there from amazing conversions to great sculpting tutorials and I hope you will continue to do so for as long as you can. Remember It, pal
What an amazing build! I've got a few of the new leviathan box set deads, and I'm wanting to give them arms instead of missle pods and in the search for that, this popped up. I don't think I've got the skill to pull something this elaborate off any time soon, but it's inspiring !
Thanks! Try to keep it simple at first, I wouldn't have been able to make this build a couple of practice years before :D. Switching out arms from the same (Redemptor) kit or similar (Adeptus Titanicus titans, classic dreadnoughts from the spare bits box) will get you a long way without heavy modifications. The goal for this one was to really modify the silhouette to fit in a bit better with the Cataphractii terminators, which is way more than 'just' giving him arms. Good luck, and try to have some fun as well!
Thanks! Yeah I thought about doing that, but with such a long edit it was too much of a hassle :S I tried to do it with the on-screen comments a bit, but I will definitely go back to voice comments in future tutorials though!
Love this! Thank you so much for taking the time to make it. It has inspired me. If I may give unsolicited advice I would suggest multiple songs or a basic narration. Love the content but it is hard to see what you are actually doing and focus while it is so silent.
Good to hear you liked it! I'm still getting the hang of this video and editing stuff, so hopefully it will get better in the future :). I just bought a whole bunch of license free music in order to get a bit more variation, that might help.
I believe we have just made a new pattern of Dreadnought, yeah?. The Catiphratti MK1 pattern dreadnought. But seriously I wanna do one of these for my Dark Angels and call it Dark Age tech.
@@dehoofdwerker very fair... A catiphratti leviathan hybrid maybe... It's a mix of platforms... Shrug, it's still a really great build regardless of it's technical name. Beside you made it so the honour of naming is call name would be to you and you alone.
@@Paradox-Roxy Many thanks! I converted it because I had to match it with the Cataphractii terminators that I was building at the same time. So that's why I took the easy route and just called it a cataphractii dreadnought :)
Hahaha nobody would want to suffer through hearing me mumble and hum for 9 hours! But hey, start a petition! If 100 people want to see it I'll make it happen :P
This is gorgeous. I always loved the look of the Cataphracii Terminators. I’m definitely going to take some inspiration from this for my Deathwing Dreadnought Ancient. I did have one request, do you have a quick and easy list of parts you used for this?
Many thanks! Oh sorry no I don't think so... It's been a while. Most of the parts come directly from the Redemptor dread though, except for the leg plates from the Warlord Titan and the claw also from the Warlord.
I can't understate how GOOD this kitbashing is. I fucking HATE the Redemptor design, probably one of the worst design of the already terribad primaris line, but what you did by turning it into a cataphractii totally redeemed it!
Hehe nice pun :) . I don't think the Redemptor isn't that bad, it just needs a little help to make his profile bigger! The legplates already make such a difference. Thanks!
@@the_gruesom4999 No he's actually Iron Hands. I used the red/orange to set him apart with a squad color. But I agree, it looks a lot like Black Templars, or heresy era Dark Angels.
Excellent work! Really love the final result. Could you explain more of how you made the ammo belt? I'm interesting in making my own for a bunch of Terminators. Was that strip styrene?
many thanks! Yeah, that is a strip of polystyrene cut to the right width. Then with the sharp side of a file I made the section dividers to get the sections. It happens at 27:20. Does that help?
What did you use as the additional armor plates for the legs? I couldn’t figure by any stretch of my imagination 😅 Looks much better than the cookie-cutter redemptor, btw.
Thanks! I'm using sticky putty, or poster buddies they're called in the Netherlands. Another brand is BluTac. I made a video on this here: ua-cam.com/video/DWG9K_xUGoc/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Well the grey plastic is actually the normal shoulder pads that come with the model, rotated. You can see it in the video at 2:44 and later when I cut them down.
The tiny purple ones? They're actually nail beads I got from a local hobby shop :). They were the only thing that had small enough size for miniatures.
Ah! Those are from the chaos jumppack dudes, the raptors they're called I think? I cut of the finger part from the powerfist and replaced them with the clawed fingers from the raptors
Oh I really have no idea, I just measured it on the miniature itself... Can't be bothered with measuring around corners so usually I just cut it roughly a bit too big, then fold it around the miniature, then cut it precisely.
It's the greenstuff roller from greenstuffworld. Amazing little tool, highly recommended! this one: www.greenstuffworld.com/en/roll-maker/69-roll-maker-tube-wire-machine.html?search_query=roll+maker&results=2

I think this is what could truly called "Dreadnought" Damn Good
:D thanks!
That's not a Dreadnought, that's a DreadKNIGHT!!! Boi is HUUUUGE!!!

An expensive kitbash but for a character I'm definitely willing to follow this
yeah if you build an army out of dreads this might get out of hand a bit both money and time wise :)
lol
I may be late to the party, but I *really* like this Dreadnought.
Nobody is ever late to the kitbash party! :D And thanks!
This right here is my FAVORITE Dreaddy kitbash
Thank you!
It Certainly has a more brutal look to it, your version looks alot more menacing.

You just inspired my next project for my Blood Ravens army... what thickness styrene did you use for the shoulder plates and extra plating?
Thanks! Just looked it up, it's 1mm thickness from Evergreen.
Awesome job!!!
I’m curious where you got that tilting shield from however, seems the perfect size for dreadnaughts!
Thank you! The tilt shield is from the Warlord Titan, and as you said it's a perfect fit :)
So cool! Silly question but - what are you using to pose the limbs? Looks like some sort of putty or something?

The original ones you get with the kit, rotated. And then some plasticard. You can see in the video how I made them.
