Hi Matt, At the young age of 73 😵💫I have decided that I wanted to learn to play the bodhran (I've already discovered that I have no aptitude or musical ability to learn guitar or anything else along those lines). I have just dropped on your videos, and have to say that I found them excellent - just at the right level for me and, so much so, that it has inspired me to keep at it, slowly and steadily, and perhaps I might just get reasonably proficient in playing the drum in a few months (at my age, I might not have a few years 🤔🥴) Anyway, thank you and keep them coming, please.
I'm so happy to hear they're helping you! And I think it's a great instrument to start at any age (I'm a little biased, I play a bunch of instruments, but bodhran has always been my favorite). Slow and steady is the way to go.
Really helpful thanks! What are the reel and jig you play as examples? I quite like them and don't recognize them! I've been really enjoying this whole series of videos, keep up the great work!
thanks for the practice advise, it’s so very true. Looks like I’ll be taking a break or two!
