Honor damage change for melee is nice but melee itself needs changes. If GGG wants melee being viable or for warriors to be able to use normal attacks then it shouldn't lock you in place and the attacks should at least displace enemies so that you aren't as helpless as a ranged class. Backing up and swinging should be viable to keep half of the surrounding enemies at bay. The honor changes are nice for melee character, but I'm not sure if it's enough. The way I'd attempt to mitigate honor loss for close combat oriented classes would be by introducing some kind of honor recoup system. For example: You get hit by a monster and it deals some honor damage to you, and puts a "honor recoup" buff on you. If you then kill that monster with an attack (not including spells) within the duration of that buff you get 50% of the lost honor back.

After i finish the third act, i will be finally playing through the first game, which i have never done before. can't wait.
I believe it would be better to keep charms tied to belts rather than having them automatically added through a quest. The goal should be to balance the more powerful unique belts, which lack charm slots, with those that do have them, allowing for greater player choice and more meaningful decisions. By requiring players to choose between equipping a powerful unique charm or a powerful unique belt, the game promotes strategic decision-making and enhances player agency.
I agree with your base point but I would also want my headhunter to have 3 charm slots. Doesn't make sense for build defining chase items to not be incredibly powerful. Your suggestion feels like arbitrarily limiting player power. If that item fundamentally breaks the game (news flash headhunter kinda does that) then what does taking the 2 charm slots away do other than making a broken item... still broken but feel less good to use? I know headhunter currently has 1 charm slot but I honestly believe it should have 3 baseline, and high tier belts should have it as an implicit, or as a d2like feature where better belts just have more slots.
@@ryancorrell5291 Who says there is not game breaking Charms out, unique ones perhaps, or will be. Then you have more player agency by choosing whether to go for more charms or unique belts. anyone get the teleport silk shroud unique from the merchant in trials yet? changes dodge to a teleport...there is also an item call quill rain or something that makes arrows automatic fire
Siphoning flask charges, siphoning mana, both are stupid. Doesn’t matter if you have to go melee range to elites with siphon mana… Also, life regen + energy shield or magma shield is terrible for low level play lol
Farthest I've gotten is act 1 second difficulty, so I probably didn't notice a few of these issues. Overall stoked on the changes. I'll actually do some trials, really wasn't a fan of the honor system on my warrior. Flask leach was insane on bosses, glsd they nerfed thst.
Beat 3rd trial right before nerf, on warrior. Noice. Got a super luckey run. Almost lost it to third boss. Hard to hit with hammer. But fortunately landed 1 hit and it one shotted him
They need to fix ranger toxic growth and escape shot. How am I taking ground damage when I'm jumping in the air?! Those skills are so slow, at least treat it as a roll or blink or add a blinding cloud.
Hopefully GGG can retain that enjoyable early difficulty, and continue it into end-game. For more methodical combat, instead of zooming like most other ARPGs.
I’m probably not going to play again until the patches drop. I’m currently stuck on a3. I’m a noob and don’t really understand how to make a good skills tree. Will attempt a respec when it is cheaper
they need to remove the honor system entirely. getting hit is literally apart of the game and NOT getting hit only caters to a small sub section of players. sanctum literally was a 50/50 split on the community and dont even get me started about the boss fights.
But that’s the point of the sanctum mechanic it’s based on. The impact can be mitigated by farming and equipping the relics with honor pool and resist.
@@charlesxchaves You already lose the attempt if you die. Which is more than enough of a build check. If this was (still) *just* a league mechanic then it would be annoying, but could just be skipped. However, these are things that *every build* is supposed to be able to accomplish, and the current set up heavily punishes armor/melee builds and even with the recent changes I don't think it will ever feel "good" to do.
Well, I left after 29 hours and I'll never touch that garbage game again. I think you're in an echo chamber and all your friends will slowly fizzle out and you'll all pretend like the game didn't suck.

i'm enjoying the game play but my pc and eyes aren't. You've got the OG graphics toggle on d2r right? When i get into a fight with 3+ enemies and cast 3+ skills the game drops graphics like i toggled them in d2r. it doesn't break the game or cause massive lag which makes me super stoked i can play the game! Crazy seeing how the game itself dumbs down the graphics seemlessly but it does make it hard to play a game where you need to dodge mechanics that become super blended into the background. Glad i waited a week + before grinding gear since these guys are pumping out updates this fast.
Be honest! It's a lot of big NERFS - freeze and shock are getting hammered again! What is the point of playing an ICE-MAGE if you can't chain-freeze stuff? :(
PoE 2 tried to do the Grim Dawn thing except they forgot to put chests that drop loot that people actually give a damn about. Smh fam. Surely someone at GGG has played Grim Dawn before. We've been running around huge F U maze maps with no movement skills searching for chests for years now over on Grim Dawn, so that isn't the problem, the problem is no reason to do explore the damn map in PoE 2.

On two bosses in a row I lost loot. One I killed the boss as it killed me so we both died. I lost that loot. Then the next boss I killed with a friend and died near end of fight and he finished it but then a mass of adds killed him after (that Rath fight in act 2 on the cliff) so he couldn't revive me. Lost that loot as well. #feelsbad!
@@Chris-zg7tythat’s the one place I lost loot too after the boss lmao
I do love this game. I don't think they really needed to change much, it is cool that they are listening to all the feedback and are trying to find a middle ground to help people that are having troubles. After i finish the third act, i will be finally playing through the first game, which i have never done before. can't wait.
hee man im watching since the original d2 days and watched all the way through d2r. that said i love the poe 2 content. keep it up
i hope they add loot filter for console
Has this been implemented yet ? From what I read sounds like it is an upcoming patch and not out yet ?
I understand your point, you want chase items to feel powerful. I am just adding a counter point is all. I am curious to see how they handle it.
anyone get the teleport silk shroud unique from the merchant in trials yet? changes dodge to a teleport...there is also an item call quill rain or something that makes arrows automatic fire
when is the patch? before or after holiday? :O
Why did they not look at mana burn? That mod is crazy op.
Siphoning flask charges, siphoning mana, both are stupid. Doesn’t matter if you have to go melee range to elites with siphon mana…
Also, life regen + energy shield or magma shield is terrible for low level play lol
Because you can work around it by just being close to the monster, only the donut itself drains mana.
8:26 praise the sun!
Volatile plants and volatile crystals are not the same thing I believe ..
Can confirm Rattle was impossible with low dps. Volcanos literally everywhere, even stacked ontop of each other.
The honour change was nice felt like it drained way to fast
I finally did my 3rd ascendancy even over leveled I died of cringe.
*higher voice* WHATS up UA-cam, MrLlamaSC here
The Llama strikes again! 🦙
Hopefully GGG can retain that enjoyable early difficulty, and continue it into end-game. For more methodical combat, instead of zooming like most other ARPGs.
The first act is so unbearable, I can't even get myself to play any further right now.
Not because it's hard. Because it's such a slog.
x1.7 video speed = perfect speed
isnt everyone just gonna use the archers on minions now? thats what i plan on doing
The maps seem to be fine for group play. Since my build does better solo while my friends have synergy.
So I was super mad guy at this game but it seems they're listening so it's definitely keeping me interested. Good job GGG!
There are still a LOT of things they havent fixed. Specially when it comes to individual skills and ascendancies
We're less than two weeks into EA, slow your roll Dearest.
Most of my deaths on rare maps are because of over tune environmental dmg despite the fact I have 35 Chaos res it's about time.
If they did, it would be a cake walk otherwise
The LEVERS 😢
The honor trials need to go.
the whole game needs to go.
@@MadmanThreeTwoTwo good news, you don't have to play it. Any more braindead takes?
@@arschmitohren90 u already brainded by playing slop game like PoE 2
@MadmanThreeTwoTwo again, don't play it. Did your mum drink during pregnancy or how'd you turn out so brainrot? lol
Still feel like they should either remove Honor or should make it so that it is tied to *only* rewards.
It is called a trial for a reason. Otherwise it would be a walk in the park, and monotone like the first game
@@charlesxchaves You already lose the attempt if you die. Which is more than enough of a build check. If this was (still) *just* a league mechanic then it would be annoying, but could just be skipped. However, these are things that *every build* is supposed to be able to accomplish, and the current set up heavily punishes armor/melee builds and even with the recent changes I don't think it will ever feel "good" to do.
this game has insane player retention lol
not sure if its player retention or jsut new people coming and old people leaving.
This game not even ten days old, what player retention? In three months from now we will talk about player retention.
Copium.
@@cgermanten days is longer than most arpg league/season lives
Well, I left after 29 hours and I'll never touch that garbage game again. I think you're in an echo chamber and all your friends will slowly fizzle out and you'll all pretend like the game didn't suck.
draconian mods in this games chat
I don't want map size reduced.
CoF sorc was admittedly broken but the nerf was too hard. Half the nerf wouldve been enough.
Doesnt bother me, tons of other builds that melt and far surpassed my CoF sorc on them already.
Glad they recognize the need for cheaper respec points. Inb4 "what do you mean you dont have 1 million gold at lvl 60 due to selling every drop for gold".
I agree the charm slots should be either a boss drop like the other permanent upgrades throughout the campaign or it could be an implicit that can roll on a belt but it doesn't take up 1 from the 6 affix slots.
Great idea about charms.
12:37 noooo my ice monk lol.
It won’t be that bad. By the time diminishing returns catch up with the live enemies, they will already be mostly dead from attack speed and crit
They are updating faster than I’m able to sit down and play 😂
updating with power of AI
Plz PLZ try using snipe for a while ( on the ranger), and you'll see that it's bugged and often fires prematurely... It's very frustrating. I've posted a bug report, but if you mention it an a subsequent video, I'm sure they'll address it sooner! 🙏🙏🙏 I've built a snipe focused ranger, she does really well, but when I've got swarms running at me and my snipe ability dry fires 4 times in a row, it's not so fun...
Thanks for being around for trying this game llama.. I really hope they speed down this game.. It feels like I'm playing POE1, and I don't like that at all.
Watching all these well thought out suggestions on how to balance maps while I'm uninstalling because I can't clear the act 1 boss lol. This game ain't for me I guess
i'm enjoying the game play but my pc and eyes aren't.
Sounds like you have an upscaling feature turned on in your settings
Disable upscaling
That’s Dynamic Resolution at work. If you find it overly aggressive, lower the target framerate value.
It definitely is something on your graphics config, lower them a little
Be honest! It's a lot of big NERFS - freeze and shock are getting hammered again! What is the point of playing an ICE-MAGE if you can't chain-freeze stuff? :(
you're not supposed to chain freeze bosses or endgame rares. You still do a ton of damage during the period of one freeze.
@@wanderer5766 u aren't suppose to freeze enemies with frost builds GGG.
This is a step in the right direction but there are still way to many mobs that explode on dead.
Yeah I doubt the change will help, crystal one
cold sorc feels like dog since launch for me
7:24 very cool...joint joy hehehe!
yea, the charm slot system is really bad :/
=O WHEN!
I had so much more fun playing Grim Dawn compared to PoE 2 that I refuse to even compare the two games.
@@tomwalker8944 Grim Dawn and Titan Quest are so much more interesting, and have difficulty without making bullet sponges and roll sims.
Can't wait until GD's next expansion and TQ2.
@@SvanMagic I mean the end game of Grim Dawn is legit hard. Way harder than anything I saw in PoE 2. But it's also fast.
Let them cook!
A good company a lot of blizzard customers/streammers are seeing the same =)
They had to. No one could play HCSSF LUL
Llama do you think poe2 will finally replace D2? I think it has for me.
Nah I went right back to D2 lol. Enjoyed PoE 2 less than PoE 1. PoE 2 is just slow. D2 ain't slow lol.
@tomwalker8944 nice. To each their own. That's why we got options.
PoE2 is so sluggish, as a roll sim and bullet sponge enemies.
It's not even close to D2 and how fun it is to play through the same campaign I've played repeatedly.
I really like the idea of the charm slot not being associated with gear as it is basically required, adding in quests to unlock the slots is great. However you really need that first slot earlier than the end of normal, that A2 end boss is devastating without lightning res.
It really does feel like the slot should be available earlier on in the game.
