To me 96 is one of his best years with 83 ( alchemy). That TR solo is just magnificient of virtuosity and improvisation. I saw him in concert a few times later but not with that kind of energy and smotherness in his touch. Thanks for sharing this great record
Great show; thanks for posting. I always loved the combination of “Junkie Doll” and “Pyroman” back to back. Both are very underrated songs that deserve more exposure.
Hi, Pyroman was an unreleased track of the Sailing to Philadelphia-period. Mark played that song only as a live-version. I don´t know any studio-version of Pyroman.
Thanks for uploading. This is bad ass. The best-sounding concert by Mark Knopfler during his Golden Heart-Tour in 1996. OK, it is my personal opinion only, but just listen to Telegraph Road from this concert. That is absolutely amazing, best performance ever of that epic track. Forget A night in London, this is the real deal.

@Ali Golden Heart Tour is the first solo Tour and the new Great Band the 1996, and at this Year Mark's says Dire Straits is to big the Tours are to long ("ON EVERY STREET TOUR, the last Dire Straits Tour, goes over 2 Years all in all, and at his last Solo Tour, I see him in Stuttgart 2.7.2019 he say, I'm tired but, he will never goes on Tour, he Will make CD new songs but touring are not, BUT, after 10 Gigs he say, HE IS TIRED, but I the PUBLIKUM WANTS HIM, SO WANT CAN I DO, I play FOR THE PUBLIKUM!! "so I hope he comes one again at Tour at 2021 or 2022 but he is 70 Years old, so we can hope, but I think he goes on tour so long he hold his 🎸 in his hand, and the last tour, 2019 he plays so good we every times and a few song better as before!

Yes, it was the first tour after Dire straits. It started in April and went to hamburg in june
2001 and every tour ever since.
