I’m a fan of the different species and techniques over the world often finding myself utilising similar methods inspired by a totally different fish in other countries. bfs and ultra light has its place with micro lures and hook’s! the habits associated with even conventional light tackle have to go! That includes high sticking a rod to lift a fish! If you use small enough hook’s and catch big enough fish you loose the habit of lifting em anyway! Tight lines!
Not surprised it snapped, its an ultralight tip...I would only boat flip absolute dinks and not strike that hard either on a rod like that. Lucky its got 2 tips. I think its a great rod. Are you in the BFS Facebook group?
No I am technologically challenged. :) But I hope to improve soon as my clock is ticking. However I am not comedically challenged. I reached out to mavlos and they would not even send me new tip. You need to try Handing Magic L ultralight 6"0" it is a great rod for money. can't throw quite as light as delicacy but way better built and super strong. Tell them Yankeelipper sent you and you will get free lures.
I don;t think the Delicacy is aimed at bass si much as pan and other tiny fish. they sure don;t make them like they used to , I still have my rods from when I was like 9 years old.
I agree, although i have landed bass to 5 lbs with it. That little white tip was so nice to fish. I reached out to company and they would not send me new tip so i returned to amazon and got money back. now all I buy is Handing rods. They are far superior and better priced. If you decide to buy a Handing use my link and tell them Yankeelipper sent you and they send free gift.
@@yankeelipperfishing imo your just using the rod not as intended, imo you would be better suited w a mavlos thorn air. the each rod has limitations your going beyond the ul capabilities trying to high stick em then adding your hand on the rod doubling the pressure on certain sections of the rod. only hold it from the handle or get a glass rod if your going to abuse it that way. net if using ul or drag them on shore.
@@Cru_Jones33 I realize that it is ultralight. The fact that it broke exactly where the white tip is attached is why i think it was defective. Most of the rods I have broken either break right away or I did something dumb. It broke on less then 1lb bass. Mavlos did credit me for rod but I wanted a replacement white tip section. This one broke less then a week in. No rod company is perfect including Mavlos. I am trying to work on my landing methods. NO MORE HIGH_STICKING! Tight lines my Friend. It won't be the first or the last rod I will break.😂
@@Cru_Jones33 You are correct I am guilty of some high sticking from time to time. But this rod broke wayyy to easy and right where the white tip meets black blank.
@@yankeelipperfishing We will just have to disagree, imo your style is kin to high sticking. Look at the trout you brought in over powering from high sticking so it glides over the surface. for that style you cant use a 40t or 30t blank or will keep doing the same break, so you will get a less sensitive rod or need to switch to glass rods that will noodle. not what you want to hear but what you likely need to hear in terms of rod management. keep on fishing

i agree . i come from tournament bass fishing and old habits are hard to break. this mavlos rod is great for the money.
Get a net to Land the fish, Theo this not gonna Happen again
Nets are for sissies bro. And for people that like snapping mavlos sissy sticks. LOL :)
With a rod like this you always have the risk breaking it when boatlifting it. Pretty delicate indeed
yep, asked mavlos to send me new tip and got crickets. typical CDM customer service.
