Very true, its the same with my family, i was always a Jack Charlton man from the age of 8..
Our eldest brother cannot be wrong he's a very arrogant and bitter. Its a terrible shame he's like that but thats life.

J-WIl is a stone cold legend. J-Mol is good when he isn't fangirling Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods

Not sure we need to know this! Many families have issues,( and i come from a large family& not everyone gets along!)so some things need to remain in house!..Not that it's intentional, but a book like this can end up besmirching their legacy!

I had a girlfriend who lived on the next street to Bobby Charlton in Lymm. He owned a modern four-bedroomed detached house on a residential street. Compared to the mansions that modern footballers own it was nothing special. I would not have said that he was particularly wealthy. If he was playing today he would be a very rich man.

Great interview, but I think JW doesn't quite get Matt Busby. ManUtd faced the same problem of too many matches as Leeds did in the sixties because they were systematically successful. Wilf McGuinness was employed as a coach by Busby before he was used by Ramsey. There was an interesting FA tactics report from the mid-sixties on Busby's rather interesting 4-1-2-3 formation. Man Utd's real problem by the late sixties was probably under-investment in players throughout the decade.

More of this please OTB. And way way less of Mick McCarthy moaning about his inner torment while watching the World Cup. Thanks.

I think the lesson here.....and it's a common one.....is that family troubles are usually brought about when an uppity chick gets into the head of a man.
Jack was correctly loyal to his family. Bobby was swayed by his need to please a woman who wanted him for herself. His ensuing isolation from his family is not surprising.
Think Meghan Markle and Harry Windsor.
