I don't know why everyone keeps calling clean vocals "commercialized" Corey has done that in every album. Why people can't get over it that really blows my mind.. Wait and Bleed, Spit it Out, Duality, Left Behind, Dead Memories, Devil In I, Killpop, AOV, Before I Forget and many more.. ugh..

He just does more of it since vol.3 but I'm glad he does he has an amazing vocal range. Beside they're still pretty heavy fuck the haters.
He might be doing it more or less, I don't care about that but one thing I am sure, he doesn't do it to commercialize the songs.
@@Koray.K I don't think so either. Except maybe in unsainted I feel like they definitely wanted radio play and broad appeal on that one. Other than that the other songs with clean vocals fit perfectly.
That is ridiculous. I've wondered that same too... Die hard fans might not be die hard fans anymore. It's true that Corey has had clean vocals on every Knot album. Wanyk is excellent as an album, one of the best from Knot. Almost like a mix of their every album this far.

Melody has always been in Slipknot. I've been a Slipknot fan since 1999 dude. Slipknot has had melody and harmony since the beginning. It didn't come through until 2004. I think what you mean is that Slipknot is the band that bridges extreme and mainstream. They are attractive because they're extreme artists, but they're extremely talented freaks. I love them so much.

They're just butthurt haters who want an Iowa clone. And it's not commercial it's diversity and no one mixes melody and heavy as well as slipknot!
Yeah and those so-called hardcore Slipknot fans don't realize Corey Taylor has had songs with clean vocals on every album. I mean there may be more of them here but it's not to be commercial. He is showcasing his feelings perfectly with a kick-ass set of choruses that show off his incredible voice.

Dafrenchdude IMO. This was their best body of work. Perfect song writing, great mix of melody and metal, and heart, and darkness and creativity. But if of this is just my opinion

Wouldn't call the melodic parts commercial they're just really clean and polished. I love it tho they mix melody and heavy together as well as anyone this song is amazing.

I listened to the new album before checking out reaction vids and i tell ya, i was NOT disappointed! Well worth waiting a few years for!
With the 1st album and even in IOWA, they had clean chorus', but the clean vocals were less polished, and I think that gave it a nasty, thrown-together sound, which gave it so much charm, and exemplified the kind of music they were making, but now it sounds really polished and clean clean, not nasty clean. That might make it sound "pandery"
Tbh a lot of metal bands have clean vocals similar to this, especially in the nu-metal and metalcore scenes.

I haven’t read every last comment so this may have been said, but Corey and the boys in Slipknot are masters at writing a hook. I’ve said it for years, but Corey could write songs for pop stars in his sleep and this is a prime example of this talent. He can take a brutal backing track like this, put in his hook, and it’s catchy af from jump.

I just saw korn live yesterday and it was amazing!!!! But crowds are just so dead today
This is an epic album! I was laughing my socks off when Clown said in a interview that Knot has already 15 songs ready, which didn't come on this album and if those are anything like these songs, next album will be a god damn killer too.
They have 11 tracks they recorded during All Hope is Gone which weren't released. Clown said it's getting released during the tour cycle. It's supposed to bridge the creative gap between AHIG and WANYK.
@@jeffreysmith1314 No man, those 15 are off from the wanyk. Those 11 you've speaking are songs truly recorded at the same time as AHIG was, but they haven't yet to release it, 'cause it's way more different than what Slipknot usually sounds. Two different things we are speaking about right now.

I thought the same when i heard the album. This album is much more ‘’commercialized’’ than the others. That’s probably why the album became such a hit. They reach out to more listeners that way.

It's more Hard Rock Chorus but generally Hard Rock is more commercial.
You keep saying "commercialized," I don't think that's the right word. They HAVE commercialized shit, don't get me wrong. They had a couple singles that were edited pretty significantly for radio/video, which I felt and still do feel is super lame, especially since they pretty much made a name for themselves shitting all over that kind of thing. That was kind of an uncool moment for them in my opinion but just in terms of having a melodic or, dare I say, a catchy chorus, you'll find that on any of their albums. It's not a new thing, just maybe it's a bit more frequent. Besides, there's only so much you can do with screamy, grindy music before you want to do something different. You can pick out other songs that could have been singles that weren't. Child of Burning Time probably could have been a big commerical hit but that just wasn't what they did with it. It's not a matter of, in my opinion, anyway, saying "hey, we gotta write a radio song," but just finding which one works best as a single, if that makes any sense.

no way they are going to stay that way for so long. Their songs are basically the representative of their feelings. Their first two albums are totally the symbolic of their anger and madness, which is mostly the history of the dark life corey taylor used to have. Nowadays their mental health are so much better than their teenage days and as a TRUE FAN you must embrace that facts. I believed that if there is another album with the mood of IOWA, corey taylor would have been probably ended his life right after that.
FEL- O you aren’t a true fan of slipknot if you think the new album sucks.
