Try a simple "flat" wing(even flat it's still technically an airfoil). Just a flat board for wings, stabilizers and rudders. In RC airplane they got things called them foamies. They fly perfectly with no classic airfoil. Only dihedral angle(like v of a boat edge) and swept back angle really makes a difference in response and stability. The lifting of this hydrofoil wing is all in the angle of attack which you control with your leg and stance. All those complex curved surfaces affect "efficiency" and "drag" but with slow velocity it's not a big factor.
What you say is true however an aerofoil does 2 things. An aerofoil increases the range of angles and speeds for which the wing will not stall. Aerofoils also decrease drag ratios for wings, especially parasitic drag. ...Just be sure that the back of the foil is fairly sharp tapering. Cheers

Would this foil also work when you try to pump it, not being pulled by the boat. Or would it work when mount it to my surfboard with the mast and sail?

True definition of innovation! Well done.
Thanks bud, sorry the video quality’s not great

hey where do you find this aluminum welder ?

Probably wouldn’t work super great pumping it. It I think it would work with a mast and sail
@@TheSurfer446 thanks
hi, excelent job..... Jared did you test with wingfoil?
I’m not sure what you mean... I have an actual foil and this homemade one is definitely not as good but it does work.

Nice! video bro.
Successful attempt!
Did you build one as well??? I’d love to see it!
Genius!
Thanks! Hopefully it helps out some DIYers
It would be better if you actually showed the wing in the picture instead of your waist and the floor.
Your right! My camera skills suck!
@@TheSurfer446 The Camera point to where YOU point it. Alternatively you could just put the piece you want to show within the range of the lens...
