so i literally just got an 06 mk 5 warlock for 75$ off marketplace august 17th. I couldnt pass up the deal, and to my surprise it is an absolute shredder. needed new strings, had original and were rusty, all the intonation was untouched by the one owner and spot on, fretboard needed cleaning and oil. the pickups are very very good, also surprising. great sustain, they are a ply body but done very well. i have a jackson js32 and also an ibanez rg550, for this thing being a hard bridge it is mind blowing good for metal. this was a real come up score i got. perfect metal head playable wall art that looks badass but it is a hard body shape for people to swallow.
BC Rich guitars reportedly were using agathis wood for the bodies, at least during the 2000s. It could have been used for longer than that. Agathis is infamous for being an undesirable wood to make guitars with, according to many tonewood arguments. The Bronze Series, at least around the 2000s, were notorious for having poor QC. Bad electronics, poor construction, etc. It's such a shame because BC Rich makes really good guitars. Thankfully, BC Rich is making guitars that are much better than the Bronze Series, but the management they're under right now has complications of their own.
That’s putting it mildly dude lol. They’ve been out of stock of everything pretty much for the last 3 years. It’s great to see that they want to be put on the map, as they deserve it, they’re a legendary brand. But they are horribly back in the supply chain.
@@GeoVTuber the bc rich extreme and prophecy lines offer Maple through construction Ebony fretboard solid mahogany body. Those are tone woods. Those are the best words that you could ever get for any guitar in the early 80s and 90s BC Rich had an array of inexpensive guitars made out of cheap wood and hardware nowadays they only make expensive guitars and they did away with bronze and platinum guitars.
My wrap around bridge for a 2000-2001 bronze series made in Indonesia needs replacing, it always slants. What's a good replacement for it, or what size replacement bridge should I order? Thanks.
Okay.So I own 2 BC rich guitars.I own this model and one of their cheaper models that is 275.00. I absolutely prefer the $275 guitar. And it has nothing to do with the poor quality of the bronze series. It has to do with how the bronze series sounds. If you have no pedal and you are just plugging this in to an amplifier, it is so freaking squeaky clean. You cannot even enjoy rocking out with this guitar. It is a freaking menace. And let's not even get into how you string this guitar. If you are not familiar with how to string this guitar, you will literally have the biggest pain in your rectum ever.
Nice in-depth vid. I’ve been hunting for a Warlock, Warbeast, or Beast for awhile now. I didn’t even know Bronze series were ever made in Korea, thought the were a Chinese thing only. What effect would you say that has on the build? You either love the BC Rich aesthetic or you hate it. Most will say looks are a “gimmick”, but in Metal, “gimmicks” have always worked.
Korean guitars of this era are well known for high quality craftsmanship and materials. I haven't tried a chinese model from this era, but this one was well made for sure!
I didn't see this yet. Watching as I watch. Ive never owned any BC rich under an N.J. series. I love them. Jackson (cheap) and Dean (medium) guitars are my thing. I own several expensive BC Rich guitars. And they are my favorite.
how can i learn to do my own guitar repairs? just someone thats broke and looking to be self sufficient with this kinda stuff. I figure youtube and learning on cheap guitars through trial and error works, but maybe theres a way without ruining guitars?
If you want a bit more professional education, there are repair courses usually offered by luthiers. Just make sure you do a bit of research on who is teaching the courses and make sure they know what they are doing. I learned many years ago from Hamm-tone school of luthiery in Winnipeg. It was excellent. These courses are usually offered in most cities by luthiers.
Literally bought one for 150 and the wiring is Destroyed. Pretty upset I diddnt research it first else I would NOT have bought it. I love my guitar but it made me Very sad today. And after I named her Lucy too 😭
wiring issues on guitars are relatively easy to fix, but if you don't want to do it personally you can bring them into a guitar shop to be rewired properly for a usually decent price.
I think I am in the minority when it comes to the widow headstock.. not a fan. I love the fat pointy late 80s headstock, especially when it's reversed I often see these guitars in painting instruction videos for crackle finishes and such.
I think the Widow headstock looks good on the Widow and Warbeast/Beast models. I prefer the more traditional 80s headstocks on a Warlock and every other shape. Especially if its reversed
they aren't complete crap, unless someone paid too much. great platform for learning how to do set ups, mods, etc. I sometimes see them for as low as 100 - 150 in online used. I am trying to find one or two warlocks and i'd love to find an ironbird to practice some finishing ideas on.
@ sry but they are absolutely sht. I had one got rid of it when I could afford the good series. I’m a BC Rich fan for I have the high end models and they play way nicer.
I love that this guitar had a sticker from a band that only was around for about 2 years in the 80's.

@@boechlerguitarsandrepairSick 🤘are you planning on fixing the bridge? Since these are known to start leaning forward. Also perhaps some pickups? 😁

I always thought that goofy looking guitars like that were for little kids….. i still think that
First idiot comment the day.
Why would you waste your time on a crappy bronze edition warlock it’s complete waste of time, man
