- “During the Randolph Fire Departments first responders night, a call came in about a structure fire on County Road DG south of Randolph. First responders arrived on the scene to find a barn fully engulfed with the structure completely down. A box call was issued for mutual assistance from area agencies as the fire had spread to a nearby grassy area. The blaze covered nearly 2 acres of land before being brought under control. Assisting the Randolph Fire Department on scene were fire departments from Fox Lake, Cambria, Friesland, Fall River, Columbus, Doylestown, Beaver Dam, Horicon, CLR with their rehab trailer, and the Rio EMS. No cause for the incident has been reported at this time.” ~Daily Dodge

Some must come from small towns never heard off. Doylestown, Rio, Friesland. Lived in Wisconsin for 48 years never heard of them. They had the smallest town 43 people that there aid was going from $600 to 30K in the paper.

At the first part it looks like they were at some kind event then git all the tankers you can. How far did they have to go to refill the tanks?
Yes, they were at a first responder event when the call came in. I believe they traveled 5-10 mins for water.
Wonder why the Fall River T105 lightbar on top inst working is it nomral for tanker 125 to be leaking water?
What are the sirens and horns intented for? To warn the corn they’re coming thru?

I don't know why YT sent me here, I know nothing about this sort of thing. We don't have these where I live, just huge 18 wheeler tankers.
Why are they using all these tiny tankers instead of one big one?
Where do you live? We generally have smaller ones because they fit better in tight narrow driveways. It is also easier to make turns and other maneuvers in a smaller one than a big one. There are a lot of farms and houses with long driveways around my area so just makes life a bit easier.

Sad to say but I have never in 40 years seen a Barb survive a Fire....
A couple of years ago I responded to a mutual aid barn fire with my Assistant Chief in one of our tankers. The initial responding department was able to save the attached milking parlor by cutting away a section of the little "hallway" area that attached the parlor and barn and using a backhoe that was on site to crush and remove it, creating a firebreak between the structures. That combined with a couple of aerial masterstreams and multiple large and small diameter hoselines held the fire to the main building which was unfortunately already a total loss
