I was very sad and angry. I remember reading around May of 2001 that his cancer had metastasized, and I knew it was over. The day he died, I took a fresh pack of cigarettes, scrunched them up and threw them away. I haven't smoked a cigarette since Nov. 29, 2001. I miss you, George. I listen to your solo stuff these days more than I do the others. Hare Krshna.
I was heartbroken when I saw it in the paper that George had died. His death was mentioned on the December 1st newspaper. I bought every single local newspaper that mentioned his death back in 2001.

Paul has written many beautiful songs with Lennon, but believe he and George would have also, had the Lord granted George more life. "Something" / "Here Comes The Sun"/ It's All Too Much"..were some of the most memorable songs penned by George, of course there were many. many more, included my favorite of his "While My Guitar Gently Sleeps", looking forward to seeing him in the after life.

I'm aware of that. His slide came out in his solo years. What I meant by Beatle harmonies = was that he always sang the vocal harmonies in those early live shows. He used that same great ear of his to play guitar harmony overdubs on his slide.

My older Brother Mark bought every Beatle 45rpm and Album since. I would sit on my bed a listen over and over. George became my favorite after he released his epic album " ALL THINGS MUST PASS" I couldn't stop listening. When I got my car, My Buddy Sal put in an 8-track tape player. I bought a copy of "All Things Must Pass" for my Car! Then 1971 Comes and George performs at his "CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH". I bought the Triple album 💖
My brother Tom, and I loved George and his music. He was our favorite Beatle. My brother went to be with the Lord in 1998. So glad He finally got to meet George! One day I will see them both! A lovely thought for sure. ✝️❤️
Tom Petty told a funny story. He and George used to send faxes to each other back in the day. After Olivia helped fend off that attacker, Tom (who lived in LA) sent George a fax that said, "Glad you're OK. Good thing you married a Mexican."
Hard to believe it’s been 20+ years since he passed. And only 58 years old……I’m 70 so 58 seems on the young side. He was not only a Beatle but I enjoyed his time with The Traveling Wilburys too. He’s is certainly missed.

I was listening to so attentively for some reason and something clicked in me and I immediately had hope that this shit would pass. And it was refreshing, just what I needed. then I read all the interviews and biographies of George and his friends. He inspires and his music me to this day😇

That brought a tear to my eye. On the day of Georges passing, i was in my garage sweeping the floor after having a tidy up and going through a heap of records and other stuff. I heard the news on the radio. It wasn't a total surprise as he was very unwell but really saddening nevertheless . Two of The Beatles gone... I shed a few tears as i worked. When i swept everything into a pile i noticed what looked some paper stamps in the pile. I picked them up and they were two Beatle stamps (big in the 60's) that had fallen out of my Magical Mystery Tour double EP. It was one of George and one of John stuck together. And i thought well maybe John and George are together somewhere like these two stamps were.
I remember watching an interview with ringo, when george was attacked and in hospital ringo said he went to see him, ringo said he had to get back to usa re his daughter, dear george said to ringo would you like me to come with you, ringo cried so touched by george recovering from the attack yet would go with ringo.❤

My father died of lung cancer on Nov 29 2021. .20 years after George died. But my father was 76...I wish my dad had quit smoking earlier than he did but unfortunately it is hard to quit
We all go through stages in our lives where life and death don't often cross our minds for years and then one day we are faced with the mortality of someone else or ourselves and then it's ALL we can think about. So many people have passed away that meant a lot to me and now there isn't a day that goes by that in some former way, death crosses my mind unlike all the decades I spent never thinking about it. What I have learned is that death is a part of life. Those are easy words to say and write, but when you take your eyes off the screen and your fingers off the keyboard and you just sit in silence and think about what it all means, it is one sobering and poignant feeling you will get deep inside where your emotions live. We will all experience this at some point and none of us will escape its affects on our soul.
We are all like the Androids in Blade Runner, searching for our maker and not knowing our expiration date. RIP George, you left us some beautiful music.
Attended his memorial service at Griffith Park in Hollywood california 800 people showed up when they played my sweet lord everyone cried and capital records was draped in black, gqve out books with john and george on cover
George certainly loved life and lived the best he knew how. He died a couple of months after 9/11. Being part of a Rock 🪨 Band at 14 and traveling to Germany with his new found friends. The Beatles accepted him because at that age he could play guitar 🎸. He was the youngest of the Beatles and in Hamburg when officials found out he wasn’t of working age. He was deported back to England the rest of the guys took off soon after. The Beatles were back together again and playing back in clubs. He was their lead guitarist and the Beatles wouldn’t have been complete if George hadn’t been part of the group. It’s great seeing the picture before he died he had gotten together with Paul and Ringo. George Harrison also wrote and recorded great songs.

My dad died of emphysema on 8/31/1992, age 65. Cigarettes held him prisoner for 40 years. He did quit in 1987 but the damage was done.
Went to Strawberry Fields for George. Big shock when he died.
We all go through stages in our lives where life and death don't often cross our minds for years and then one day we are faced with the mortality of someone else or ourselves and then it's ALL we can think about. So many people have passed away that meant a lot to me and now there isn't a day that goes by that in some former way, death crosses my mind unlike all the decades I spent never thinking about it. What I have learned is that death is a part of life. Those are easy words to say and write, but when you take your eyes off the screen and your fingers off the keyboard and you just sit in silence and think about what it all means, it is one sobering and poignant feeling you will get deep inside where your emotions live. We will all experience this at some point and none of us will escape its affects on our soul.
We love you George. Live on for ever

George certainly loved life and lived the best he knew how. He died a couple of months after 9/11. Being part of a Rock 🪨 Band at 14 and traveling to Germany with his new found friends. The Beatles accepted him because at that age he could play guitar 🎸. He was the youngest of the Beatles and in Hamburg when officials found out he wasn’t of working age. He was deported back to England the rest of the guys took off soon after. The Beatles were back together again and playing back in clubs. He was their lead guitarist and the Beatles wouldn’t have been complete if George hadn’t been part of the group. It’s great seeing the picture before he died he had gotten together with Paul and Ringo. George Harrison also wrote and recorded great songs.
Sounds like the man was living the high life right to the end, as well he deserved.

Last photo of the Threetles was at Ringo’s 60th birthday party. George was jokingly trying to get recovering alcoholic Ringo to take a drink. Ringo is giving his video camera to someone so presumably there is video of this in Ringo’s “archives”, assuming he still has it.
I have seen other photographs of Harrison looking really bad going for treatment in New York City. I’ve seen them online.
