- Hello once again everyone and welcome to another game of Civ 6!
Today we’ll be taking Brazil out for a spin - a Civ that most people overlook as being a bit situational on most maps. Well, they are, really. But that can be a good thing.
This seed / save file has to be one of the best, if not the best, start available in TSL Civ 6. If you haven’t given this one a go... well, come on to discord, grab the file, and have a go yourself!!!

Ryan: please, for my sanity, settle a meme panama canal city on the one-tile strip of land. It'd be funny.
I know I am 2 years late but I actually did this to bar the Aztecs entry into South America. Called the city Panama City lol
man, i was expecting a youtuber to do this TSL for so long!
Thank you so much, i'm sure i'll love this game
I started a game with Brazil on TSL like 5 hours ago. Played till the second era change and I had 2 Golden Ages so far and the whole of South America is filled with my cities. I am just sending some settlers North, but I was too tired to play further today. Can't wait to see how it goes for you. I didn't choose Heroes&Legends though, but I took Corporations&Monopolies, so I might go for a Culture victory. I am currently second to last in Science because I focused on settling and getting Golden Ages (for Monumentality) and I play on Deity.
Just to complete the story: I won that match by turn 197 with an accidental culture victory (19/20 diplomatic points at that moment as well). I was actually going for science (was about to start the Mars expedition).
I played a game yesterday with the same stats (TSL huge earth, deity, monopolies and secret societies), but I only settled south america (had america, canada and the cree in the north). I was trying to get a science victory again, but won an accidental culture victory by turn 169 (nice). I had only 7 cities, but all of them were HUGE. I guess having the monopolies for a whole continent and building a lot of wonders (had work ethic and the rainforest pantheon) just ends in a cultural victory before you have the chance to achieve a different type of victory. It was fun though. :)
Found your videos from the Potato cameo, really enjoying going back to see the old stuff!
Yay, a new video. I’m really happy with the constant stream of quality content from you. 👍
That forest district mod makes it so easy
Your voice and accent always make me so freaking happy I don't know what to do anymore, please become a pop singer or become someone who speaks audio books!
Damn this mod is really good for adjacency. I've done this game when they released the Huge TSL and it's amazing.
I'd suggest you swap one of the ECs with a Chichen Itza and add a preserve in the city for max yields. Also, the south of the continent can fit like six or seven national parks if you position your cities correctly.
Get the Oracle! With Brazil, it should be insane!
One thing you forgot about in your intro. Brazil has one of the best theme music in the game, possibly the best one out of all the civs. Just my opinion.
The reaction of the Europeans arriving in South America was exactly like the guy in the video.
Genuinely thought I was going mad because I just watched your Brazil play through two years ago! You used the forest mod then too
Glória ao Brasil!
Glory to Brazil!
Shilling this to the YT algorithm!
I would have gone for Void Singers as soon as I'd built the monument to get the +4 faith - comes in handy for next era's Monumentality.
Love your content. 7
Voidsingers? With all of those lovely yields around you? Think of the Vampire Castles that could have been had!
Well dang. That's some fine land. Maybe you can keep the world from getting so hot with all that rain forest?
You were soooo lucky with that start. I tried Brasil/TSL myself (on "immortal"), Inca spawned right next to me. Barely managed to settle a second city then there was no more room. Tried to attack Inca in a desperate attempt, but they had tons and tons of chariots, NO chance whatsoever. Game over.
It is kind of you to offer us the starting save games, but I cannot use them because I could never ever win on deity. Is it technically possible to get the same map with a different difficulty level?
Surely the seed remains constant, even on different difficulties?
@@andreastom1755 Probably means that Ryan had the whole continent for himself
I wanted to see the Ley Line Society. I haven't watched too many of your runs, but it seems to be the society you never pick.
@@TUUK2006 the problem I have with ley lines is that it's randomness means if none spawn near you, it's a waste of governor title. When it's near by, it's awesome. But that means reloading saves/maps if you don't get it close by.
@@TUUK2006 Leylines are very rare on TSL maps.
@@TUUK2006 They got buffed (relatively) recently; before that they were objectively bad until late enough in the game that it wouldn't matter anymore.
They can only spawn on tiles with no feature or resource, so it's super random on if you even get ley lines near your cap
Sidon think your pun was funny.... it was hilarious!!!
I tried a Vietnam + sacred path playthrough once. It would have been good if Vietnam weren't so frustrating to play.
do hermetic order work on that tsl map?you know the lay lines
When I played this start, I repeatedly burned down the Amazon rainforest, giving me 10/10 tiles before I settled there
Realistic :(
Say it with me: Himiko is a CIVILIAN UNIT!!
We have such different playstyles I often found myself asking why the f areyou doing this. The levying of Hansa units was one of them. Yes sure, you want to explore, get that juicy era score and perhaps some boosts. But do you really need it to avoid a dark era so badly with a whole continent for yourself ( you would a pretty much guaranteed heroic age after) ? I look at that as a waste of gold to be honest, buy a monument instead. But it's your style i suppose.
Himiko levies military for free lol he didn't spend any gold
@@dasdrifter12 ffs, i dind't notice that. Nevermind, nothing to see here, I'm an idiot
You were a "bit" aggressive in your Dutch game, sure. That's one word for it, yeah.
What speed do you play at, regularly?
standard
A bit aggressive.... go on..... 😉
Incoming steamroller
MAn, man! i need this file
You should have bought shrine ASAP.
Himiko should have continued scouting.
Using all her envoys on Hanza took away excellent jungle tiles from you. Unless you are planning on conquering it in the future.
You misplayed the irrigation tech which you should have boosted with a worker.
After the first promotion of pingala - get Magnus for settler pumping.
Very good on waiting to discover the arches.
Very good on planning cities and districts locations.
Irrigation boosted by improve rice or wheat, which are far away from the first city. Ryan know this map by heart right now.
How would he boost irrigation? Closest resource that can be improved by a farm is 3 tiles out, would be a complete waste of gold to buy out to the tile and build a builder just to shave off 5 turns of irrigation.
