Hi Mish playground time its always fun when you find coffee coins looks like it is cold out over here it is super hot not fun for detecting so i’m taking a break and watching your videos to stay out of the sun its just as fun Mish . Thankyou for the video waiting for the next one cheers
I looked at changing coffee money to $5, but with the way modern coins are declining... I'd better stick with $4 so I have a chance of finding it more often, lol! Being in the country, I can still get my espresso under that limit at least. Cheers (and nice profile pic!) :)
Great Dig Mish! A few coffees worth of coin there! Awesome.. the little silver ring topped off a great day.. but I was almost certain you’d have dug a sinker.. 😫😂🤙🏻🤙🏻
Good run, I would love to check out the parks around here. They do not allow it in my county. Thank you for the video and congratulations on a good day.
It's Friday in America and the giggles as always have just made my day! Thanks Mish for another great video and I'm glad you made the coffee money plus a little change left over!!! Cheers!
Hi Mish, doing well here. What a nice variety of items you found. Most important is your coffee money plus some. I loved the Mercedes, so cute. Great video. Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤
Hi Mish great day in the park mate. you had it to four bucks for a coffee but inflation’s killed that.. i started tapping on to purchase my caffeine addiction now, the way it’s going we might have to start using after pay 😂😂 Have a great long weekend mate 👍
Howdy Mish, Who doesn't love a good park hunt? Around here if your finding stuff in a park they will kick you out pretty quick because your not allowed to detect there and if your not finding stuff a lot of detectorists go there because its allowed. That was a good job finding the little park the other detectorists haven't discovered. Who goes home from metal detecting with a Mercedes Benz besides you? I love it. Hope you and yours are doing well and having fun. Your buddy, Roelf
It makes me sad that park detecting isn’t allowed over your way. They’re such a fun spot to hunt, a bit trashy though. Just recovering from the recent trip away now, real job is keeping me from resting. 😂 Cheers!
Hi Mish, I sometimes forget that the seasons are reversed from where you are, and here in the U.S. We are in Summer, and the ground is as hard as a rock from the drought that we are having. Lots of coins, so you should be are to buy a coffee or 2. Take care, John
Definitely reversed, it’s getting chilly down the southern end of Australia now. Taking advantage of the soft ground at least, and keeping an eye out for the storms carving up the beaches. Over three coffees today. Cheers mate 😊
Hi Mish, nice hunt, lots of coins = Coffee and then some. You finished on a high with a nice looking silver ring. Hope you enjoyed lunch? Thanks for the video looking forward to the next one.💍👍
G'day Mish well done on a little silver ring, and to let you know I have received my cap and now I am waiting for my Hoodie, and I look forward to the next adventure. 🤠
G’day Ray! Thanks mate. Ooh I’m glad to hear that the cap has arrived, I hope it fits perfectly and likewise for the hoodie when it arrives (the hoodie weather is definitely here! 🥶). Cheers!!
Hey Mish, nice hunt. Gotta love the playgrounds. All these flash machine and I still can’t call a JD screw cap/zipper pull/2c from a $2 (have to dig them all). Nice little ring. Thanks for the video.
Those JD caps will get me every time! 😂 the 2c will ring slightly higher than a $2, but they’re also in the range of a post-1946 Florin. I tend to err on the side of digging everything. Cheers!!
Thanks Jeff, that makes sense. I figure if I learn what all these components are, maybe one day I'll be creative enough to put them back into use. 😂 Cheers!!
Thanks Steve! The birds were all hiding up in the tall trees, but the birds I typically hear on a hunt are sulphur-crested cockatoos, galahs, magpies and rainbow lorikeets. 😊
Agreed, we call them T-nuts, and we have the spiked versions for use in wood furniture, and the smooth ones for plastic and similar materials, and a crimping version for repairing metal inserts that have been damaged…. And I could continue to bore you to death with this…😂😉 Mish, you knocked it out of the park again! Loads of fun and cool finds!
Hey went out with the legend today at one of my local parks today did 2hours at one spot and thought outside the square abit and tried some puddle's close to the club and in front of the soccer goals in the mud 5c lol the playground had 55c. Score a gold ring near the puddle's in frount of the clubs. m375 gold hey?the legend is real good between the pulltabs.trying all the spot that are normally to hard Averaging 1 a month at some different locations not expensive but a rings a ring hey
Great work! Thinking outside the box is always a good idea. I’ve found great items in places where you really have to wonder how they got there. 😂 The value of rings has never been a factor for me, I just like the surprise of not knowing what’ll come up on a day out. Cheers!
Would love you to do a video and or give tips on your experiences dealing with people who approach you aggressively suggesting you cant be digging and how you handle these situations and tips for safety (especially for women). I have been assaulted in a situation like that and it has deterred me.
I’m so sorry you had an experience like that! Usually I find the ‘kill them with kindness’ approach works - disarm them with a warm smile, maybe something like “I’m sorry you feel that way” (not just an “I’m sorry” - because you’re not at fault), there’s also the option of politely indicating towards your trash pouch to show you are actually making a positive difference… however I would also consider moving to a different location for the hunt to appease both sides. Some people can’t be reasoned with. 🙃 Having a detecting buddy can also help, maybe there’s a group for your state or region you could join to find someone? Cheers. 😊
Hi Mish, do you still have the minelab Excalibur ii? I’ve noticed you use the deuce now. Do you notice a difference between the two? Thanks. Love your vids btw
G’day Steve! I unfortunately had to sell the Excal to partially fund the Deus II. The Excalibur is a great machine, and one of my favourite sounding units but for me it was simply too heavy unless underwater (I did not enjoy using it up on the sand), the recovery speed is slower on the Excal as well but it does punch deep. I’d be very interested if they ever revised the design into a lighter unit and had the option to swap headsets and coils. I hope that helps 😁
It can certainly help! There’s also the option of running a pinpointer around the area if doing a recovery for someone (ie, the target will be shallow). 😊
Hi Mish, I just found your channel. I’m here in the US, Northern California to be exact. I have the Equinox 800 also and am thinking of getting the XP Deus 2 and would appreciate your opinion on the two, which do you prefer? I hear the Deus 2 ha better iron separation than the Equinox 800.
Welcome aboard! Both are great machines. You will notice a significant change in ergonomics between the two - Deus II is much lighter and more comfortable to swing for longer periods. As you mentioned yourself, the separation on a Deus is definitely a perk, I have found that even a slower reactivity (recovery) speed setting will still pick targets apart quite well. The waterproofing was the significant factor when I chose to purchase one - Deus II goes to 60ft/20M, Equinox 800 is 10ft/3M and was unfortunately not 100% reliable waterproofing. The learning curve on a Deus II is a lot steeper than the 'nox but if you're willing to commit the time (months!) to it, I think you'll enjoy it. Cheers :)
Wish we had one and two dollar coins that were widely used here in the states. We do have some presidential and other dollar coins but they aren’t used very often and rarely do you find them. It seems you find 1 and 2 dollar coins about as often as I find quarters.
They’re quite common over here, though the usage of cash in general is starting to decline. Your quarters are roughly similar in size to our 20¢ pieces which are equally common. Cheers!
Hi Susan, I'm on an indefinite hiatus, sorry! New job and other commitments have me a little too busy for filming these days. Thank you for thinking of me. :)
Just a cheapie coin tumbler that I bought from eBay, I did upgrade the stainless steel media though. I use burnishing compound which is essentially a powdered soap during the tumble cycle (doesn’t expand significantly and put internal pressure on the tumbler). Cheers 😊
Nice to see a woman metal detecting for a change! Makes me feel less weird haha! I like metaldetecting too! Love your video’s, keep them coming! Happy hunting!
There’s a bunch of us - just not a whole heap that film! However definitely check out folks like 10 Targets Detecting, Aussie Beach Hunters, Nora Svet, Discovery Daisy, Digger Dawn etc etc… there’s so many more, but that should give you some variety! Cheers!!
There coming to take you away Hey Hey! Dirt Fish Mish, done in for play park pilfering! and wandering off with someone's Merc to boot! Oh Mish, what will people say!... Who's losing all these coins, the kids or the parents! and a ring as well, now your just showing off! Cheers Mish, hope they let you out soon! Hooray!
Actually, I consider them both very good detectors for their respective price points. There are pros and cons to every individual machine, and the same could be said for the other five machines I’ve had in the past. I will continue to use both. 😊

That metal mystery item is a “spiked nut” that anchors into wood to help the bolt tighten down. They’re called a variety of things.
