- Racing fans at the Las Vegas Grand Prix react after a loose drain hole cover seriously damaged a Ferrari car and put an early stop to the first round of practice. Track the latest updates at ktnv.com/news/vegas-grand-prix

It was caused by a dislodged drain cover. First by Esteban Ocon, then it hit Carlos Sainz's car, damaging it. This was like at Baku in 2019 where one of the Williams was hit and damaged a drain cover was dislodged. Remember, F1 cars nowadays produce ground effect (especially way more since 2022), they make so much negative air pressure on the bottom of the car at high speeds, basically sucking onto the road

I was one that bought Friday only ticket. Had a good time but wish I got to see more of what I came for. Locals get a 200 credit for merchandise. I'm not a local. Maybe the local F1 haters will be help to make something of it.
3:21. Over something simple? Forget F1, is this guy even a racing fan first and foremost? The track is damaged, not debris, the track, and he expects the practice to continue.

Cancel Vegas race. The only night street race is in Singapore. No other place could beat it.

This isn't the first Vegas race, Las Vegas hosted the 1982 Caesars Palace Grand Prix which Michele Alboreto won.
And we are back to 2005!!!

No I'm already looking to next year when many more friends will join me. First street course event in New location often have little issue. Many to go the second year. Lessons learned and better for next year.
When jt rains here them drain covers literally be up the street and you can not see them when driving clearly because the water hides it.

@@soloracer1 It has happened numerous times in the past. Spending $80 million on a track but ignoring such a vital element is simply incompetence from F1 inspectors. Totally insane.
