I was in between Cx 3 and the Crosstrek, I think this video made me make a decision. Less back space but my god what a beauty, and it doesn't have a cvt transmission. awesome video
This comment is 5 years old but same here! I was going to get the crosstrek but it is way more expensive than this car with less features :-) decided on this car instead
CX-3 has better gas mileage than Crosstrek - and also goes well in the snow.
did you end up getting it?!?! i drive a 2016 cx-3 and everyone tells me "i've never seen someone so obsessed with a car before" lol i can't love my Redd anymore

Excellent video, thank you. Very thorough but you forgot to mention that the knobs on the air vents also twist so you can close them to air flow. Secondly, the CX-3 also has dual chrome-tipped exhaust pipes, which look spectacular from the rear.

Great video I am looking at Mazda and was going for the cx5 but decided on the cx3 now as it's more sporty looking and looks great I did the build and price and now I'm just waiting on the final numbers. I can't wait to pick it up!!

I have this car but in blk...love it..the bose 7 speaker stereo is amazing and the headlights turn as you turn corner....just love my baby!
Everyone has black - too depressing for me, also the LEAST safe color when driving at night.

I like japanese cars
I have been driving since the 60s. I remember when the car mattered not the computer. We had no computers because we had a lot to do. Shift, down shift, check the mirrors carefully to be aware of what is behind, just as much as what is in front. Driving was an activity. Now? Not so much. I don't need all those bells and whistles. I worry that the plastic speedometer will stopping popping up after a few months. The biggest feature to me is the back hatch is not electric. It can't break. Thanks for your exhaustive review. It is clear you love cars.
I bought a Jeep YJ manual when I didn't know how to drive manual. Oh boy, that took some figuring our lol. I learned fairly quickly. Then I got a BMW and that was fun to shift. Great car that one. Sadly, she died after a long life. The stick on the Jeep (when I leaned manual) was like three feet long. I felt it was so funny when I bought a Mazda 323 and the stick shift (well it always reminded me of a penis lol.)
I am still 100% set with this car. Warts and all.
My third car was a BMW is18 M series with everything. It was a pleasure to drive. I could fit all my camping gear in it using the back seat as well as the large trunk. Then I could go camping in a living room like environment. I bring a polar fleece blanket and a few pillows in the front seats. I will never have back seat passengers as I like to talk intimately. CX 3 is the right car for me. Do you agree... anyone? I will be looking only to move wood perhaps but I can have it delivered and dumped as I have lots of land. But it is dirt roads where I l am moving and I have a lot of snow to deal withm so AWD would be great.

I decided to go with the CX-5. I was shocked at how small the CX-3 was on the inside! If you like the style of the CX-3, but don't want to feel claustrophobic, I'd get the CX-5!
Matthew Leach thanks but for my needs the cx 3 is more than enough. I've already seen the car and that isn't really a problem. Apart from that, I'd really like to have feedback from someone before buying it.
Though the CX3 is more compact than the the CX5 , I find it still a bit bulky .
Anyway it's a refined SUV , Mazda cars are more and more attractive . Love that red color .

I am considering this car but that windshield looks pricey and at present,here in Canada, it is a dealer only replacement item..thay makes it even more pricey.
where I live, getting a year out of a windshield is extremely lucky.
any idea when the glass will be made available to the aftermarket industry?

In my country there are a lot more changes 2016 to 2017. Heated stearing wheel, GVC, road sign recognition and some suspension changes.
This is a beautiful car specially the red color.

good car, drove one today, but backseats are a joke, my old civic 2006 is way more comfortable! This Mazda drives very good, but it has got less torque. Interior and features are looking good!

This is a review ???? You gota be kidding !!! All you covered is the foo foo items !!! What about the engine, what available, the transmission, you did mention AWD was available .....but I guess it is all the foo foo crap that sells cars, not the powertrain, the guts !!!

Can't believe somebody would buy this horrible white leather trim. Looks like a car for a small town pimp. Your favourite part of this car is this crappy little air vent? I just switched off right then!
