These boys have absolutely inspired me. Got my turkey calls today, got my public land in Florida picked out!! Gonna hammer a gobbler next month!!
Great for you Brian keith zantop,,,,they inspired me long ago
Believe it or not, my story tops that miss. I had 3 toms and 2 jakes we worked for well over an hour and finally they came in to about 65 or 70 yards and decided thats as far as they were going. I was sitting on the ground against a giant fallen tree against the root ball. I could bend down look under the tree to see them while my buddy was 25 yards back calling. After another 40 minutes of them hung up out at that distance they finally stated coming in I could hear their drumming then their foot steps. Finally a Jake popped out first past the root ball close enough I could actually grab him with my hand. He started to strut and when he went into strut that made one tom very mad he came running in to that Jake and next thing I knew I had 5 birds all within less then 2 feet of me and they never seen me. I took my time picked the biggest bird then squeezed the trigger. CLICK!!!! OH MY GOD, all that and I forgot to put a shell in the chamber. That was over 25 years ago and to this day my buddies make sure every new hunter in our camp hears that story.
Sometimes I think our biggest failures make the best memories, even if you want to throw your gun off a cliff at the time.
Did you get a bird that day? Great story. It isn't always fun in the moment but the laughs later are almost always worth it
@@thwackTX not that day but did the next day
@@scotthall9525 well at least you got one I remember when I was younger me and my step dad were hunting these two ridges on private and we had a blind and had three worked up and these were big toms guessing been together for awhile and had them come up 25 yards got to excited and missed shot just over his head to this day I always piss my step dad off because I take so long to shoot one😂😂
Anyone reading this please listen. If you shoot at any bird, and you think you miss, the bird flies away, looks fine, you owe it to that bird to follow his direction he took off for a few hundred yards. I personally have shot turkeys that i thought missed and flew away only to walk and find them tucked under a log or brushpile usually within 100 yards. Go watch Dave Owens Pinhoti Project latest video and it shows this exact thing. If Dave hadnt followed that bird it would have died a miserable death and gone to waste. If you hunt enough youre gonna miss but always be responsible and do the due diligence to that bird and have some respect. Not knocking these guys at all and they may well have followed the log bird they missed but it wasnt shown. Just want to try and help any hunters and any birds from a bad situation
ROFLMBO!
"...Its your 1st Kentucky log"
Bwaaahaahaa
Love Zach's humor!!!!
Keep up the AMAZING job guys!
Fun times Lesson learned that you never put a hard object right off the gun barrel few feet because the line of site is above the actual shot or bullet path.good hunting
I don’t even like to turkey hunt but y’all get me fired up for this every year.
Whats wrong with you?
Just bought my Kentucky license and turkey permit today. Have a room already booked and time off work approved for opening week of season!! Can't wait to chase public land Kentucky longbeards.
Kentucky always so stacked
Theres not many turkeys in Kentucky anymore. Better off hunting somewhere else. Good luck
@@markosborne2663 that's fine. I'll make sure to only take 2.
@@tyepsu I was talking about hunters and meant packed not stacked😂🤦♂️
M’s husband, THP crew set the bar on hunting hard and enjoying the fruits of their labor. Be careful underneath that log when scratching. Vipers are quick!
Been rewatching old Turkey tours 🤟🏻thanks for the fresh ones boys, fired up for 2022 tour
My favorite season with THP. Kentucky looks pretty. Bring on Ryser, camping, and long beards!
Kentucky is awesome. Those birds will do what most others won't. I called one across a lake once.
Okay. So before this year kicks off we need some ground rules Son! We need tape measures on each O ya cause we need to know how gets the longest bird n Beard this year! I speak for all of us that we miss that aspect of the long bird videos! Keep all the good stuff coming! THP4Life!
Persistence pays off. Looks like some cool land to hunt in.
Y’all’s first mistake was moving down on him. Don’t know how many times I’ve been hunting on private ground in Missouri and tried to go down on one and then he ends up where I was calling in the first place. We did that till we just decided to wait them out and then we started waring them out. Gotta give them time. Even if u gotta sit from the first time u hear him gobble till 11:30 once they get done with their hens they’re off to the next ones
The long, long wait begins. Watching the Turkey Tour and waiting for the Pa. season to open. That tom was definitely a limb hanger!
Those have to be the kind of hunts that just live in your dreams all winter.
Finally, turkey tour is getting close!!!
I WISH I could show you the drawing my 6 year old made of comprehending that log miss lol he was so excited for you to bag that bird but couldn’t understand how you missed. So I just had to explain how line of sight vs bullet trajectory worked lol that was a conversation with a 6 year old but he pretty much got it lol ended up being a great successful hunt! Love watching you guys together, it’s always a guaranteed good episode.
This the duo right here!🦃👊🏽
That Log never knew what hit him lol
That was some awesome hunts! First you killed that log and then you shot a beautiful old gobbler! Great footage Zach! Congratulations Ben.
Height over bore matters. I know, I put a hole in my best friends toolbox with my ar15. We're still best friends years later 🤣
Congratulations on your harvest.
Way to stay persistent Ben.
Great video.
You guys don't mess around!!! Put out a super awesome video to kick off the preseason vids!!! Thanks!!
Ran into Ben a few weeks back at Walmart! Seems like a good dude. Wish Zach was with him though would have had to get a picture lol
Love when these two get together and hunt!
Shaking like a leaf on the first shot a steady as a rock on the second shot. Great video guys. Keep them coming. 💯👍👏👏👏🦃🦃🦃
That is a classic hunt, setup after setup and one finally works! Love it! Can’t wait for turkey tour 2022!
One thing I've learned is try not to shoot a Tom in full strut if you can and try to get the Tom to stretch his head up and it gives you a better kill shot if presentable. Keep up the great action guys and good luck 2022.
Ive already watched all of the turkey tours for the second time now getting pumped for this season😂
I did the same thing exactly 2 years ago lol. I hate shooting over logs lol. He came in gobbling hard and loudest drumming I've ever heard and I shot the lay down he was behind lol. Even though I missed it was a great hunt I won't forget.
Deer season depression. But thanks, guys, for getting me pumped for turkey hunting. I didn't know how fun it was till I watched all your videos. I didn't think I would enjoy it like deer hunting, but thanks to you guys, I was very wrong. Keep up the great work 👍
Deer season ended 4 days ago for me this is exactly what I needed to see to end the postseason depresion! Looking forward to seeing the THP spring Turkey season!
where do you hunt that season is so long?
@@samualadams824 Alabama. October 15 through February 10 for most of the state.
@@samualadams824 Yeah it’s great that our season ends Feb 10th, I’ve killed 2 wall hangers, 1 from Feb 7th and one few weeks ago on Feb 1st. Most states wouldn’t allow it to go in that long but I’m thankful mine does lol
@@jonadams867 thats awesome! congrats man
In Dwain Bland's book, he promoted hunting on your belly or on your knees instead of sitting at a tree.
Can Zach make some videos on vocal owl hoots and putting turkeys to bed?
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
Nice bird Ben, Congrats and great set up in that burm. He’s a good 3-4 year old bird and we’ll worth sitting for. Enjoyed this video guy’s, my favorite time of the year when the woods come alive.
Can’t wait for this seasons Turkey Tour hoping i see you guys out there in Idaho.
Insane footage i was biting my nails the whole time!
Daggon Kantuckee LOGBEARD! Fried log and misery soup tonight. 🤣
I shot a huge Louisiana longbush one time. Tasted bitter, extremely bitter.🤣
Great video! Just bought my non resident South Dakota turkey license few days ago can't wait to start turkey season!
Awsome Kentucky morning in the woods! I always wonder when I am goin to run into you guys out here in Kentucky. Can't wait to get back at it out here in Kentucky!!
If you play 11:31 at .25x speed you can easily see the bad flinch and the barrel drop around 1/4". His head even comes off the gun before it goes off.
Y’all got me fired up now! Me and a few buddies drew the turkey lottery on some public land here in Louisiana, hope we can get it done. Awesome hunt guys!
Getting me Hyped for Spring Thunder! I still have like 2 months to go til we open up here!
what a great hunt! great job keeping your heads on a swivel AND sticking with it.
I feel so bad for Ben, it probably isn’t fair but every time I see he is in a video I say “Is Ben going to miss another one” lol. Nice job on the hunt and congrats.
Ohh ya!! The turkey videos have begun 🦃🔥
Nothing east of the Mississippi beats chasing mountain gobblers.
@Buster Cheeks Originally WV, but live in OH now.
I live in Kentucky, seems like a popular state for turkey hunting. Had about 12 in the neighbors cut soybean field yesterday evening, hard to beat wild turkey breast on the grill
lol this was some good comic relief in the first part of the video haha
"That's your first Kentucky log, dude" haha awesome
GREAT hunt!!!! Loved it from start to finish. I was there in Kentucky same time frame and it was absolutely on fire. Had one of the best hunts of my life there with incredible footage. What a great turkey u all harvested, absolutely awesome hunt! Way to stick with em
That was a really awesome episode. One of my favorites for sure.
“3 strikes you’re out ! “ 🤣
Great hunt guys. Learned many years ago not to lay down on ridge tops due to it cuts off so many options. The turkey gods smiled on you today.
Enjoyed watching your video this is my first on Turkey hunt. Congrats on taking your bird great job guys.🤗
Heck yea....Awesome hunt.. the anticipation begins for this year.. cannot wait, I had an Awesome deer season hopefully turkey season is the same... KEEP HAMMERING GUYS
Congrats Ben
That blue-tailed skink thought dang it.
That was awesome! Love hunting the hill country like that!
You got a trophy log.
Good hunt but next time call to him to get him to lift his head up. Thank y’all so much for these videos!!
Happens to the best of us !
You guys should come Hunt Vermont.
Missed a sturgeon today lol sucks but cool to see em
Damn you missed like Ted lol 😂 hey we al have done that won’t be the first won’t be the last
At 8:40, when the tail fan flickers and you hear a click from the bird, is that what y’all are calling drumming? Or is drumming the sound of their feathers scraping the ground as they strut? I’ve heard it in real life and it’s an amazing thing to hear. Just curious as to what the name is. Thanks for the great videos
Not kidding mossburg 500 is a hard gun to really get down on. I missed countless birds just like that almost unbelievable misses. Switched the sight it helped then I switch guns and am. 100 % with it
Great hunt 👍, you kept going even after the first. Beautiful Tom 🦃
I saw that log shot coming the whole time!
Love in it...great pumped up for 2022 boys!
“Congratulations that’s your first Kentucky log” 🤣
That turkey gotta be peppered, pretty tough, great video as always.
Awesome hunts! Not much into turkey hunting, but I sure enjoy watching ya'll go at it!! Love what you're doing ❤️
You not only have the challenge of calling a bird on public, but there is also the challenge of beating someone else to it. I have been on both ends of that. One of my friends was hunting shoreline on public calling a bird down the shoreline. He heard a boat idling up and the hunter got in between him and the bird and killed it. Welcome to public land...
Whiffff!!! Happens to the best of us! Awesome hunts you guys.
You guys are getting me pumped up! Great job, great hunt
I'm exited for Minnesota season! 2 months out!!
Do you guys have a blog or anything with even more tips for turkey hunting? I’m planing a hunt this spring in Tennessee with my brother. Just trying to understand tendencies of the birds so I know what to expect.
Dudes purr
That barrel was doing figure 8’s 😂
This and Greg’s were really good vids, how’d you hold on to them for almost a year?!
When you missed the first one and you jumped up and ran did you happen to see witch state it flew off to
Nice hunt! The THP crew never disappoints!
That’s why I never shoot a turkey while he’s strutting, happened 1-2 many times
Great! Now I will be anxious until May 1st..... Why do I do this to myself?
Nice shot
BEAUTIFUL TURKEYS
“Your first Kentucy Log 🪵 “ 😂
I live in Winchester Kentucky and yes them logs jump in the way
I can’t wait for this season!!!
Epic hunt congrats ben
Mossberg 835 chambered in 105mm howitzer 🤣 Love mine but retired it for a 20 g.

Love it Guys,,, been there,,,,did that ,,))👍👊🙏🦊
You completely centered the log, LOL LOL LOL
Ugh...you're bringing back nightmares. :( Misses that just don't make a lick of sense.
He blew that salamander right outta that log… you showed him
Can you please give calling tips with a mouth call please
